    I'm one of those moms. I just had my third child (all c-section) thebfirst two I had to give up because they were loosing weight and I was worried about their health. This time I had to go for an emergency c-section and my baby is in the NICU. I've been trying to keep up with the feedings and pumping but I'm so tired and stressed out. I ended up getting the Morher's Milk Tea. I drank one cup and I'm pretty sure I seen the difference. I wasn't even able to produce and oz and after I drank one cup I got just about an oz or a little more. That was huge progress for me . I'm going to keep trying this tea and see what happends. My baby gets to come home today so I hope I can get on track asap.

    Great video Summer! I've been binging your channel 🥰 i would add placenta retention to the list of things, as you mentioned in your placenta encapsulation video. My friend had this and was going to appts insisting something was wrong and being told it was normal for healing to take a long time. Then a specialist finally realized it was placenta retention after 4 months but by then the milk supply had already been affected. Knowing about this connection can probably help a lot of people spot issues sooner

      You are absolutely right! That IS a risk factor … I actually explain it in a way in my risks of placenta encapsulation.

    I’m so glad I found this 😭 my son is a month old and I’ve struggled with low milk supply from the start, they put him on formula because he lost 10% of his body weight day 2… we are doing body work for him to release tension in his body, but hearing you say IGT is very rare gives me comfort. I got blood work done showing that my thyroid is in normal range, but leans more toward hyper thyroid… getting it checked soon. Wondering: if it’s been a month with low milk, can I raise it if hormones are addressed? Or is it too late? Thank you!! 😭

      @@samirachatir Hi, mama. I am so sorry you are going through this yourself. My update is that I was, unfortunately, unable to get much of an increase in my supply. I did pump whatever I could offer and combined with a high quality formula. Even a little is great for baby! I managed to pump for 6 months, until I decided my mental health/enjoying my baby needed to be prioritized. The reason that my milk supply was killed was due to longterm chronic stress. Please, do not stress as much as you can help it.
      Eat as nutrient dense/healthy as you can. Take time to breathe and take things day by day. I am hoping breastfeeding works out for you, as I know it is a strong desire for a mother to share with her baby... I would like to offer you encouragement if breastfeeding does not work out with this baby: your baby will be healthy. Mine is so happy and thriving! They will thrive on formula, too. Just opt for a high quality one. Know that the days of infancy are so limitied, do not become obsessed and more stressed like I did, wasting away precious days because of worry about breastfeeding. Your little one is to be enjoyed. Your baby needs you, your love and your comfort. And forget the "breast is best" comments that can make you feel lesser than. Fed/thriving is best! When they start eating solids, you will be in full control of what they eat, so if you worry about the ingredients of the formula, know formula is temporary. The most important thing is to enjoy that precious baby. Again, I really hope breastfeeding does work out for you!! Deep breaths, mama. One day at a time.
      Something to consider: Have you seen an IBCLC? Wishing you the best! Now, go enjoy and snuggle your bundle of joy!

    -First son, home birth, 9lb 4oz
    -3rd° tear and hemorrhage, no hospital transfer
    -Couldn’t wake up baby to save my life for feeding (max 8 feeds a day, 1 hour feedings every time)
    -Undiagnosed tongue and lip tie, revised at 2m
    -IBCLC diagnosed IGT at 1 week (less than 15 minutes spent with her)
    -Weighted feeds 1.5-2oz up to 2 months old. IBCLC left her scale with me.
    On occasion weighted feed would be 2.5oz to almost 3oz which tells me I have the ability and capacity for 3oz. I feel like it was a combination of all of the things listed. ESPECIALLY the ties. He would almost immediately fall asleep from exhaustion of eating until revision at 2 months. I would take him off of me at 1 hour but he fell asleep at 15 minutes. I had to wake him up in the middle of the night to feed.
    I’m due with number 2 in mid May so I’m watching all of your videos to refresh. I’ve seen the house of milk, I know what your stance is, I know I have grown more GT. I BFed for 15 months with my oldest, he’s 22 months now. I’m working on trying not to be type A and get a scale, just focusing on output and not a number on scale. Is there any advice you can give me or what you see from everything I listed? Thank you for all of these videos!!!

    I just discovered your channel today. I am currently 31 weeks with my third baby. I was not able to successfully breastfeed my first 2 and I really want to get it right this time. I’ve heard that I should feed the baby on one side until they pull off and then put them on the other side to for “dessert” but how is that effectively both sides in order to keep up my milk supply?

    Is there any hope of raising supply at 3.5 mo? Been triple feeding since child was born. Tongue tie and premie. Tie revised at 2.5mo and baby is able to nurse so much better. Sometimes baby can get 5.8 oz but other times I only have 1.5 -2 oz for baby (know this from weighed feeds). Is there any hope of getting supply up now that we are this is late in the game?

    Currently 6 weeks postpartum pumping 26-28oz a day is there anything I can do to try to increase my supply? Trying to get back back to breast after he’s developed a bottle preference. I’m wondering if I can increase my supply will it increase flow and make him watch to nurse. Thank you for all of your infoN

    • @DoneNaturally
      @DoneNaturally  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you know that 24oz/day is typical? So you’re pumping more than normal. Why do you want to increase it? Have you tried a nipple shield to go back to the breast? And are you paced bottlefeeding so the flow isn’t too fast creating a preference for fast flow - and making baby work for the milk like they have to at the breast.

    • @chrissybear86
      @chrissybear86 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi!!! I was just hoping if I increased supply that my flow would keep him interested instead of crying because of frustration. We are doing paces feeding with an evenflo wide neck slow flow bottle. I just got an SNS and a laally SNS I was going to try to see if that can get him interested again. Im pumping every 2-3 hours overnight also and getting anywhere from 2-5oz but it does take time at least 20 mins and im doing 2 power pumps and pumping as often as I can even if it’s just for 10-15 mins.

    • @DoneNaturally
      @DoneNaturally  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’ve measured your nipple diameter yourself to make sure you’re in the right flanges? Your volume is so on par…flow shouldn’t be an issue getting back to Breast especially with paced bottling. Have you entertained a nipple shield???

      @chrissybear86 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DoneNaturally ok I’ll try the shield and report back I really would love him to be back on the breast. I hate pumping and taking time away from him to do it. I used 19mm with my first since I exclusively pumped for 2 years for her. This time around I got sized and they said I’m a 19 on left and 17 on right so I’ve opted to just use the lactec flanges since I have elastic nipples. I’m just so scared to put him back on the breast everytime I try he cries and it breaks my heart.
