      @spudcoconut ปีที่แล้ว +1

      tbh no thumb is very non-competitive. There are too many inconsistencies in terms of control from what I've seen with palming the ball that either just adding the second hand or the thumb would solve almost immediately. Not meaning to sound like it's impossible to get better -- I have seen some pretty good bowlers palm the ball -- but for the great majority people it probably creates a ceiling that is impossible to break through.

    DTANG!!! You are so accessible, wise, kind, yet firm.
    I’m not a 2H, but bowl with one (whom I plan to share this video with)…but the most important thing that you said was that in practice work on what is behind the foul line. So true!!! Thanks for letting us in!

    I live in Vegas as well and would love to both challenge you and hopefully learn some things from you at the same time. Having fun while the challenge is happening is a great concept to me. The way I look at it is, yes its a challenge, yes I'm at a tournament (league, a show, etc.) but if I'm not having fun while doing it why do it. So I really give all of you (You, Jessie and Lance) a whole bunch of credit.

    I've been a subscriber for a while now and this is the best series you've done so far. There is a fun aspect to this combined with a lot of good info. I wasn't 100% sure if you were saying you will now do a lesson each time or not but I think that would be a great video to follow up each one of these. I think you will get a lot of community engagement and see your subscriber numbers increase along with it. Keep having fun with it.

    I was fortunate enough to get a lesson with Coach Jasnau back in May at The Orleans. I know Darren works with Jasnau as well, and I see a lot of similarities with how Darren was coaching Chad. Overexaggerating new physical tweaks and focusing on only two/three things during this one lesson.

    Hi Darren, I am a SR. Bowler and a silver level coach. I saw you in Tacoma this week as well as last summer I got to talk and bowl with you and Marshall at the Angle of the wind. Anyway, about 8 days later I was in tbe hospital and had a quadruple heart by pass. So now I am back in recovery mode. My idea is maybe work with you on how to rehabilitate back into bowling after having major surgery. I will be back in Phoenix soon so coming up to south point isn't any big deal. So what you think? Maybe we could come up with a challenge too.

    A little surprised you didn't tell Chad to stay down and post the shot. He kept rising up at the foul line and that will often lead to less accuracy.
    Still, great content!! I would love to see more of this.

    • @BasketBowlers
      @BasketBowlers ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely my biggest problem as a 2-hander myself. It's much easier to hit the same target when I'm conscious about staying down on a shot.
      But like Darren said, he didn't want to add too many things in one lesson.

    It would be like a dream come true to have a lesson with you Darren. I love bowling and consider myself a very beginner. Mentally I know what bowling is and should look like but like golf I need to convince my body to do what I want it too. Plus like Chad I am a body builder as well and can’t stop myself from “muscling” a lot of shots which kills my consistency. Who know maybe one day I’ll be better 👍🏻

    I live in Carlisle, PA, and even though I know that I would more than likely lose, I would LOVE the chance to bowl with you!! I'm a right handed bowler, one handed, and have been bowling for almost 3 years now. Right now my league average is roughly around 165, but definitely want to make that go up. I would greatly value a lesson from a great bowler like yourself 🙂
    In regards to the videos, always love watching your videos, regardless of what they're about! I do really like the lesson video though, I think it would greatly help a lot of bowlers out there that may need some extra help with their game. Keep up the amazing job that you and Jesse are doing with these videos, and maybe one day, I'm be able to see you on the lanes 🙂

  • @SirJoelsuf1
    @SirJoelsuf1 ปีที่แล้ว

    Off topic but Chad has a...pun intended...Chad physique haha. Dem legZ.
    He'll go far with just a few minor tweaks and some solid fundamentals. Especially when it comes to the swing plane. Just check out the 5:30 mark...IMO that needs to be worked on the most. Wish I could throw it like that two handed but my ball speed is god awful two handed. Get too much ball speed one handed.
    Oh and Darren also does virtual coaching. Had a virtual coaching session with him a few months ago and it was pretty nice. So if anyone was ever interested in doing virtual coaching with Darren I definitely recommend it.

    I’m currently learning how to bowl (and I’m doing 2 handed) and the biggest tip I got from my friend that averages 230 is keeping the ball cradled through the shot. After he gave me this tip (which is pretty much the same as him saying staying under the ball) I went from averaging 130 to 160 literally from the game he explained that to me. I never bowled as a kid so I was very bad when I started about 5 months ago. Now I’m pretty close to averaging 180 just bowling in league on mondays. I wish he would have gave tips on how to generate more speed as a two handed bowler because I’m currently averaging 12.5mph according to my bowling ally. However that tip made it to where I have much better pin carry and get more strikes when I hit my marks

    this taught us nothing about the best technique for 2-handed bowling. it did show he needs to change his approach. what was that?????? left/right/left/right 2 step hop hop scotch butterfinger release? how a golfer swings their driver seems an easier approach and release that may add more body tilt for a whirlwind release.bending knees at the same spot. watching this, we were expecting him to slam the ball full force into his left ankle.
