There's no competition between North American female metal singers either. Amy, Lizzy, Maria, Taylor are all good friends. The only competition is in the minds of fans and critics.
@@powskier Definitely, it happens in almost every fanbase of every thing out there. Movie fans and comparing actors/films, sports fans comparing players and teams, music fans comparing singers and musicians. People are naturally tribalistic towards the things they like, it's like they have something to prove, they feel the need to "win" some imaginary contest. It's weird.
It's one of the reasons why Sharon and Anneke did the duo on "Somewhere". Sharon has said that she didn't know why, but the media were always trying to pit them against each other when in fact they got along fine. Same thing with Tarja and Floor, who are actually friends, or Simone and Charlotte Wessels.
Well, this is exciting. In the early 2000s, when message boards were big thing, fans of Within Temptation and Nightwish talked about how amazing it would be to see Sharon and Tarja sing together one day. Both were also often asked about it in interviews when they were doing promo work. Great that it finally happened in 2013.
I remember this. I grew up listening to WT and Nightwish, always thought how amazing it would be to hear them together. When this song dropped, I remember just jumping up from my seat and shouting "YESSSS!"
I remember this, too. Relatedly, teenage me went to Pinkpop and passed a letter to Evanescence telling them that needed to collaborate with WT .... only waited 20 years, but they heeded my advice! 😂
Tarja is an absolute boss ! Been listening to her for over 20 years. Singers from all parts of the globe have mentioned her as an influence from Japan to Europe. I have enjoyed some Within Temptation tracks over the years as well. They worked well together.
@@TristanandIsoltYou're talking about preference. I won't say which one is better because they're both excellent at what they do, which is why we like them. It's just a matter of preference.
Sharon was doing a concert, and started singing this song alone. what she didn't know was that tarja was standing behind her. she turned around to see tarja and freaked out while trying to sing! they laughed and finished the song together. pretty cool!! there's also a behind the scenes video also...again, pretty cool!
Tarja has performed this live with Within Temptation a few times, including Master of Rock 2019. If you haven't already, check out one of those later on your own.
@@larryzigler6812 nah. Audio balance is kind of off, the guitar solo blows out the sound system, and Sharon does not chime in on the belt. But if that's your favorite, go for it 😉
Oh yes, it's a beautiful song!!And the camera gives such a good close up on her face so you can see all the techniques she uses, great for analysing ;)
I see so many people claim that Tarja's not versatile just because they don't understand that her having a naturally dark, warm voice is different from her using operatic styling, so it's SO NICE to see you point out where she goes more contemporary. I'm not sure if you've checked out much of her solo work, but she's awesome! Highly recommend her cover of Supremacy for some super fun style choices she makes and some killer high notes, and also recommend her folk cover of Sleeping Sun with Steve N Seagulls to really see how she can adjust her voice to a more lowkey setting. As for Sharon, god I love her voice. It's grown so beautifully over the years. I know most of the stuff you've checked out from her is from their earlier discography, so you might have been surprised to hear her show off such a rich and powerful chest voice. Another great one to REALLY hear the development in Sharon's technique is the live performance of Let Us Burn. Some other fun ones are her cover of Just What I Need Tonight and her solo song Crash and Burn. You should really see a live performance of this song--the M'era Luna one is fantastic! I love it live, because it really shows how they each get different spots to shine and really weave in and out of each other beautifully because they have such different techniques--Sharon's brighter, more natural tone takes the forefront on the spoken verses, while Tarja's classical, dark voice comes through more strongly on those belting vocals where she can draw out those rounded vowels, like you talked about. You get to hear Sharon a little better on that big climax part when they sing it live, too, cuz I don't think a lot of people even realize she's singing it in the studio recording. Regarding the production, as far as I remember, WT recorded the track and then sent the demo to Tarja--so her vocals were likely layered in with Sharon's! They had like one Skype call at the beginning of the collab to discuss working together and then actually never met in person until filming this music video! That's the other great thing about seeing them perform live, to see their wonderful chemistry, because they've both talked about how they instantly clicked and became best friends and talk like every week. There's a really cute performance from Metalfest 2017 where in addition to Paradise they actually also sing WT's song Angels and Tarja's song I Walk Alone together (and sound GREAT on each other's) and there's lots of loving and complimenting the whole time. And you're so right--it really does seem like that vibe carries over into the whole community of female metal singers! I can't WAIT for Sharon's tour with Amy Lee to start, because Sharon's said they bonded insanely fast and it's sure to be an amazing time.
