Actually I like the Vietnamese campaign quite a lot and kinda glad that the campaign is still as hard as I experienced before. Sure, infinite spawn is annoying and restricts your playstyle, but in the context of fighting against Gargantuan Chinese Empire it just seems fitting. The next one should be interesting if my memory serves me right.
This was an incredible map. Superbly designed with endless stream of enemies in all directions. The first thing to do is to build 2 Castles in each base - Orange and Red. Supported by 1 villager and 2 Battle Elephants garrisoned in the castle. The villager to repair the castle and Battle Elephants to deal with those pesky Battering Rams. Once both Orange and Red can take care of themselves, then u take a good army and start dismantling every Vietnam Village. Establish a trade route with 10 Trade Carts with the Village in east which has a market. This ensures u need not worry bout Gold. Before that last 5th village, i went on a diversion and took out that Malay base on the island. Then gave the special relic to the monks below. Then i sieged the Ming Army Blue in multiple locations. This took time as Ming Army has a lot of production buildings. Once all Blue is taken out, then liberate the last Vietnam Village. This was more satisfying way for me than to finish quickly. Loved it!
Awesome job man, I was going to post my similar strategy. I defeated Blue. (To see if it could be done. It can!) :) Infinite wood / food / gold + buy stone. Massive stone defenses / castles on map. Lure enemy into kill zones - then swiftly counter-attack. That's how you win. How I differed: We take out Pirates First. Gotta do it QUICK. Dock was my 3rd building, SW corner. 3 Fishing boats. 30 Villagers ---> Feudal. Majority on Wood. (Don't build many farms - won't need em.) :) At Feudal, immediate University + 3 towers at my dock. Heated shot ASAP. Malay pirates attack in force w fire ships, but towers take them out in 2-3 hits. Lure them to the "kill zone" (3 towers + your starting archers in them.) Only explore map now with fish boat - once you have a good kill zone. Find the island. Make 12 warships, 2 transports. Take at least 6 monks + 6 elephants to the island. Convert as many ratan archers as you can, elephants + ships attack towers. SAVE THE DOCKS. WARSHIPS ON "No attack" - unless ordered. Just target ships + towers. 2 trade cogs. (1 to each dock.) HUGE early advantage on gold production now. Now, to get our 2nd huge gold advantage, we attack the village to the North of our base. Take your army (w many, many monks) - and approach N village. Send 4x suicide L. Cav in there, to pull out the enemy. Elephant wall in front of monks - convert as many knights as you can, elephants / rattan archers kill others. All 12 warships simultaneously attack Ming ships on the coast, next, the tower near coast. Let all the warships die. Delete survivor ships after the battle. Congrats! You have MILLIONS of tons of food in the form of free fish. No farms needed for a LONG time. Keep a lot of loggers instead of farmers. Sell excess wood for stone. Make 4-6 trade carts and send them to N village. The "Special Holy" relic - give that to the green monks. Not the other relics. They are for YOU. :) Send villagers all over to make outposts - so you see the cyan patrols / blue invasions. Cyan may kill outposts - blue, mysteriously, will not. In the early game - DO NOT OVERSCOUT the map. Once you find extra blue fortresses, they seem to "activate." And send excessive waves/swarms. Example - don't scout the extreme NW corner of the map - and blue won't attack orange from that direction. Not until you go there. Go figure. Place 2 monks and 4 villagers in each ally camp. Monks simply healing your allies helps them a TON. Villagers repair their towers (Not their walls! You can replace them with better.) Let your allies' blacksmith /homes be destroyed. REPAIR THEIR UNIT PRODUCTION BUILDINGS. If your allies lose ANY of those - start game over. Make many, many extra towers for your allies. At least one tower should have 5 rattan archers, at each ally base. Create long wall "tubes" leading to your allies gates for kill zones. Funnel the enemies into small areas where your allies elephants will wreak havoc. Line the kill tunnel with towers. Don't bother to build any more gates - they just go down. Instead, leave walls open, so they funnel where you want them to condense. Just like a real guerilla war - you bait the enemy into ambushes. Draw them with suicide charges, and retreat to kill zone. Light Cav is actually your best unit in this scenario. They cost food-only: You have tons of food. They are what you need to take out cho ko nu, siege, and skirms. Do not be afraid to make groups of 20 L Cav - in order to suicide-charge them. In fact, that's what you need to do OFTEN - for victory. Rams/scorpions are a waste of your time. So is infantry. I had some success with tons of monks + tons of archers + several elephants...but they wiped.....often. The gold cost was enormous. I lost games re-making my army, running out of resources. I won - when I realized all you need to do is this: Build castles/towers near your allies. Once you do, ez mode. Repair after all their successive, ineffective waves. Next - after a wave, send in 25+ suicide light cav and 40 petards. The cav distracts their units, to save petards. I split them in groups of 20. Each petard group has a different target. Go straight for blue's unit production buildings - towers don't matter. Hit the castles, hit the barracks. Hit the siege workshops. Blue will never repair, or rebuild. This scenario becomes easier and easier, as you remove their ability to spawn units. Don't give any resources to your allies - they have infinite resources. So does blue. I'm sure you could do this entire scenario with only L Cav, Monks, villagers, and petards, and a few archers for towers. In fact, that would probably make this scenario incredibly easy and cheesy. ;)
Haha, finally a mission that made Viper sweat a bit. I thought this mission was quite tough, even on moderate difficulty. Philipp Hanke He struggled a lot in Jeanne campaign, as well at some of the most annoyingly difficult scenarios in Forgotten. This might be one of the hardest so far in Rise of Rajas, though.
