The infrastructure to distribute it uses hopes and dreams, not hydrocarbons. The lithium in the batteries don't require strip mining and chinese child labor. The car isn't mostly made of oil byproducts either. 😂 Hope you're just being sarcastic, hard to tell these days.

The drive thru in McDonalds near where I live is the worst in the universe. The entire restaurant has slow service (despite having what appears to me to be twice as many people as needed), and the drive thru is the worst. They are always asking you to pull into the parking lot spots designated for longer waits and they'll bring it out to you. Their service is the worst. Meanwhile, the Jack In the Box next door always has great service.

My assumption is that this is McDonald's compromise and way to reach the newer generation's never-ending desire for something new and even more crazy/whacky each time. All while retaining McDonald's the way it is so that they don't risk continuously disrupting the already well established menu and its consumer base.
I could be wrong, but I expect the fairly consistent new flavors and items always reaching McDonald's to slowly transition to instead always reach CosMc's while McDonald's winds it back quite a bit. But, CosMc's will need to be established well enough first.
Want the latest out of this world whacky drink, sandwich, dessert, sauce? CosMc's.

for years now mcdonald's has tried to compete with starbucks in the drive-through specialty coffee market but it hasn't been able to get away from its traditional branding as a regular fast food joint. this is basically mcdonald's trying new branding for that concept in a separate building.

It’s been my feeling that Mcds wants to transition into McCafé drink stops much like Starbucks and scooters. Lots more profit in drinks and it’s easy to make a robot that can prepare them.

@@tommak6516 they have kiosks and app to replace front end. Other coffee places are experimenting with robotic drink makers. I doubt these will be skilled baristas, they will be letting machines do all the drink building.
