- The Helen Hayes Hospital SubAcute Rehabilitation Unit offers an expanded level of therapeutic care to individuals in need of short-term rehab before returning home. The goal is to restore maximum functioning in the shortest period of time.
SubAcute Rehabilitation is an ideal option for patients who may be medically deconditioned due to illness or medical complications, those recovering from hip or knee replacement surgery, fractures and other orthopedic conditions.
Question from a current OT student: why isn't she wearing a gait belt?
Can there be movement in the patient's hand after brain stroke, can the hand be cured?
How much does this rehabilitation cost
Hi! Treatment will vary according to each patient's individual needs. We'd be very happy to speak with you if you are interested in learning more about this treatment at HHH. Please give us a call at 800-70-REHAB or send us an email at info@helenhayeshospital.org.
2 questions: 1. What level SCI is this client or is this after a stroke? 2. Why would she be wearing crock-like footwear instead of something with more stability (e.g. sneaker)?
Unfortunately we are unable to reveal that personal health
information for this patient. Please less us know if we can be of further
help!

There is no exact time frame that speech will return, as every patient and every stroke will be different. We encourage every patient and family to be in close contact with their care team for more information regarding their individual situation.
