Son of Sardar is a remake of Telugu film Maryada Ramanna, Rowdy Rathore is a remake of Telugu film Vikramarkudu, Vikram vedha is a remake of a Tamil film, Drisham and Drisham 2 are remakes of Malayalam films. Kick is a remake of Telugu film Kick, Most of the Jitendra films are remakes of Telugu films. Earlier there was no exposure to internet so people thought that every Bollywood film is original but most of the films are remakes of South.

I am a north indian, and i love south movies more than Bollywood movies, irrespective of language barrier. I love the stories in these movies, how they always bring the culture in the movie, how they always connect family angle, and the over-the-top action in these movies(which simply conveys that movies are for fun, entertainment and not to learn any real life lessons). I used to watch Southern movies way before bahubali was created. And i love how the celebrity from southern Bharat are more rooted to our culture and history than any other part of the nation.

To everyone who doesn't know, RRR might be a fictional film, but the character of Ram is actually inspired by a real life freedom fighter Alluri Seetha Rama Raju and the Bheem charector is inspired from an original character Komaram Bheem. It is a misconception that the charector ram is inspired from Lord Sri Ram. Alluri Seeta Rama Raju has a great history and fought many battles for freedom, people still say that he knows every inch of forests and no one can catch him in a dense forest. He is so sharp aimed and so quick that no one can ever estimate his next move or even the direction of his next arrow. So does Komaram Bheem he contributed everything he had for the sake of his people and fought against Nizams too. So plz try to know more about the truth before spreading negativity. I think all the freedom fighters are pride of India and we must glorify everyone. We call Mahatma Gandhi as father of the nation not just of Gujarat right, the same way everyone who fought and sacrificed their lives for future generations, that is us! must be respected equally.

Great video. What Telugu cinema did is an achievement not just to Telugu industry but to every regional industry in India. Back in the day, my frnds in New Jersey used to think India was just Bollywood and that is how Bollywood always promoted themselves - they never credited their success as Indian cinema's success. But today south cinema is acknowledging their success as Indian cinema's success. This is what Bharat is. I am from North India but I am Soo proud of the south Indian film industry they are so humble and grounded people Ram Charan sir was at international level he could have address his movie as south Indian or Tolly Wood but he said Indian film industry and respect everyone whereas if Bollywood movie will be there then they will definitely not say anything good about other industry and will show arrogance and portrait themselves as they are the only film industry in India. Being from a hindi speaking state, it is really disappointing to see what type of critics represent us. The lady in the panel, whoever she is, having such outrageous comment, does not understand to be proud of someone roots. What is the harm in comparing heroes in a fantasy movie to the Gods like Ram and Bheem? This is just a callback to the epics that Indians already know. Also that they were just compared figuratively and not that they were incarnation or anything. Also, that the characters in real life had actually such outfits and weapons, which makes this comparison more apt. There have been many such examples in the past. Like Ram-bharat milap, or Ram-Lakshman ki jodi, or a guy with many female followers being called Kishan Kanhaiya.....or a fight being called mahabharat....loads of examples. Foreign movies have been comparing their characters to Jesus or Moses, so it's not India specific. Also, that this does not belittle other faith. Only people influenced by hatred would have such opinion.
Sad part is.. that is the real look of Alluri Sita Ramaraju our freedom fighter. RRR team dint put it as a strategy. They genuinely made him look like the character. His fiancé is actually Sita. Simple fact is that during 90s or early 2000s there were not many sources to watch movies from other parts of the country. People watched what's in theatres or came on TV and not many South movies came across because of language barrier. Unlike today where a lot of South movies are dubbed really well and comes in Hindi as a theatrical release, it didn't happen in the early days. So Rohit Shetty's comments show how ignorant he is and how they can't accept that there are better filmmakers and actors

Singham (2011) is an Indian Hindi movie which was directed by Rohit Shetty (this is the information from Google that I have got) Pretty much most of the South Indian audience out here knows about the South Indian Blockbuster movie which was released in 2010 - Singham(2010) in which Suriya was Lead Actor. Rohit Shetty mentioned that there will be time for Bollywood **maybe** in the future, but he has himself made a remake of the south Indian blockbuster movie Singham(2010) - Information according to Google. The fundamental issue is that.. Hindi is a regional language. Just because 43% of India has it as mother tongue doesn't mean it represents whole India, Very few Hindi natives are able to see the reality of this issue. Rest are trying to impose it to whole country. There's no need for a single language to whole India, if at all needed in some situations English is already there and far better as if it's valid all over world. Note : English is also the official language of some Indian states, remember that If you say English is not a language of India, Hindi also isn't the language of many parts in India. I think it's a vocal minority from the North in these interviews. I personally know many people who loved RRR. My 3-year-old daughter is crazy about RRR and makes me watch parts of RRR with her almost every day.

I am a north indian, and i love south movies more than Bollywood movies, irrespective of language barrier.
I love the stories in these movies, how they always bring the culture in the movie, how they always connect family angle, and the over-the-top action in these movies(which simply conveys that movies are for fun, entertainment and not to learn any real life lessons). I used to watch Southern movies way before bahubali was created. And i love how the celebrity from southern Bharat are more rooted to our culture and history than any other part of the nation.

It is a misconception that the charector ram is inspired from Lord Sri Ram. Alluri Seeta Rama Raju has a great history and fought many battles for freedom, people still say that he knows every inch of forests and no one can catch him in a dense forest. Being from a hindi speaking state, it is really disappointing to see what type of critics represent us. The lady in the panel, whoever she is, having such outrageous comment, does not understand to be proud of someone roots. What is the harm in comparing heroes in a fantasy movie to the Gods like Ram and Bheem? This is just a callback to the epics that Indians already know. Also that they were just compared figuratively and not that they were incarnation or anything. Also, that the characters in real life had actually such outfits and weapons, which makes this comparison more apt.
There have been many such examples in the past. Like Ram-bharat milap, or Ram-Lakshman ki jodi, or a guy with many female followers being called Kishan Kanhaiya.....or a fight being called mahabharat....loads of examples.
Foreign movies have been comparing their characters to Jesus or Moses, so it's not India specific.
Also, that this does not belittle other faith. Only people influenced by hatred would have such opinion.
Sad part is.. that is the real look of Alluri Sita Ramaraju our freedom fighter. RRR team dint put it as a strategy. They genuinely made him look like the character. His fiancé is actually Sita. Simple fact is that during 90s or early 2000s there were not many sources to watch movies from other parts of the country. People watched what's in theatres or came on TV and not many South movies came across because of language barrier. Unlike today where a lot of South movies are dubbed really well and comes in Hindi as a theatrical release, it didn't happen in the early days. So Rohit Shetty's comments show how ignorant he is and how they can't accept that there are better filmmakers and actors

Coming from North India and growing up while consciously/subconsciously consuming Hindi cinematic content and then getting introduced to Tamil,Telugu Kannada,Malayali cinema in my late 20s,I get very happy to see how much the cinema from South has evolved throughout the years and how far ahead it has gotten with every aspect of film making.I have no qualms in accepting what the The South Indian films have done for Indian Cinema to make it stand out on the global stage. This is called the real change.And yes Films from the South are leading and will continue to lead !!
