Prior to big pharma the terms food and medicine were often applied to the same same plants and substances.

Been growing A. belladonna for many years. Fascinating berries. Shiny black impeccable tiny tomatoes.

I first met this gourd in Romania. It was called healing squash there because they would cut half of the young gourd off to eat and the cut end would heal over.
I got a start from southern Exposure.

I've seen butternut squash do the same thing, if you smear the juice over the cut area with a clean finger.

Hello Richo, First off I want to thank you for the fast shipping on the seeds I ordered from you about a month ago !! Also I wanted to ask you about a large patch of Elecampane that I have . I live in zone 6, Western Pennsylvania. When should I harvest the Elecampane roots ?? In the spring or fall, if fall should I wait for a hard frost to harvest the roots ? Your input would be appreciated. Have a great weekend :))) Your new book looks very interesting : )))