Can't wait to FINALLY see Tarja in one of her Christmas Concerts in December. Already met her 2 times after a concert and she's such a kind and humble woman, takes a lot of time for her fans.
I think you named the thing I love most about the metal sphere. They all get along. They like each other, support each other, help each other. They go together on tour, they co-headline, they invite each other on stage, or to feature on songs. They could see each other as the competition, but they don't. We're far from the pop music industry famous feuds, like Katy Perry vs Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey vs Jennifer Lopez.... It's a healthy and caring musical sphere and it's so inspiring.
Ah yes, the Sharja collaboration. Still sounds amazing. I remember how 101% hysteric I got when they announced this song lmao Within Temptation has a knack in creating amazing songs about the internal world (feelings, struggles, hopes). They always changed their sound and lyrics to become something exactly as I needed in all phases of my life. This is the band of my life. Even their most recent songs (Entertain You, The Purge, Shey My Skin and Dont Pray For Me) nailed a lot of what I feel and think today. Paradise is from their album Hydra, which have two more killer colabs - And We Run and Dangerous, this one with Howard Jones. Bottom line: check listen everything from Within and Tarja's solo career and hapiness guaranteed haha

LOL - I *knew* you'd love the part when the machine was turned on!!! The growl and snarl of the metal underlying Tarja's soaring operatic vocal is magic! In the context of the story, it's like the sound of unleashing the power of restoration and healing. It fits SO beautifully!
I've listened to the song multiple times already, but it never fails to give me the chills. Also I'm infatuated with Blackbriar lately and I can't wait to see them make it to one of your videos. Cheers!
Reaction to Battle Beast would be something very exciting. So many great song and amazing vocals by Noora. Wings Of Light or King For A Day would be perfect songs to react to.
I'm always surprised with myself about how much I miss Tarja's singing. There isn't and hasn't been anyone like her. It's almost 20 years since she left and those songs are still so emotional to me. How much metal has missed for not having her in a leading metal band since then. I'd pay a lot for seeing a Nightwish concert with her, even knowing it would be done for money etc etc.
Tarja never stopped singing. she has made an extraordinary career in many styles. metal, symphonic metal, rock ballads, Christmas songs, dark Christmas songs, classical music, even the newest this year, a mix of electronics with electric guitars. Tarja always surprises and is always experimenting. but she doesn't do marketing
This is one of my favorite Within Temptation songs. Sharon and Tarja singing together is a beautiful experience. There is at least one live version of this song where Tarja came on stage to sing with them at a festival a few years ago that you may want to check out. Their energy on stage in that live performance is electric and you can tell that they just enjoyed performing with each other. It's always fascinating to me to watch on stage interactions when a band has a guest singer come on. Tarja and Sharon were having the time of their lives together, and the pure joy that was written on their faces is a testament to how they get along offstage.
Tarja and Sharon are extremely good singers and Within Temptation's video productions are always perfect little movies. Their voices fit so very well and they sound even better live. I love both of them. ❤️
This made my day. My #1 Symphonic Metal band coupled with by far and without doubt the greatest ever female rock vocalist. And a fine tune it is too. Joy. Hard to believe this song is already 8 years old. It will of course sound great in 100 years.
You should listen to some of Tarja's earlier work with Nightwish. Wishmaster Sleeping Sun Passion and the Opera Lappi 1,3 Beauty of the Beast Angels Fall First The Forever Moments Walking in the air Two for Tragedy Deep Silent Complete........ She's my absolute favorite and I love everything she does, including all of her solo music
They couldn’t be more polar opposites but together they both feed and feel off each other’s singing voices! Fantastic duet, feels like they have been doing it for years! 🤯 Cheers, Mike L😎👍👍👍👍
If you want more wonderful female metal vocalist collaborations there's Tarja's Demons in You which she performed live with Alyssa White Gluz at Wacken 2016. Definitely a great song to check out. Not what you'd think of as a natural pairing but they combine their voices incredibly well with Alyssa showcasing her full range to compliment Tarja's wonderful voice.
