    After I pull the flywheel assembly into the left crankcase it wobbles a bunch. I can’t tell if it’s normal for the flywheel assembly to wobble when it’s only supported by the timken bearing or if I’m putting it together wrong. I never took the outer race or left timken bearing half out of the crankcase and both spring clips are in place, so that seems fine. I never took the timken bearing half off the sprocket shaft, and it looks pressed to the flywheel shoulder. I used the bearing spacer that was already installed. I can’t see what I’m missing, but it doesn’t seem right.

      I think I figured it out. I didn’t have the right tool so I was using big washers set on the boss to pull the shaft. I rewatched the video and found a smaller pipe to pull the shaft against the left side timken. That seems to have sucked it all together tiiite.

    What is your opinion on anaerobic gasket maker to seal the case halves?

      if you build the motor correctly it does not leak. i use what works for me, do what you want when you do the job. there are always more than one way to do things, but not all of them work the same.

    why isn't loctite required on the case bolts?

    • @TatroMachine
      @TatroMachine  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      because i tighten them. if a part doesn't move much you don't need extra holding power. if the part is flimsy and or vibrates a bunch then you need some help to keep things tight. just because the bolt can't turn does not mean that it stays tight. metal gives and it gets loose anyway. any movement of the part or bolt and it will come out.

    What would happen if you didn't use 3Bond? I mean they leak anyway, would the oil pour out? Isn't there a gasket made for this here? Did the factory use a gasket sealer?

    Why not take the 30 seconds and remove the pistons instead of clanging them around....Not to mention all the dirt that collects in the ringlands

      30 seconds my ass. what dirt in the ring lands. your not messing with my motors are you. the nicks are in places that do not matter when the motor runs.