I actually eliminated both Mings, steamrolled them with elephants and rams, building castles behind, really hard to mount a strong attack because of difficult terrain, had to harvest trees to make room. The relic you must give the priests is the one held by the pirates in the eastern part of the map. It's not really worth the hassle but you get some really buffed up monks for it with no population use. I made this quest last. Also all of green's buildings switch to your control once you do that. Maybe if you do that before liberating all the villages they will get destroyed by the patrols. Before that secure both allies with one or two castles each to deal with the endless unit spam.
Don't stress on this mission just tap enter and type black death and tap enter it is done..... Note: this code works for only frequent missions only...
After finally destroying the pirates and getting the relic-cart, I sent it on its own to the green monks, but it got captured by the monks before reaching the monastery for the trigger. I still wanted to see what the bonus would be, so I started to mangonel down the green monks until only one monk was left and I got control over the relic-cart. Little did I know that I would have got control over the now dead op monks - rip 11
Even if you build smth to 2% they won't be able to move through it. He built a cage and finished the castle. The AI wasn't designed for this kind of micros, so the pikeman ended up attacking the castle instead.
The 2nd mission of this campaign is very tough. I have tried a lot but won by 2 castles standing...... Upload the 2nd mission pls in your gameplay.....
Around 35:00 "Our population's a little looow," AFTER killing off a female villager, if I heard correctly. One who so bravely helped build a castle. That was wrong. No ethics?
47:11 is the reason AK/RotR campaigns are worse than their predecessors in AoC. Not a single AI had an eco to raid! Stupid unit spam is not wrong on principle, there were a few interesting missions among them, but it gets SO STALE after a while. Taking away the need for AI eco makes those new campaigns easier to build and balance, sure, but it takes away so much depth and restricts your playstyle.
True, but it take the cheese strats away, being even averagely good means, you can just kill all enemy villagers from the start and win the campaign that way. You could see this pattern in multiple Viper Campaign videos. Giving less eco to AI also makes the map maker less to worry about (AI behaviout, BUGs, etc) and its overall easier. If you think its that easy to create maps you want, go forth and try, Editor and Steam Workshop is open to you :-).
Not sure where the "make it better yourself" is coming from here, because I have never stated that it was easy, never argued that they should have done it my way because it's easy or that I could do it better. Since I pay money for their product, can I not reasonably expect it to be above the average quality of a mod, or that they designed their content with ideas like "is this fun to play?" or "does this unnecessarily streamline the game?" in mind instead of "can I really be bothered to do it properly?"? Exploiting the AI is always going to be possible, but changing the game from fundamentally symmetric to fundamentally asymmetric when it does not have the necessary depth to make that asymmetric design interesting, is just going to serve a portion of the player base of AoC (maybe it's 10%, maybe 90%, I don't know) and leave the rest annoyed and frustrated. Specifically, it leaves the people who like to build up and smother the enemy with a gigantic army happy, but is annoying busywork for people who like raiding. I'm not trying to make a 1-to-1 parallel here, but wouldn't you agree that simply removing all "open" maps from multiplayer matches for the sole benefit of Black Forest players would be a radical, uncalled-for and highly counterproductive move? If you want the challenge, you can simply opt to not use the strategy that breaks the AI and if you just want to dick around in a scenario, why not exploit its stupidity when it comes to following the rules of the game? If I wanted to have an AI spam units at me forever I could play one of the many C&C campaigns instead.
Since Ming doesn't attack your base, imperial techs or units especially trebs let you defeat Ming easily. You musn't be able to destroy Ming. Ming's mission is to be a threat to your allies.
Because game's dev think that at the beginning, Le Lơi cant defeat ming easily. Imp with trebuchet can easily clear this camp because ming dont atk atall

They do a very good job with the vietnamese voice in this game. Better than almost every recent games which have vietnamese factor.
