Might want to check your throttle calibration. When the pedal is fully pressed it's flickering between 99 and 100. I'm sure that was losing you at least a couple tenths per lap.
So an extra challenge right from the start. 😊 your look, when he did the first flip! 😂 golden! Amazing pass at 4:30 min! And even better at 10:00 min! 🥳 but then, out of nowhere… 😮 oh my… no words. Ratio wise you should be good… the next good race is about to come sooner than later. 💪
Sometimes, you just run out of luck! - Yes this is how I feel this holiday period, I WAS SO EXCITED to have 2 weeks off of work, my plan was to sim race 14 days straight with a big nerdy smile on my face. 2 days into my FULL HAPPINES the load cell on my Heusinkveld sprint pedals failed, honestly so disappointed I bought them because I heard they were bulletproof and I did not think they would fail on me like this, they said they would send me a new load cell for free but it's still disappointing that I miss out on my sim-racing holiday! But at least I got Dave cam and Matt Malone to watch.
Oh damn! I feel your pain. Dave, I'm currently setting up a new triple monitor stand with 27", curved monitors. Can you give me a suggestion as to what angle i should be aiming for between them?
With curved monitors i was told the best way is to set them to the curve rating of whatever monitors your using. Example being i have three 34 inch ultrawides going and one monitor has and 1800r curve so i aligned the other two so that its just one massive curve. If you do the 60° angle in the corners like with flat monitors youll gain distortion especially in the corners of the image. Just my 2 cents good luck sir.
Hey Dave, do you use a spring for the brake or do you run it without one? If you use one, are there any noises? My spring makes disturbing noises. I tried all combos and only without a spring it is silent and feels smooth.
Hi Dave, I just pulled the trigger on iracing and have a question about braking. Whilst I'm having no problems with the GT3 cars, the Porsche 963 has no abs and nothing I do, including using coach Dave setups will make the car drivable with respect to locking the brakes up. I'm assuming that the car in this video has abs but if it doesn't or you've tried the Porsche 963, have you had troubles with lockups? If so, we're you able to find a fix? Thanks mate. Cheers!
Braking with downforce is tricky. You will need to start with a high initial brake pressure, and then bleed it off as the speed, and therefore the downforce drops to avoid locking up.
@MK67853 Understood. This is a hardware issue, as it turns out. The fanalab brake level was set to minimum because I'm disabled with weak legs and it's how I was advised to set that parameter by other disabled sim racers. I was educated yesterday by a non disabled racer that this is what the problem was and to set the brake force up to about 80 and when I did that, the problem was fixed. Unfortunately, the pedal is now too stiff for me to push more than a few times and iracing suggested I check the box for brake assist after returning the fanalab setting to my comfort level and they will allow a disabled flag to be applied to my account. I did as they suggested and that worked perfectly. Thank you for taking time to help my plight. I really appreciate it! 🙏
When I saw the video was only 11 minutes long for a race that goes 30 minutes, I knew there was going to be a disaster. Sorry Dave. Hope we get to see another one.
11:20 Sometimes iRacing just says you will die in this race, you will get a 4x and you will lose iRating and there is nothing you can do about it okay? and all you can say back is Yes.
Considering the expenses and pissoffin i'm grateful that fm2023 exist. At least the carnage is fun not torture like this expensive flyin'n floating sh*t! lulz.
IRacing needs to make spilts based on IR regardless of the number of entries. Maybe even limit the car options. For me this series is often down to one very busy single split, and I often find myself at 2K trying to avoid embarrassing myself on others streams. The other day I was being chased down by a 10k IRL racer the entire time, meanwhile it’s my first time in the corvette around Spa. Not fun for anyone. The only solution is that I don’t race, which is what kills these series eventually.
Will always support the channels discovered along the way. But after a 20+ year lay off from sim racing and trying every available bit of software and ending up with a 160 rig, dd1, sprint pedals. IRenting, (5th rate in the sim feel in my opinion) after spending £500+ on cars n tracks leaves a very bad taste in my mouth when I discover that "purchase" and "own" have different meanings in the US, to that of RENT in the UK. I seriously thought when i was "purchasing" cars and tracks I would be able to use them offline. But hey.....just having a rant.
6:27 That Callum fella flying round the corner on his side is the stuff of nightmares…!
just discovered you’re channel and now im addicted
Thank you for finding me 😁
By far my favorite simracer nowadays. Empty Box/Matt Orr was my other favorite but he's faded out for now.
@@BeachBum88m hopefully he'll come back. A proper legend 😁
“Loads of time left though” we’re the last words spoken before that crash

Hope you and the family had a lovely Christmas mate. Many blessings for new year 👍
Thats the Most realistic racing that i saw so far Dave. Not that oh look im fighting for P1. More off that please

Honestly, you might be better off missing this period. The racing has been super sketchy.
I really love this serie, it's so nostalgic, reminds me of ALMS 🤩
When you get that feeling about someone, and turns out to be true
Did you use a custom setup for the car? I'm finding the low downforce setup fastest, but super tricky.
Oh damn! I feel your pain. Dave, I'm currently setting up a new triple monitor stand with 27", curved monitors. Can you give me a suggestion as to what angle i should be aiming for between them?
Around 60 is a good number for 27"s I feel with the edge of the monitor right over the edge of the wheelbase (front)

Dave I notice you don’t use the racelabs radar. I love it wondering why Jedi master?
Oy oy oy, time to gain some SR on the ring perhaps Dave 😅
Oh dear, now that stops you sleeping at night🤣

@@MichaelEgan66 no problem at all, happy to try and help. Good luck with your racing!
Love your vid as always! Also really love the Proto/Gt series, do you have a setup for the HPD @ Spa? I get passed like I'm standing still on the str8
I was hyped for the other 20 minutes 😢
You need to check your throttle threshold, because its not 100% when you are full on it.
great content! keep on that!
Well that's not how you wanted it to end Dave.
Hope you and julie had a great Chrstmas.
👍
Chin up, Davy boy.
what setup are you running dave
some crackin racing until the unortunate end! it happens, though. on to the next one, which i'm sure will be a better result
bella livrea, complimenti !
Ah well mate, shit happens...It's turning out to be a great series though.
Using the low DF setup?

I love it 😁
Bit OT mate time for a DT and then a BF 😂
