Thanks for clicking by and watching this one along with us! Come to watch Des's first reaction, stay to see Greg turn into a puddle. The biggest shock of this one was discovering Des has never seen Andrew Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man - should we watch those at some point? Let us know down below!🕷🕸
My favorite detail in this movie is in Miles’ leap of faith. He still has doubts, and that is beautifully visualized by the breaking glass. He was still nervous and thus still stuck to the glass, but forced himself to leap nonetheless. This is still the most stunning animated film I’ve ever seen.
Up until that point, Miles was shown stuck every time he was elevated. He literally did not know how to get down. Spiders-Man know that falling does not kill you, it is the sudden stop at the end.
So, speaking of DC connections- Cage was attached to be Superman at one point in the years between Superman IV and Returns. (This was around the "Superman needs to fight a giant spider!" years and about the same time that Kevin Smith was briefly involved. ) Well, the same year as Into the Spider-Verse came out, Cage finally got to play Superman, albeit in the Teen Titans Go movie. His son, Kal-El, got to play baby Superman. So he managed to play the biggest character in both Marvel and DC in the same year. And Spider-Ham dates back to 83. Had a series of his own for a while.
The design for the Kingpin is based on the Frank Miller novel. Bill Seinkeiwicz is the illustrator who gave him an exaggerated appearance. The graphic novel is LOVE AND WAR and makes great use if the Kingpin's presence and influence as a villain. As an animated movie, this works to pay tribute to his comic book roots and give a nod to the artist. In my 66 years on this earth, this was THE most fantastic illustration in animation I have ever seen. Until the sequel did it one better. I'll be here for your reaction to that modern masterpiece of visual genius. Keep going and enjoy the movie.
Came here to say this too, and happy to see that others remember it. I was a 13 year old comic book fan when he debuted, and we all laughed and geeked out over it. Spider-Man was my first favorite superhero. I watched the animated series growing up - yes, the pointing meme one!
Amazing how Des was nailing the voices left and right, but fumbled on Nicolas Cage?? I think it must have been a, "hiding in plain sight" thing, because it was SO obvious LOL
I find it's easier to recognize a voice that is more singly associated with one character rather than someone like Nic Cage, who has done lots of things but no character that is singly his own. Gary Oldman does this to people too. But put someone like James Earl Jones in a movie and immediately you hear Darth Vader, right?
@@videovillagereactions Oh and for you and Greg, if you haven't watched 'The Color Out of Space', horrifying and great Cage movie. Very out of character for your channel's content tho.
You guy's should watch PS5 Spider-Man 1-2 and Miles Morales. People has edited the cut scens like a movie. But you would have to break it up bc there 5+ hours.
One more side note. DC did an animated movie involving the Justice League in an alternate universe a few years ago. It was called CRISIS OF THE INFINITE EARTHS. The voice casting in that was first-rate as well.

@videovillagereactions It could help to watch THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN movies before reacting to ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE.

The sequel is more beautiful, in my opinion, every “shot” in that film can be a wallpaper.
Well said, and agree! - Greg
Can't wait to share that one soon with everyone, but you're right that it's gorgeous!
23:02 Peter B. Parker is from the og universe 616 so he can do whatever also they are meant to cover the damaged lower parts of his suit
100%. It just cracks me up so much 😅😅 - Greg
Thank you for the thumbs up on my comment and basically his inter dimensional traveling destroyed pieces of the suits pants
Spider-ham has been around since the 80's, I had some Spider-ham comics when I was kid.
Miles jumping off the building and falling and them showing it upside down to show his ascension was genius.

Spiders-Man know that falling does not kill you, it is the sudden stop at the end.
Little tip, don’t forget the 42 on the spider🕷️ and the bagel 🥯 scene they both play important roles in the second movie.
i cant wait for the 3rd one....Beyond the Spider-Verse, whenever we get it

Her figuring out who's playing who was so fun to watch, she's so good.
She's great at it! - Greg

So cool, thanks for this info! And agree, the movie (and sequel) are STUNNING!
I like the bread metaphor because he was scared of putting a bun in her oven at first.
32:42 Peter porker was a humorous variant of Spider-Man called Spider-Ham which started in the early 80s.
That's amazing, had no idea. Thought it was just a zany idea thrown out by Lord and Miller. Thanks for this! - Greg
Peter Porker the spectacular spider ham, was a series that came out in the 80s in the books
That's amazing, had no idea! Thanks for that! - Greg

Love that!
@@videovillagereactions Also, he is not a pig who got bit by a radioactive spider, He's a Spider who got bit by a Radioactive Pig. Because of course.
nice reaction
Now we need Across The Spider Verse!!! 🎉🎉🎉
It’s coming!! - Des
I love all the clues - eight sided ceiling lights in her lab, wearing octagonal glasses.
It's so well done.
I don't know if Hahn is also part of the MCU thru Spiderverse. But I guess she's MCU adjacent. I think it's just Agatha.
Yeah, I (Greg) confuse the Marvel universe with the MCU all the time. Eek! - Greg
But, Agatha makes her part of MCU, right? - Des
@videovillagereactions yes Hahn is part if the MCU thru Agatha. Same with Steinfeld only being part of the MCU with Kate Bishop.
Can't wait!
Hi there
Can you guys watch Spiderman: Across the Spider-Vesre.
We have! It's being edited as we type and our next release!

The amount of times I have watched Gone In 60 Seconds and missed Nic Cage 🤦🏼♀️ - Des

That's a good point. For some reason I am way better with voices than I am names - I might forget someone's name, but never their voice or face. - G
Right when that anvil hit and exploded the machine i got flashbacks to the second movie yall better be prepared for the second movie

I was thinking about maybe streaming some of that - I've played the first game but only 1/4th of the sequel. Thanks for this suggestion!

Miles morales is inspired by childish gambino
Didn't he play Uncle Aaron in the first Tom Holland Spidey? I thought that's who he was supposed to be in that film? - Greg
@@videovillagereactions that’s why he has played by uncle Aaron. It’s a nod to the creators who made miles.
