    Extremely helpful during our -30 C temps here in freezing Alberta. Thank you for taking the time to film, explain and demonstrate all the steps necessary! Well done!

      How did you find out that it was your blower motor? In my Audi there’s absolutely no air blowing

    Thanks for that video! So i was able to found a piece of paper in the ventilator which made a permanent annoying noise. And the guy at the car repair shop said before this can’t be a paper, so I have to let it repair (for ~400€ at the original Audi shop). He was wrong and even when you video is blair witch project style, you helped me save a lot of money 👍 (my car is an A4B8 2009).

    Thanks to this video today I was able to make the ac work on a 2014 a4. Previously the ac would work sometimes when the car turned off, would turn off after hitting any bumps or when going over railroad tracks. Now the vehicle ac works in all terrain today which has been a problem these last 2 months. Costed me $100 for the blower motor on autozone but is better than paying $350 at a shop!

    Thanks for the great video. I have been procrastinating on installing my new blower motor. It finally got hot enough that I couldn’t take the heat any longer without AC. It took me about an hour and a half to install because I spent most of the time looking for the correct tools. I used some small nails to pop the MMI unit out and I had a hell of a time finding a 5.5mm socket.

    Super helpful video! I saved myself a few hundred bucks. Turns out my blower fan motor didn't even need to be replaced. My resistor just needed to be cleaned

    hi there? I have an A4 2014 B8.5 1.8 model TSFI... I have a problem with my aircon. when you switch it on. It blows air, but the air only comes from the underneath vents by the feet and by the windshield vents (sufficient airflow by the way). But NO amount of air flow is coming from the side vents of the dashboard and the middle vents of the dashboard by the radio. what could be wrong? thank you for your suggestion.

    Dude, you got lucky with that used one with the resistor. The resistors sell for insane money. $300+.

    Any idea if there's a way to send some Kilma ac evaporator cleaner from where the motor sits and over. In order to get rid of the ac dirty sock smell

    Just bought a 2010 a5 and there is no heat or ac. When the car is running in front of the vent is really cold so the coolant is at least working. But i click the heat and it makes electrical noises for about 3 seconds and then silence. no fans or air. no nothing. should i just replace the motor? or should i test the wires with a electrical tester

      Check the blower motor . Water possibly got to it and seized it up.

    • @scottd1489
      @scottd1489 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      How do you stop the water getting in so it stops the seize? Well a new pump be best so even if water gets in it will still work?

    so does the blower motor help the air actually blow? my 2012 audi a4 2.0T just randomly started not blowing air when i turned the AC on and idk what the problem might be… I turn the AC on and turn up the fan, yet no air actually blows out. i hear the fans switch on but they don’t actually blow air. I don’t know much about cars since i’m only 17 and just got this new car. Any help would be appreciated.

    • @theshoptopauto
      @theshoptopauto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The blower motor is basically the fan which yes blows air through the vents. Might have the knob turned on defrost or too the feet which is why you don't feel it or there's an issue with the blend door inside the head unit it's self which I doubt. Take it to a mechanic near you to have them check it before you cause more damage .

    • @theuser9026
      @theuser9026 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theshoptopauto hey thank you for your reply. i turned the far back on and AC somehow worked fine. i don’t know why it wasn’t running earlier. i even turned the car off and on a few times and it still wouldn’t work but i waited about an hour and it magically worked. no money will be spent today. thank you.

    a4 b8 passenger air vent change- please tell me how do I remove it?!?!

    • @theshoptopauto
      @theshoptopauto  ปีที่แล้ว

      They are a pretty simple to remove. You'll need a plastic pry tool. Stick it in-between the chrome vent trim and dash basically start pulling it out. There's metal tabs that hold it in place. The vent grills may fall apart when doin this so you'll need to use common sense when that happens and needs to be reassembled.
