I find winding backing on off the top of the spool puts twists in it , far better to put a wooden spoon or similar through spool get someone to hold flat or hold it between feet and wind it on parallel, enjoy the video tight lines
A very informative watch. As you said everyone is different, some like loops...some don't. This looks very good also. It's like Marmite you either like it or.. Do you do home visits...call outs❤️
Hi. Why not use proper braided loops made for the job. Easier and quicker. My only issue is that the tippet ring will cut through the fly line over Time. What was the make of fly line you use and how much h is it please.
@@malcolmism6 good morning thank you for the comment 👍👍 with most fly lines coming with a welded loop i was tying my leader directly to the loop and it was cutting into the fly line. I dont like the loop to loop knots so i was using the braided loops dont get me wrong they have worked for years and do and excellent job but after seeing the Vision brand of fly lines they use this method with the ring on the end and for me it suits my style where i can just tie the leader to the ring and not worry about the line cutting into the welded loop. I think the ring should be find the edges on it are rounded so it shouldnt cut into the fly line. Ive used it a few times now and caught lots of fish with no signs of it cutting the fly line 🤞🤞
@@malcolmism6 the lines im currently using are Airflo sinking lines and Celestial floating and intermediate lines extremely good value for money and in my opinion far better than airflo floating lines. The Celestial lines have zero memory and have stayed perfectly straight for months now. Its the ‘ Comet ‘ range i use the link is below if you would like to have a look 👍👍 www.celestialflylines.co.uk/lines?store-page=Comet-c154861534

Totally agree 👍👍 if im loading reels up with mono or braid i usually do it that way too just rushing in this video and forgot 🙈
What i would have done is the end that you brought through the tippet ring cut it on an angle, other than that great job mate
Thanks a very very good video
Nice job

What does the floating line float like with a tipping ring on now
With the tippet ring being so small ive not noticed any difference the line still floats. I was using it fishing dries yesterday with no problems 👍👍
