Mercedes Metris wheelchair van. The Mercedes Metris has become very popular in the world of taxi, livery, rideshare and wheelchair accessibility. As you may know, I am based out of New York City and the Metris is one of the most desired vehicles here in the world of vans with Mercedes-Benz. In 2018, the Taxi and Limousine Commission put a halt to allowing new TLC plates with the exception of them having a wheelchair handicap accessibility package. The city was attempting to achieve a certain (higher) percentage of wheelchair accessible vans so that people in wheelchairs had a fair shot when looking for transportation. As of today, February 2021, the halt is still in effect and the Mercedes Metris is continuing to grow in the market. The ramp shown in this video is the only ramp that is ADA approved, Again I have zero affiliation with the company or any company in regards to this video.
