I believe Vex could send messages just fine but Laura gets so into her characters that the inability of Jester to send coherent messages is a reflection of the Jester persona.
I'm convinced that whenever Sending is cast, Jester actually takes over Laura's body for the duration of the message. Laura can hear what's coming out of her mouth, but has no control over it.
Jester + Sending is a gift that keeps on giving. Yes, it's a gag gift. Though the reactions like Matt wiping away tears and Taliesin turning red from laughter just make it funnier.
There are so many stellar Jester sending moments, but imo nothing can beat the initial watch surprise of 'Hi Dad!' I nearly died choking on my own spit when that happened. Iconic.
I love how Travis is psyching himself up, readying for the inevitable downfall, by punching his fist together and looking like he's going in a boxing match.
This was honestly one of the “worst” but equally most hilarious Sendings yet. I was dying of laughter the whole time. Not only does Laura get so brilliantly into character as Jester but I think that sometimes Laura gets so nervous/excited and overwhelmed to do things correctly that she kind of legitimately forgets what she has to say but as she’s trying remember, she’s thinking out loud and all of the words get counted. So by the time she realizes what it is she needs to say she’s out of words because she didn’t get to the point sooner and got in her own head instead. And my god the results are incredible.
"It's me, Jester. Hey, I don't know if you're alone. If you're not, and you're following us, then clear your throat if you're not following us..." I was in tears when I came across this one. Its just so good
And just imagine poor Astrid having to wait though the PAUSES LMAO "IT'S ME......" "Oh shit, is it Trent? Maybe someone from the dynasty trying to lure me into-" "JESTER!"
I still think this is probably one of the single funniest moments from CR. Mostly because Laura absolutely is capable of sending very informative and concise messages, but she's so committed to the character of Jester that it turns out like this EVERY TIME
I am genuinely curious how they will animate Jester’s sendings in the animation. Because it’s so wild and chaotic, how could they reproduce it for the show?
Most of it actually made complete sense, but everybody (including myself at first) thought it didn't make sense. she said "I don't know if you're alone. If you're not, and you're following us, clear your throat" This means that she is asking Astrid to clear their throat if they are NOT alone and they ARE following them, there's no contradiction there. The only confusing part was when she said "if you're not following us" at the very end

Jester’s spell ‘Sending’ allows her to send a message of up to 25 words to someone, in this case Astrid. They were trying to figure out how best to find out whether Astrid and her group were following them and how to do it in a way that would allow Astrid to reply covertly. But with Jester being Jester, it always gets a little out of hand in the best way 😂
Jester: "I've got to figure it out, otherwise it's gonna be very confusing."
