Peace to the blackstar movement and the people's party. Rakim is the greatest MC to ever do it and i remember listening to microphone fiend when i was very small in my early age. Hip hop music has change and became more obsessed with material things and gains. Which can be displayed as capitalism and hip hop wasn't born from that platform. It came from a broken community that had to build themselves up. It's crazy how much things have changed and it's getting worser as more greed comes into play. Hopfully one day we will open our eyes again and start spreading truth with dialogue and conversation through the music like we use too. One love 🖤🤘🏾🖤

Word up! Jungle Brothers and their Afro-centric themes were and still are powerful!
Still my favorite groups to this day are Jungle Brothers, Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Camp Lo. . .
But also KRS-ONE is truly a great thought leader in Sub Saharan, black African uplifting.
The black mother is the original mother. We can trace back the whole human race back to a handful of mothers in East Africa.
I think Nas’ & Damian Marley’s album ‘Distant Relatives’ was perfect in terms of studio quality and concept. Although I played that album to death so I gotta let it breathe.
I think the best hip hop gets its inspiration from the mother-land and its people. Busta Rhymes gets honorable mentions too

Well, the ecstatic isn't really out there right now for audiences to consume because it's not on streaming services so really the only way to listen to it is if you bought a pressing when it came out or free on TH-cam, and many ppl will probably not know that he has that auburn in his discog. Reminded of a Jackson Pollock video with him painting and overdubbing himself saying (over solo violin music) that he would rather express himself directly than to describe what he does. Autonomy in person who creates without clinging to a former category seems to make some definition wheelers in comments sections itchy, oh well. Wow, you did that + What does it mean to you? ... isn't my business and I accept the challenge to heed what Mama Used To Say: take your time + live your life.... instead of remaining an electric stowaway in some old sunken limitation.

2:09/8:09 It's like that still but within the microcosm of the "black consciousness" community. You either gotta be rockin a ankh and down with Kemet, bussing tassels with the Hebrew Israelite, dawning a fez with the Moors, or wearing a suits with the nation. If not, you outside the cypha. And Kweli is right. Only he should've spoken in presentence because we still get lost in the retelling of our story. Mentally rehearsing the same pain body over and over, creating more frustration and no solution.

The whole concept of (BLACK) lives matter is predicated on reactive counter culture, its as racist as saying blacker the berry sweeter the juice, is this so from todays evidence that sentiment has soured sorely. This concept of ‘BLACK’ its not stipulated in proactive culture hence where we are today, by actively opposing an opposite hue in a broader spectrum we retain and continue this destructive dialogue, of insularity between two colours, hence where we get ‘everything is not just black white,’ the subtle ostracism and elitism rears its ugly head to those who do not identify with black and white wars, we clearly are more than that, and we deserve to be more than that but if we continue in this back and forth rhetoric, the lives that passed whom this movement represent will remain in vain, by creating inclusive and relatable systems that can sympathesize with everyone we create healthier safer environments for more constructive dialogue.
