Great video. I'm one of the weirdos that has a LCR in 327. I reload so cost is a non-issue, and actually cheaper. I agree wholeheartedly. I have a 22 LCR as well. Range sessions start with the 22, and then 98gr Speer HBWC in longs. I finish the session with full bore loaded 327. My defensive rounds are loaded between an H&R Mag, and 327 around 32K psi. I look at it like lifting weights. Need to keep the muscle memory, and strength in the hands, forearms, and trigger finger. I saw the light 3 yrs ago, and rely on revolvers for self defense, autos for fun. Thanks, keep the vids coming. You're a natural. Just ordered a Lipsey SP-101 in 327 off of Gunbroker. Just came out. 3" half lug barrel, and blued. Very Purdy, and should tame the 327 down quite a bit. Just turned 61, need all the help I can get. LMAO
I love my SP101 but prefer to shoot .38 rounds if I'll be at the range for a while. That said, when carrying it, .357 is always chambered. Great video, thank you.
.25 or better at 7 yards is a good goal. Sub .20 or better split double action is a good longer term goal. His grip is pretty dialed in to achieve the gun returning without disturbing the connection. Maintaining a strong support hand grip that doesn’t let the hands come apart is key.
In theory 15 oz + 158 @ 800 fps (actual) vs 25 oz + 125 @ 1300 fps (actual) should result in less recoil in the SP101 (without accounting for bullet drag difference between LSWC-HP and SJHP). 110 SJHP in SP101 would be better yet. They are downloaded to avoid flamecutting. 110 @ 1295 fps (rated) 125 @ 1450 fps (rated)
Interesting. A 2.25" barrel seems great for 9mm, but for .357 Mag a 3" barrel seems ideal as a 4" barrel is too long for IWB carry around town, if ok for open carry in an OWB holster in rural environments.
I have both and disagree completely. Sp101 is much heavier trigger but it’s perfect for pocket carry without a holster. Still better than any SW, and the gp100 is like a performance center trigger at least right out of the box
Awesome information, thank you.

Dude shoots a sp101 faster than most double tap a Glock 19 👍
Great advice. Many thanks!
nice and smooth
I guess the question is what would you consider acceptable follow up time?
I’d say with that particular model revolver, his times with .357 magnum are more than acceptable.
@@Shot_Gunner absolutely. I was asking what he thinks for my own knowledge

@@VittorioE17 thank you
Excellent.
How would you compare the recoil of 125 gr sjhp 357 mag in the sp101 to the recoil of a 158 +p 38 special in a s&w 642

I pack a stainless police service six with a 2 3/4 inch barrel stoked with 125 grain .357 magnums, follow up shots are quick.
The 110s are all downloaded to prevent flame cutting so tend to be more manageable in the snubs than a full power 125.

Trigger on that sp101 is much better than GP100.

I would not want to be in your line of fire! 😵🤡
wind noise needs to be mitigated