One of my favourite symphonic metal duet 😍 I love both Tarja’s and Sharon’s voices! These ladies sing with different techniques and they have very different voices but give me same goosebumps 🤩 Beautiful analysis!
This is the way Sharon usually things, at least in the last 12 years or so. She became more chesty, and singing with a lot more mixed voice as well. In her earlier music with within temptation, she was much more of a light head voice singer. All beautiful styles. TARJA has been versatile for a very long time. She does sing a lot of Pop style techniques, not just classical as heard detractors would say.
I agree but that is something she developed after parting ways with Nightwish. I think this video is great show case of how she continued to work and develop her instrument over the years. It is part of what makes her such a great vocalist.
Man, I have been jamming to this song for years. The song is epic and the music video is so cool. Looking forward to your Analysis! Also, you should watch the behind-the-scenes of making this video. These 2 ladies are hilarious and had so much fun with it.
I was just looking through your back catalogue of videos, and I was really surprised to see you'd never done an analysis of Lacuna Coil. I do hope you'll get to them soon - your knowledge of vocal technique is always so eye-opening, and really enhances my appreciation for these artists.
Always said the world would explode if Tarja and Sharon did a song together. 😆 One of my favs. If this is any indicator of how awesome a colab can be, I can't wait to see how the Within Temptation Worlds Collide Tour with Evanescence goes.
"Misi" Honestly, If I hadn't got into Evanescence, I wouldn't have got into Nightwish and Within Temptation. People don't talk about this a lot but Evanescence is probably the most influential and overlooked band of the past 20 years that got many American teenagers into Power, Symphonic, Gothic and Black Metal
@@lethybridtheorygolucastheo2191 I agree! I had heard 1 or 2 songs from Nightwish and Within Temptation at that time but I didn't know them by name. I've always been disappointed that they don't get radio air time in the states, I think a lot of people would fall in love with these bands if given the chance.
This one is so much fun, love both of these ladies' style. For another awesome collaboration, try Within Temptation with 'Dangerous', featuring the one and only Howard Jones!
I have to confess! I am in love with Tarja since when i first heard and seen Sleepping sun video clip from Nightwish more then 20 years ago!!! Still in love with her! She will forever be THE Nightwish singer!!! I love Floor (she is a GODESS) also but original Nightwish soul voice is Tarja Turunen!!! P.S. Bless you!!!
All hale the REAL TRUE QUEEN 👑 of Nightwish and of ALL FEMALE SYMPHONIC METAL SINGERS!!!!!!!!, the very beautiful looking and very unique voice of the enchanting TARJA!!!!!!!!😀👍👍👍👍🤘
Dude, not cool. Tarja and Floor are friends, I doubt she'd appreciate you taking a cheap shot at her friend especially for the purposes of elevating her. Did you not listen to that part about women in metal supporting each other rather than tearing each other down? Don't be That Guy.
I Second! Tarja's voice was so much darker and ethereal back then, and that combined with the power metal they had going on at that time, so iconic and so good
I remember when I first found your channel and saw you had analyzed some Within Temptation and Nightwish songs, this song was the one song I wanted to you breakdown so bad. So glad you have finally gotten to it. I always imagined Sharon and Tarja as Valkyries singing songs for the fallen. Such epic voices.
I can't wait to FINALLY see these two together on stage at the end of the year! I might be a 38-year-old metalhead, I can't promise I won't shed a few tears of joy...
My first exposure to Nightwish was quite accidental it was the song Angels Fall First and I was completely enthralled with the guitar intro and then the strings, but when the singing started I felt it was just a little too operatic for that song. I really like Tarja's voice though. This is actually my favorite vocal performance by Tarja. I'm going to check out more videos with Tarja because most of my Nightwish listening is with Floor. Sharon and Within Temptation are spectacular I'm a huge fan.
Within Temptation songs to explore from their older album "the heart of everything" - Hand of Sorrow and The Truth Beneath the Rose. Tarja to explore from Nightwish era of "Century Child" - Ever Dream and Ocean Soul.
