@@BlixTheGoblin corpsegrinder era is just silly and production sucks ass. Barnes era production is great... But Barnes vocals are just generic. Nobody sounds like John Gallagher
When I first heard a song from this band many many many years ago on a compilation cd... To be honest I wasn't sold on the band and vocals either... Just didn't stick. But over the years hearing them again and agsin and different songs and albums, I can truthfully say Dying Fetus are among my top 5 favorite Deathmetal bands! I have all their albums and love everything they put out! So fricken talented for a three piece and love the deep grunts and dual vocals now! They definitely grew on me so give them another chance! You won't be disappointed!
Dying Fetus is a very intense kind of death metal, very technical, complex... and for every music you gotta read the lyrics while listening to the song. When you listen to a death metal, much power lies is in the lyrics and you realize that when you hear the vocalists literally "spitting out" those words. Then will you understand the whole, together with the vocal+lyrics combination. And those those riffs, drumming sections, smaller guitar solos are just complementing all this. Try e.g. "From womb to waste". Of course when it's about death metal, brutal and/or technical death metal (e.g. Nile, Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, etc.), you need to listen and read the lyrics 3-5 times... sometimes :D 'Cause sometimes it's hard to follow. But of course it's basically not for everyone... just fyi, it's not a kind of music you'll dig for the first time :) Oh, and if you're reading it guys... I see you liked Wintersun (blessed you are for discovering the band! :D ), you could try Bal-Sagoth. They're not so easy to dig, but in some parts very similar to Wintersun (as Bal-Sagoth was one of the most influental band for Wintersun, together with Devin Townsend, etc.), but the lyrics again... those horror-fantasy Bal-Sagoth lyrics are eating themselves into your mind, if you give them the time - and the Lovecraftian topic interests you.
honestly, no matter what kind of music you listen to or like you have to appreciate dying fetus. when i was younger i never understood death metal at all but as ive gotten older its pure appreciation for the music bands like this create. fantastic shit if u ask me
I love those slam riffs too that you pointed out at 4:10. Dying fetus are known for those and breakdowns, and are pretty awesome tech-death musicians for only 3 guys. go see them live if get the chance
guys this is pure death metal :-) this is death metal vocal :-) legends of death metal like ... cannibal corpse, suffocation (early years" effigy the forgoten album) or nile have similar vocal :-) because.. this is death metal :-)
If one would bring the quality of Napalm Death to the level of Dying Fetus, I think the singing would be very similar. Because the song of Napalm Death is very old and of the same quality. Well, in the end it is a matter of taste. :)
Exactly, it comes down to taste and preference. I still think their vocal range is different, but in the end like you said it comes down to taste and preference and what you are used to. Sometimes it takes you several plays before you really get to appreciate the band. I wasn't a huge fan of Goatwhore when I first heard them, and now they are growing one me.
Well i know what you mean . . . sometimes a band wins in a second or third round when you hear it. :) Greatingd from a german Metal head to another Metal head
I think the rhythm in which John does the verses is better in Fixated In Devastation to give an example. He's irreplaceable anyway, but I think I understand why some people don't like the way he sounds in this song.
I like your channel guys, just a heads up: when you talk you should pause the music so that we can hear better what you say and also to avoid copyright problems! Cheers!
man i like all type of music from 70's music to rap all the way to death metal.. like the start of death metal in 85-86. U gotta know its genere to understand it.. Low growls are different than growls in modern metal. John G vocals are good. Shit he probably could do bdm
the most people on the comments said "owww how didnt you like dying fetus, why do you hate them",look i am a big dying fetus fan but everyone doesdnt have to like the things that you like, you know, they dont hate them, they just didnt like it,like what i have said,i am a big fan of dying fetus but they dont have to like it,so please stop sayin that "owww you have to love them",they didnt evven say that "dying fetus is a bad band" or something, they just didnt like it,why dont you understand that
You dont have any malevolent creation??? React to the song: Malevolent Creation - The Will To Kill Its a song of one of their best 2 albums. It is extremely brutal, while being absolutely NOT boring. I'm very sure also your son will love this song.
I ain't gonna lie Lot of ppl Prefer the Bassist...Vocals over the main Guy..but overall They're a Decent Deathmetal Band......Not the BEST but Good enough....Cant fault they're Technical Skillz.. annnnd... ya I'd See them again....
Some people just need a little time to get used to the weird vocals and only get into the song after a few listenings, since you did like the music I'd suggest you get back once or twice to the song ;-)
I agree, not a big fan of 'the cookie monster' style vocals. (Unless the band is Macabre, then it's ok, lol). But yea, the guitar and drums are impressive. So, dudes....Think it might be time to get your son into some of the "guitar gods'? Guess the obvious first choice to start with is Steve Vai - For The Love Of God. Then maybe the epic 'Cliffs of Dover' by Eric Johnson. That is if you're not even into them, (but I can't imagine you're not for some reason). Also, don't take this the wrong way, and I do enjoy you guys' banter, but sometimes while explaining something about the song, a certain great part of the song gets overlooked/missed. You really can't do that with Cliffs, and For The Love Of God, lol. Again, no offense, and I really do enjoy watching you guys talk to each other, there's a mutual respect and I dig that. Just some songs, you can miss a great part if you take your eye off the ball for even one second.
Man i don't understand why people hate growly vocals.
We don't hate it. We just didn't like this specific one.
Most people who TRY to listen to metal always expect something like WaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAa!!!!!!!!!!!!!
when people who don't understand the growling technique, then they quickly disagree with it. over all, theses people are naive to music
@@APREACTS grow a pair. It’s metal
Cuz they are Canadian
Different vocal da fuck you can never replace John Gallagher
You like cannibal corpse but not dying fetus😂😂 cannibal corpse is good but these guys write better I am a fan of John Gallagher and pat obrien
ikr he said he didnt like the vocals but cannibal does the same thing.

I love both cannibal is my all time favorite band though.
Those vocals are truly beautiful.
Some of the best in the genre imo
That's death metal growl, folks.
They're suppose to be like that.
Was gonna subscribe at one point and now I'm glad I didn't.
Damn this song has amazing riffs and grooves! Btw I think the vocals has something, you know it follow the rythm so well
The guitar and drums were insane. The guitar riffs were incredible, even the solo was very very good. That is a fact!!!
The fun fact is the solo was on both Guitar and bass
good video and good vocals they one of my favo death metal bands
What were they expecting from a band called Dying Fetus? Dio highs?
It's definitely not for everyone, but the vocalist is really good in my opinion. But we like what we like at the end of the day! :P
You are 100% correct, everyone likes what they like. The world would be a better place if everyone had this approach.
yeah probably dude! Do you think you could react to, EQUILIBRIUM - Rise Again? its got death growls, but is very melodic and folky! :D
We would be glad to do it...not sure exactly when, but I can promise you we will...
Their voices are perfect for this carnage!
gallagher its an amazing vocalist.. u can not dig it thats all.. you will grow dude :D

Hmmm don´t like the vocals . . . but like it from Napalm Death if i remember it right!?
Anyway . . . :)
I don't think the two vocals are equal at all. That is just my opinion, you are free to disagree. :-)
