I worked at Truck/RV Wash for 22 years supervising and Managing at the highest quality of work in California out of Fresno. a buddy of mine which was the senior manager at the time moved on to open His own metal polishing/detailing shop I followed him and did that for 4 years as manager til I got a job with the Post Office for benefits. But I still have the drive for detailing on the side as a hobby but I have a dream and a itch to own my own car wash business. This is motivating.
I just bought a shut down carwash , been down 5 years, all the equipment is there,minus a few hoses. Needs a lil work but i think it will be good. Absolutely. I could only dream of living 3 mins from my washes. I’m an hour n half away. Just learn the business so if something breaks you know how to fix it. Once it’s up and running to its fullest potential then it’s just maintaining and keeping it nice and clean so between the two of you should be able to work. Plus if you hire a worker to clean up then it’ll take that pressure off.

Most retail businesses are lucky if they make 10% profit by the end of the year. 20% and you doing awesome. I would say at best the place might profit $800 a week average with that amount of business.

there are so many car washes in that area, surprised they can make it. What's the car wash saturation limit for a given area? they are such easy structures to build, can't be hard to put one up on a vacant lot, I bet the permits for a new car wash are hard to get. can't you just use one big triplex pump for all the bays? what about solar water heating? after 10 years you'd probably make more off selling the land than the car wash $

I think that is the one thing that makes nervous about investing in a car wash is trusting someone else to maintain and collect the money without stealing it.

there are so many car washes in that area, surprised they can make it. What's the car wash saturation limit for a given area? they are such easy structures to build, can't be hard to put one up on a vacant lot, I bet the permits for a new car wash are hard to get.
can't you just use one big triplex pump for all the bays? what about solar water heating?
after 10 years you'd probably make more off selling the land than the car wash $
do you go at a different time to collect and drive a diff car so no one sees a habit ? but with those arms dont think any one is going to mess with you

u have to consider taxes , rent or property tax , maintenance depreciation, the washing liquids , water cost etc..
so what is reallly the profit of such a business ? because the 4212 is turnover not profit

I don’t count daily. Once a week. I pay bills at end of month and keep the difference.

Correct. I don’t count the tokens in the total. Just cash and quarters

I am still learning about the car wash business. Is the reason your car wash has tokens because you don't want people using your car wash for breaking bills into quarters? I assume that is right.

I think that is the one thing that makes nervous about investing in a car wash is trusting someone else to maintain and collect the money without stealing it.