This song is up there with Stairway To The Sky and Shot In The Dark among Within Temptation's best songs. Absolutely awesome song for karaoke too, highly recommend singing this.
i hope you'll react to more studio stuff from tarja, when you said her voice had more 'loft' i was like 'ah yes this is the word i've been looking for'. it is always hard for me to put in words what tarja's voice sounds like(especially on early nightwish albums). yes it has a dark rich colour but her voice sounds like it's coming from a place i don't know how to describe xD i'm just a layman when it comes to music but i enjoy her vocals immensely.
Sharon singing Faster while watching the isle of man motorcycle racing video was so powerful. That's how I was introduced to the band, it haunted me until I looked it up. Glad I did. I've been stuck on Robert Plant's song Ship of Fools, that would be a cool review if you haven't done it yet.
I must definitely recommend you to listen Tarja Turunen and Steve ’n’ Seagulls perform together Nightwish Song Sleeping Sun. It's emotional and funny at the same time. And i must say Tarja's voice is at its purest and most beautiful in that performance. Thank You!
Couldn't resist this analysis, cause I love this song (and video). The blend/contrast between their two voices just works so well, and I get the impression Sharon has moved how she sings a bit to help make that work (though I'm not a trained singer so I could be completely off base). Anyway, fascinating as always, thank you!
Great singers both,i love them 😍. Basically i knew Tarja from NW which I am a big fan and this song made me loving Sharon and WT as well. Great vocals, great lyrics, music and video and finally great 👍 reaction from you !!! I would like to make a video reaction to Therion with Lori Lewis as a singer,i believe that she is my most loving operating singer and Therion my best symphonic metal band ever.
Oh man, I've been waiting a lot time for you to react to this song. It's a very beautiful song with equally beautiful voices. Well worth the wait! Amazing job as always!
I remember first stumbling on Within Temptation - Mother Earth back in mid 2007ish after finding The Agonist. Found them on some obscure metal message board recommending awesome female metal vocalists and it linked some horrible pixelated version of the music video. Glad to see that they're still kicking ass!
The day this song dropped was a core memory for me, maybe me as excited as a Christmas morning. I still perfectly remember how I felt hearing it the first time
You have to check out Within Temptation featuring Howard Jones sing “Dangerous”! The song and the video is a pure adrenaline rush and their voices are spectacular together!!
I fully second this recommendation - but the correct title is "Sacrament of Wilderness" -, also since "Oceanborn" is still my overall favourite and by far most-played Nightwish-album. Here's the official music video: th-cam.com/video/4giSbC9BQLs/w-d-xo.html (Low picture resolution, but perfect sound.) If it has to be a live version, it should be this official one: th-cam.com/video/uiOCLVpJvRg/w-d-xo.html
I remember when this single came out (honestly, it feels like last week, not eight-odd years ago, haha!) Whenever there’s a collaboration by ladies in the metal world it’s bound to be pretty great, but I near lost my mind with the announcement of this one. (I may have audibly shrieked at the time.) The front women of my top two favourite bands singing together! ❤️🔥 It makes me sad that I’ll never get to see them perform it together live and I’m super jealous of those who have! Your face, once again, perfectly encapsulates everything I feel when listening/watching. 😍 And yes, no expense is seemingly ever spared as Within Temptation have developed their production and music videos over time - they’re always top notch. There are a couple of videos of the ‘making of’ this video, and one of their accompanying photoshoot which are fun to watch too.
Please consider reacting to TUOMAS HOLOPAINEN - A LIFETIME OF ADVENTURE from his 2014 solo album 'Music Inspired by the Life and Times of Scrooge' a graphic novel by Don Rosa. Recorded in London with an orchestra. Vocals by Johanna Kurkela, Mrs. Holopainen. Beautiful! Different from Nightwish but as good. Backround info: Tuomas Holopainen and Don Rosa interviewed by Radio Nova parts 1 & 2, only 5 minutes altogether.
Great collab between two great singers. You have yet to hear Tarja's deep chest notes though, she always had them but used them more in her solo careers. I think you'll enjoy Victim of Ritual (the 2016 Woodstock performance) where she has those, a song based on a sample from Ravel's Bolero. I would love your reaction to it!
