The Hungarian Folk Tales stem from original folktale collections, every episode has its special authentic ornamentation. The makers used the decorative art of a certain countryside region at each episode. The trio of folk art, folk music and folk tales are masterfully combined in the episodes, which have unique imagery, sometimes spicy folk humor in the dialogues. Thanks to the natural presentation of the storytellers, and the music of the Kaláka band, the viewer can experience something unique and special.

Does anyone else just randomly watch these with no context at 3am?
Edit: like I'm not Hungarian and I'm not a kid, i really don't know why but I end up binge watching this channel at late hours of the night. It's almost soothing lol

No one noticed that in first tale at the beginning narrator said that King was bored also by bread? 😂
-un- intelligent I did notice that, but he also said "and other sweet treats", so perhaps he meant sweetbread?
@@samanthadean1083 Actually I missed it 🙈 I treated these 'other sweet treats' as just another mention, cause in the beginning there is chicken and noodles and you know... Chicken isn't a sweet dish 😂
The actual word "kalács" was translated as bread, but that is a kind of sweetbread, often with ground walnut or poppy seeds.
Funny how the guards faces are like "oh great... Bread.... 🙄"

These tales should be compiled in a book!!! They are great and the art is very beautiful!!
They actually are! Im hungarian and also grew up with the books but im not sure if they’re available in english :/

Me as hungarian watching Hungarian folk tales for more than 5 years, and only noticing it now
I’m guessing the king was tired of posh soft white bread and he never had whole meal bread
