Thanks for posting this. Researching where I'm going to live in my van for two winter months after I retire. Appreciate the sound words of advice on having a 4wd and high clearance.
I'm nearly 68 years old, and grew up in West Texas! The whole area from Carlsbad Caverns to The Davis Mountains, to The Big Bend, are my favorite places! I have lost count of how many times in my life I've been to these areas! Sadly, I have not been since Christmas 2000, and chances are I will never get to see these places again! I look forward to living vicariously through you guys' adventures! Thanks for sharing with us!
I’ve wanted to visit the Big Bend area ever since moving to central Texas in 2014 (it reminds me of my time living in Nevada/Arizona). I FINALLY made it out there my first time this past January (2022). I liked it so much that I’ve been back two more times in the past 2 months! Two of the times I camped in the back country at Fresno, which is right next to the Mariscal Mine. The third trip, just a week and a half ago, I finally convinced my wife and kids to come out and we towed an 18 Ft travel trailer and stayed at an RV park in Terlingua. Each visit I had a great experience! I had wondered what the Talley campsite was like. Thanks for showing what that site looks like. I may have to camp there sometime, right along the river.
Cool video,ya'll look very happy and relaxed! We just got back, and rode all the dirt roads on motorcycles. We stayed down the road from you guys in the Cottonwood campground. I had to look up where you were, and it looks like Old Maverick road. We rode it one night as a short cut from Terlingua. I wish we would've rode it during the day. I'm going to a primitive one next year, and ya'lls looks good to me!
First time I visited Big Bend was April 1982, I was 21 years old. In the years since I have retuned about 15-20 times. When I am there the rest of the world goes away. Thanks for the video.
Great to see you two doing this. My wife and I started camping at Big Bend in 2020 and decided we would make it an annual trip. We'll be going for the 3rd time this spring, bringing some friends to experience the peace and beauty of the area and adventure of camping. We can't wait.
You all are an inspiration. My wife walked in about a year ago and said we are starting camping again. Its been probably 25 years since the kids were little and we dod that. I was wow. Great. About a month later she said we are getting a roof top tent. I was wow….ah great. I am thinken she is talking about some sort of platform you pitch a tent on. Ok. Now I get it. We spent the year building up equipment. Got the Jeep in August and set up version one. Did a couple local trips (Ray Robert) then Colorado to see the aspens. We learned a lot about what we dont know. We are now using that learning to figure out more things. You all showing and sharing your experience is great mentorship and appreciated. Would love to see you all do some q and a between each other on what you have learned and stories. Yall have a great vibe.

Great video you guys. We appreciate it. Where can you go fishing at?
Did you have to reserve at this campsite? Thanks for sharing. This is very helpful for our plan to visit Big Bend.
Yes you do have to reserve the sites.