I've heard this song several times. I've been a fan of Within Temptation and Nightwish since the release of their first albums respectively. I didn't realize how powerful this song was. This reaction has given me a newfound perspective on this song. And I'm not one who doesn't pay attention to a songs theme or story. But I missed just how powerful this song really is. Thank you for showing this. Now, if you would only do Steelheart. I am so surprised that in all this time you have not done so! Easily one of the best vocalist in the '80s and rarely can anyone hit a higher, cleaner note and so beautifully, then the vocalist of Steelheart. He even has a story, tragedy, that would fit well in the narrative of the reaction. I personally would start with the live version of "She's Gone". You may take issue with the fact that he chews gum and sings at the same time! LOL! But without a doubt, one of the most impressive heavy Rock vocalists of that era. I understand you always get requests on these comments. And it can certainly be overwhelming. But this is one that you do not want to miss out on. It's the only request that I can think of that you would be missing much! So, you must experience this vocalist. Research the accident that he was in that had to do with his voice. This video was well before that time. He was in a stage accident and after that, he could never sing exacly the same again. It affected him in that way. There's the link that you should consider reacting to: Steelheart "She's Gone" (Live HQ) th-cam.com/video/aJGhuD4hyag/w-d-xo.html
Sharon's voice has changed a lot over the years, she tends to sing in a much more contemporary way these days. I love all the different styles and it always impresses me how, from album to album, WT always deliver something fresh and different while keep that WT sound.
I recommend listening to Therion's "Adulruna Rediviva" (official music video version). Apart from the music, the steampunk-themed video is superb! It's a 13-minute-long "Rock (metal) Aria (opera?)"
Good morning to Elizabeth and everyone else hope you all are having great day! One word “wow’!! Can’t wait to hear them sing together! First time hearing this song! Can’t wait for Elizabeth’s analysis and reactions! ☕️✅🎧✅ Cheers, from Waterloo Ontario 🇨🇦 Mike L😎🎤🎸🎼✌🏼
I love symphonic metal! Nightwish and Within Temptation are amazing! Nothing as beautiful as a female voice over this type of music! Your explanation of what I am hearing is great. As a guitarist, I am more focused on the guitar parts. That's where my ears go automatically. I love both Sharon's and Tarja's voices. Just majestic!
Ooohh you are in for a treat. Tarja (taa-rrr-ee-a) for the new people is how SHE pronounces it, screen left Sharon screen right. Video is undercranked for slow motion effect. I mention that because the video so perfectly matches the song. Tarja music school grad. Masters degree in fact. So trained. Sharon was all natural talent with no formal music education. I have been told she has now. Maybe due to her colab with Tarja. No one who knows her seems to have a bad word about her. Can't we all use someone like that in our lives. The power of these two ladies is awesome to behold. WT like so many European metal bands can not help but be influenced by the likes of Nightwish and of course Tarja. She was in at the start of it and her discography solo is equal or surpasses NW including the 5 albums with her. You might well enjoy her auto biography, Singing in my blood. Her training BTW is in Lied singing. Certain educated/experienced classical music performers have pointed out the difference between that and opera. Which brings me to recomending...2012 Beauty & the Beat a colloboration I think you will enjoy. And relate to as well very closely. She was 5 months pregnant with Naiomi at the time of recording. Her performance ranging from metal to ballads, original music and classical. Including Mein Herr Marquis. Her natural flair for drama brings the music to life, even for those of us who know nothing about the music genre itself. Other than having the basic story explained. The blending of these two ladies really is something to behold. See you in the live stream if I can. If not I'll catch the replay. 🐙🦑🎶🎼🎵 #Releasethekraken #Let'sgoback

And I like the fact that we can learn stuff too. I love your enthusiasm when hearing a good song. It's so contagious! I have a couple of suggestions: You should listen to Jorn Lande.
God, even these many years later, hearing Tarja's singing is noticeable and gives me chills.
Yes! Finally a Within Temptation! So excited, they are amazing!
Hi Cats Chats, this is actually Elizabeth's 3rd Within Temptation video. The 1st was, "Somewhere," in Sept/2020: th-cam.com/video/T015Y59R3ls/w-d-xo.html The 2nd was, "Ice Queen," in Dec/2021: th-cam.com/video/uqNkuN2wXAk/w-d-xo.html And here is a link to Elizabeth's other reaction videos: th-cam.com/users/TheCharismaticVoicevideos Enjoy!