Lê Lợi = [l] +[e] (easy) + [l] + [əj] (hard)
with that kinda base building... no one is going to hire you to decorate anytime soon!
Don't stress on this mission just tap enter and type black death and tap enter it is done..... Note: this code works for only frequent missions only...
Now you know our country's history VIper
I cannot wait to see this in 4K.
34:56 dam dude..
Viper, would you please consider doing Age of Mythology campaigns next? :D To keep the hype going and getting more viewers!
relic was the one at the malay pirates
After finally destroying the pirates and getting the relic-cart, I sent it on its own to the green monks, but it got captured by the monks before reaching the monastery for the trigger. I still wanted to see what the bonus would be, so I started to mangonel down the green monks until only one monk was left and I got control over the relic-cart. Little did I know that I would have got control over the now dead op monks - rip 11
I am Vietnamese. Hi Snake!
And I am Canadian. What's your point?
Le Loi: The Dai Viet is a Vietnamese campainage
vietanh pham oh... ohhhh i see
Phat Nguyen Tan
At least how Viper knows how to pronounce "Nguyen" :)
I am Chinese, hi Vietnamese!
Wow, blue has a NASTY base and satellites. Would have crushed the pirates for brownie points.
Le Loiiiiiiiiiii JEEENKINNNNNNNSSSS
Five months no comment! Disgrace!
So here you go.
46:00 There is your hidden holy relic.
And 34:56 how do you do that
Even if you build smth to 2% they won't be able to move through it. He built a cage and finished the castle. The AI wasn't designed for this kind of micros, so the pikeman ended up attacking the castle instead.
For endless Gold I defeated the Pirats - left one Dock alife and used it for tradeships
Lost a lot of army in 'nam :)
U.S.A. is the new Ming China ;)
Le Loooooooooiiii Jenkins!
Sorry...
We luved the campaigns Bipah!!! Please do something similar next... AoE I or III campaigns. maybe even custom ones.
Greetings from Joadns Country!
I found this mission very hard. I only built trash though and put mangonels and castles in my allies bases.
obesechicken13 Vietnamese campaign is the hardest in Rise of Rajas expansion.
This Mission is really frustrating in such pointless way. A Pain in the ass
The 2nd mission of this campaign is very tough. I have tried a lot but won by 2 castles standing...... Upload the 2nd mission pls in your gameplay.....
@5:13 Video Start
Around 35:00 "Our population's a little looow," AFTER killing off a female villager, if I heard correctly. One who so bravely helped build a castle. That was wrong. No ethics?
Possibly a male builder, too. Could have just garrisoned them this late into your success. Actually closer to around 35:25
And THEN in perhaps the same minute you have "a few too vils...." REALLY? No shame
And it WAS in the same minute. "That's not good." You think?
There was no reason at that stage in the game to kill off those two brave, loyal villagers. None.
"Oh, I don't have vils here anymore. The next minute. RIP, brave castle builders. You will never be forgotten by your people!
After this please can you do Age of Mythology Campaign Viper. I’d love to see your take on it?
When are you gonna make next campaign, I really hope it's soon. Best strategist ever The Viper :-D
Is Lê Lợi not Le Loi
Not everyone has the same keyboard with bells and whistles as you do
do you ever use the pause button? its very useful to asses and think
It's supposed to be Real Time Strategy, which is why I prefer to not ^^
Do you ever use cheat codes? It's very useful to progress and win
remaining : aoe:de campaigns, age of empires 3 campaigns.
Viper, how about trying the campaigns in AOE III. I think it will be very interesting watching you trying to figure out the different play style.
TheNavyShark but aoe3 is trash
oh, i know it is trash but it will be hilarious to watch him try and figure out the game mechanics since they are so completely different than AOE 2.
no
Always remind to build loom donnie!
Its actually from indonesia
US: we are the most powerful country in the world
Vietnam: Remember me
US:gulps😵😵😖😖😞😵😖😵😞
Age of Mythology next please!
the AOE equivalent of an escort mission.
The final chap show how to vs ai with unlimited resources
the last campaign, kinda sad :/
Vietnamese 💓💓💓
Can you go through this campaign a bit faster?
okay
why no imperial age?
Since Ming doesn't attack your base, imperial techs or units especially trebs let you defeat Ming easily. You musn't be able to destroy Ming. Ming's mission is to be a threat to your allies.
because he wasn't allowed to?
Because game's dev think that at the beginning, Le Lơi cant defeat ming easily. Imp with trebuchet can easily clear this camp because ming dont atk atall
I'm Vietnamese
Need more mastapiece

Lè Loiiiiii LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
My father would never buy any game 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😟😟😟
