  • Me and my wife hit the flea market this weekend. It was a little disappointing the lack of vendors this year. I was able to find a few goodies. Starrett, Proto, Baker and Cincinnati tooling all came home with me. I hope you enjoy the walk around and seeing the event.

Cool finds. My dad always called them ignition wrenches.

Good wander around . When you first saw that vice , it looked like a grinding vice from the base configuration . Looked like he had a few grinding wheels their as well . Cool toaster ! 👍

Thanks Max. To the right of the vise were some centers I think for a T&C grinder also. The toaster is so awesome.

Nice items and flea market Tom, thanks for sharing. When my Dad drove semi's back in the 60's they had a toaster like that in the driver's room to warm thier frozen hands from hooking up the trailer!

Gday Tom, I’d love to walk around a market like that, I just wish they were like that here, the toaster is really a piece of art and I bet it cooks the toast properly, thanks for the walk around mate, cheers

Morning Matty. I guess we are lucky here to have events like this. The one in the fall is the big one so hopefully there will be better stuff to buy.

I always like to see these fleemarket videos you make Tom. Too bad about the turn out. Nice tools. Love the toaster. When I was a kid we used one like that at the cottage. Very simple and cool.

Thanks Randy. Glad you enjoy them. We grew up using a pop up toaster. I imagine it is still in the cabinet at my mothers house.

Thanks Jim. I found one on E-bay exactly like it and the seller is calling it a tool & cutter grinder vise so I think my assumption was right.

Indeed yes Tom. Quite often local car boot sales are every month. A lot just sell household junk but some like the Autojumble are great for general tools and machine tools. Cheers

That Cole drill is quite rare. It goes along with the Cole farm vise and one other attachment I can't remember. I have a Cole vise mounted on my pump jack trailer. You got some good scores there Tom. Especially that vise!

G'day Tom. I generally walk around with you on your Flea Market outings. As you said generally you find there are many vendors with lots of goodies. I think there is a slump generally around economic world which is affecting businesses, which will also affect events like flea markets.
Thanks for your tour, maybe next one will be more fruitful.

I just went to an auction.Where lady's husband die that own a small machine shop, Unfortunately, nobody showed up that day.
So she dumped everything in a dumpster. Mill machine grinder ,tooling ,everything. The machinery was too heavy to get them out of the dumpsters, but we did manage to save a some of tooling

Nice setting for a flea market. Did you get that little anvil for Al ? That was pretty cool 👍👍
I remember grandma having an old open toaster when I was a kid, but it was square. It's long gone probably went to the trash.

The kind of place where you have to be careful not to make the mistake to buy a big anvil in the beginning. Othrewise you have to carry it around the rest of the day.

    • @hilltopmachineworks2131
      @hilltopmachineworks2131  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

You are right about that. They do allow you to drive your vehicle in to pick up stuff like that. Just means you have to walk all the way back to your car though.

Not only that but it was in pretty awful condition, the hardened faces chipped or just broken off. Was only worth scrap price in my opinion.