She's done several before. You can can search her videos.
@@paulriddle7818 I think there were only Ice Queen and Somewhere with Anneke. I honestly think she should react to more of WT songs. 😁
I love Sharon. Everything about her is fantastic.
I shall state the same about the divine TARJA 💘💘💘💘💘💘
OMG Tarja
Love this 🙂 It's so well done all the way around. Tarja and Sharon compliment each other beautifully - two legends in symphonic metal.
Sharon den Adel and Tarja Turunen together with Elizabeth!?!?!?! Mind = BLOWN 🥰🤗😍😁😇
Metal still have her... all her solo career has really hard metal in it... I saw her here in Buenos Aires last May... she sounds better than ever. 🤘🏻🖤
Wishmaster
Sleeping Sun
Passion and the Opera
Lappi 1,3
Beauty of the Beast
Angels Fall First
The Forever Moments
Walking in the air
Two for Tragedy
Deep Silent Complete........ She's my absolute favorite and I love everything she does, including all of her solo music
They couldn’t be more polar opposites but together they both feed and feel off each other’s singing voices! Fantastic duet, feels like they have been doing it for years! 🤯
Cheers,
Mike L😎👍👍👍👍
Is this for real?

How does this work? Do I texted message?

@@mikelehmann6256 You're welcome.
@@rnowak85 Tarja already changed her style a lot while being with Nightwish. Just compare Oceanborn to Century Child.
Chills every time :D Love them both! Tarja is really the OG
Another great song from within temptation is "Faster" greatest driving song ever in the history of ever !!
All hale the REAL TRUE QUEEN 👑 of Nightwish and of ALL FEMALE SYMPHONIC METAL SINGERS!!!!!!!!, the very beautiful looking and very unique voice of the enchanting TARJA!!!!!!!!😀👍👍👍👍🤘
Your opinion. Nothing more, nothing less.
Dude, not cool. Tarja and Floor are friends, I doubt she'd appreciate you taking a cheap shot at her friend especially for the purposes of elevating her. Did you not listen to that part about women in metal supporting each other rather than tearing each other down? Don't be That Guy.
There’s the usually Tarjan spouting shit.
Sharon and Tarja are amazing metalsinger....!!! This reaction produce me Goosebumps...!
Oh I can’t wait! Are you going to interview one of them too?
Two of the most incredible singers united in a great production! Absolutely epic!
I always get chills at that last note
This song made me emotional and teary eyed, wow an epic masterpiece.
I love how much you love what you do. Your joy is a treasure
I wish I loved anything as much as Elizabeth loves music. It's so great seeing just pure joy coming from music.
I love how at the end of the video you realize the kids are them and they’ve now grown up 🥲🌱
Finally, I've been waiting for this one for ages!
This song never seizes to give me goosebumps.
The 2 are amazing... their voices show ease of the great work they do... better than other genres of music
For so many people, this collab was a dream we never thought would happen. I remember screaming when it was announced. Thanks for covering it!
Cool! That was probably my favorite song of the year, when it came out. Amazing song and video, post-apocalyptic and sorta Fallout-like.
It would be nice to have analysis of early Nightwish song with Tarja, where the true power of symphonic metal can be heard.
I Second! Tarja's voice was so much darker and ethereal back then, and that combined with the power metal they had going on at that time, so iconic and so good
Maby deep silent complete would fit the bill🤘🤘
@@rokker1976 yes please, the amount of emotion in that song is amazing!
The true power of symphonic metal can be heard with Floor Jansen all right.
@@Muschelschubs3r Floor Jansen is good bur for me is different type singer
I remember when I first found your channel and saw you had analyzed some Within Temptation and Nightwish songs, this song was the one song I wanted to you breakdown so bad. So glad you have finally gotten to it. I always imagined Sharon and Tarja as Valkyries singing songs for the fallen. Such epic voices.
I can't wait to FINALLY see these two together on stage at the end of the year! I might be a 38-year-old metalhead, I can't promise I won't shed a few tears of joy...
