One of the secrets for better control is flying close. It's not just showing off or tempting fate. Visibility = control. Just two problems. Hitting the ground. Hitting yourself. Flying over a hole/canyon or standing on a platform takes care of the first problem. The 2nd problem I leave to your discretion. If you "master" all fundamentals(incl/piroflips) the only thing you need to worry is mechanical failure, and avoid maneuvers with momentum(hurricane).