I have been listening to this song for years. It’s epic!!! So glad your reviewing it. Their vocals are dynamic together.
So happy you finally did this song. Have been waiting years for your to cover this song. It's sooooo good. Really gives you the feelz.
Within Temptation songs to explore from their older album "the heart of everything" - Hand of Sorrow and The Truth Beneath the Rose. Tarja to explore from Nightwish era of "Century Child" - Ever Dream and Ocean Soul.
this is one of my favorite songs by Within Temptation. Great arrangement!
Sharon and Tarja are like 2 jewels in a golden necklace made from the other WT band members. A perfect combination.
That perfect blend of Sharon's sweet vocals and Tarja's power in this strings/heavy metal song is just absolutely epic!!
Tea time interview with Tarja! That would be so amazing. 😍
This song is up there with Stairway To The Sky and Shot In The Dark among Within Temptation's best songs. Absolutely awesome song for karaoke too, highly recommend singing this.
When I tell you this was a legendary duet, it was a LEGENDARY duet. SUCH a big collaboration back in 2013 (?)
i hope you'll react to more studio stuff from tarja, when you said her voice had more 'loft' i was like 'ah yes this is the word i've been looking for'. it is always hard for me to put in words what tarja's voice sounds like(especially on early nightwish albums). yes it has a dark rich colour but her voice sounds like it's coming from a place i don't know how to describe xD i'm just a layman when it comes to music but i enjoy her vocals immensely.
I'm so excited to see this reaction! ❤️❤️❤️
I love your reactions so much. You seem so excited about all of these songs and it never fails to put a smile on my face.
Watch the live performance from 2019 when Tarja showed up on the stage. You'll find it as Master of Rock 2019.
Thank You!
Next reaction MUST be:
Within Temptation "Faster". Sharon is incredibly brilliant there and reaches the stars during the chorus!!🙏🤟
I am SO HAPPY that you got to this video! Thank You!
Within Temptation did a song with Howard Jones formerly of killswitch engage, called dangerous. It is on hydra, the same as this
Oh man, I've been waiting a lot time for you to react to this song.
Love Sharon's voice, Thank you very much for bringing this video
Aaaaaaaaaaaawww, you look so happy ❤️. 'Our' Tarja is fabulous and Sharon also. They really make a damn excellent duo.
The day this song dropped was a core memory for me, maybe me as excited as a Christmas morning. I still perfectly remember how I felt hearing it the first time
Tarja and Sharon duet was worth the wait -- great song and video to match
You have to check out Within Temptation featuring Howard Jones sing “Dangerous”! The song and the video is a pure adrenaline rush and their voices are spectacular together!!
a great Nightwish song you should check out is Sacrament in the Wilderness. From 1999's Oceanborn album, Tarja's voice is so powerful in it.
It's such a good song and I am a sucker for operatic lines as well, also I freaking love both singers so freaking much awesome your reacting too it.
And yes, no expense is seemingly ever spared as Within Temptation have developed their production and music videos over time - they’re always top notch.
Backround info: Tuomas Holopainen and Don Rosa interviewed by Radio Nova parts 1 & 2,
only 5 minutes altogether.
This!
Excellent suggestion. I concur. 👍
Best Within Temptation song ever. Thank you so much for this one!
I love how you play the role of a magnifier on the song's hidden emotions. Just awesome. Thank you.
There's the link that you should consider reacting to:
Steelheart "She's Gone" (Live HQ)

Loved your analysis. I guess this track is one of the best pieces that this genre ever delivered.
Great Video. Love both Within Temptation and Tarja. Everything OK with your eye? Wish you well.
If you are open to do more Within Temptation episodes I can suggest Fire and Ice song by Within Temptation. Her vocals is amazing in that song.
New-ish subscriber here. I have to say I love your channel. I've been watching several of your VODs, from reaction videos to interviews and it's all great content. And I like the fact that we can learn stuff too. I love your enthusiasm when hearing a good song. It's so contagious! I have a couple of suggestions: You should listen to Jorn Lande. He's a great, very expressive and soulful vocalist (Ark, Masterplan, Jorn; etc). Also Cristina Scabbia from Lacuna Coil is among the best vocalists out there. Both are certainly worthy of being analyzed. Grats for having an addictive channel!
