[Need everyone's HELP] As announced before, I'm preparing for a new series of my video which is so-called "Oppa Tour" I'll be a tour guide for the foreigners who will be coming to the Philippines and introduce Filipino food and culture to them! If you have any FOREIGN FRIENDS - Who will visit Manila, Philippines for the first time and willing to know about Filipino culture and food - Who live in Manila, Philippines now but still have not much background knowledge on the Philippines Please introduce your friends to Oppa Jinyong!!! I'll be so glad to go tour around Manila with them! You can leave comments here or you can also send DM to me on my Instagram! instagram.com/oppajinyong/ Thank you for your support always!! I'll see you in my next video asap!! Maraming salamat!
I like how you all instantly understood that filipino dishes are mostly designed to be eaten with rice. alone they're either too strong in flavour. in fact, in a meal, the rice is the main event, and the dish, or "ulam" is designed to give flavour to the rice.
There's so much variation with adobo..the dry adobo, saucy adobo, white adobo.. the sweet one which is my fave is HUMBA. there's also adobo with (gata) coconut milk. And vegetable adobo etc...
Exactly and i guess the one who taste test to them was to salty.. different people cook adobo in many variation... Like korean foods as well some is not appetising at all
This. A lot of our food is pretty strong (especially when bought at karinederya's) because we love our rice. Also, we get more "bang for our buck" since we can eat more rice which makes us fuller at a cheaper cost. =P
Thank you for promoting us. 😊 Will definitely wait for your next vid when you guys visit here. Your friends are cool as they are willing to explore our culture. Mag iingat palagi at maraming salamat. Godbless! 🙏
You and your friends are really cute.. Naturally friendly and not a trying hard reactions but genuine reactions that i could clearly see thier faces that surely taste real food. Thanks to all of you guys.
.... and your back not just in vlogging but you're back in Manila... we miss you and waiting for your uploads. Nway, enjoy your stay and upload as many video as you can. Fighting!
Jinyong, you are such a great Philippine ambassador to your fellow Koreans. A million thanks for promoting the country for free. May the Good Lord bless and keep you.
Oppa Jinyoung, you truly amaze me how knowledgeable you are to Filipino culture. Keep up the good work! We look forward to seeing more of you! 💕💕 I enjoyed the live premiere. See you next week!! 😄

Oppa Jinyong, its my first time to drop comment like this. BUT im really be glad if you put one ads in the middle of your vids, its the least we subscriber can do to help you out! Thank you from Philippines.
Good job, Oppa Jinyoung! You have been promoting Filipino dishes to your friends a lot. I have watched all of your videos and I am glad to hear what they think about our food. I have been exposed to a lot of Korean culture due to teaching English to Koreans for many years but I have never gotten the chance to let my students taste many different kinds of food from my country. Thanks for uploading good content. More power to you and your friends. Hwaiting!~
I really like your videos. It's so good to know that you're a pure Korean yet you start to love Filipino culture. 😍 Also try some Filipino desserts! Like mango float, fruit salad and macaroni salad. More power to your video!
Actually, the adobo came from the spanish word “adobar” which literally means to marinate. Adobo was derived because the meet is being marinated in vinegar and soy sauce before cooking it.
You can add sugar to counterbalance the taste of saltiness and sourness and then add more garlic, pepper and bay leaves according to your liking to get more flavor. 😎😎😎
Nice! In our family, we cook adobo with chunk potatoes or pineapples. To avoid it getting salty, we do not put salt anymore since there's soy sauce already.
i subscribed your TH-cam channel in i'm really enjoyed it , thank you for introducing our Filipino foods, i hope you can introduce also out food in Mindanao. thank you..
Yeaaaa!! I've been to Seoul and Bangkok for the past few weeks and now I'm finally back in Manila!!! I'm ready to start making fun videos! Thank you always for your support!!😊
there different versions of adobo, depends where you from. you can also adjust it base on your preference. in northern philippines, our adobo, dont have sauce, only the oil from the meat. i also taste adobo with pineapple in it. some adobo are sweet, there is the white adobo.
After watching this im craving for adobo.. You can try add sugar if they want it to be little sweet or you can use pineapple chunks its delicious.. Well there is many ways to cook adobo but i love the original one. Thank you for cooking and promote Filipino dish and culture 😊
We have different kinds of Adobo. You can have them try some of these: - Sweet Adobo (usually with chicken breasts/pork). This version of Adobo has pineapple bits and pineapple juice o make it sweet. - Fried/Dry Adobo - we usually eat this with beer. Served as "pulutan" (foods accompanied with beer) - Chicken gizzard Adobo - As the name implies. :) - Adobong KangKong (Water Spinach) - Usually served as a side dish. - Adobong Sitaw with beef/pork - Long beans with pork/beef bits. You can also add fried tofu (tokwa in Filipino). Also served as a side dish - Adobong Bisaya - The adobo version in Central Philippines (Visayan region). This adobo is more yellow/red since they add Achuete (Annato in English). This version is less salty and more tangy cuz of the added ingredient. - Spicy Adobo - Adobo with siling labuyo (Cayenne Pepper) - If you want spice in you life. :)
After watching your buddies eat adobo, it made me want to eat too! Haven't had adobo for like a couple of weeks now 😁 It's lunch time but I am cooking chicken afritada....btw you can also add hard boiled quail eggs and potatoes... That's how I cook mine with same condiments :) You are simply doing great! Thanks for promoting our food and culture.
I love how your taste tests are fun yet informative (with that little historical background of the food). I really enjoy watching your vids!! FIGHTING❣❣
my english husband can cook adobo and loves it. i like to put a little sugar on it, so it wont be too salty. i prefer pork over chicken adobo too. 👍 great video oppa
adobo is a great balance of salty, sour, and sweet. not sure if u used too much vinegar or his palate is too sensitive. try to add a pinch of sugar, it helps bind all flavors. like they say, a pinch of sugar if u put acid in your dish
My family and I have our own version which is Adobo with boiled eggs. We use either chicken or pork then we add the boiled eggs with it. Idk if others make it too but it's been my all time fav up until now ^-^
the long wait was over. Hahaha. 감사함니다 형 진녕 For having them taste adobo, hehehe, I guess if they tried Adobo sa Asin (salt) theyll be needing more rice and water beacause of its saltness 😄😄😄 more vlogs to come Hyung!!!
It's really fascinating to see he really do dig up the roots of one the staple food of the country . Personally I dont know its origin. lol. just some tips.add a little mascovado sugar on it while boiling to burst out the flavor.! thank you!!
For your new series, try to bring your korean friends here in the Philippines, so they can experience and taste the good things here, esp Junewoo, Woosang, and Junyoung. I've got Korean students who have come here recently. They might want to.
Actually, there's a sweet version of Adobo. We add sugar on it and it tastes fantastic! You know, Filipinos love sweets.
I think every region/province have their own versions, and every family have their own renditions of their region's/province's version.
We add potato too!
We add carrots and chili too!
And with pineapples too!!
Oh right potato we add potato too hahaha. Giniling or Pork adobo with sitaw
Adobo with pineapple or pork humba is delicious too
Ohhh adobos with pineapple tidbits are the best! ♡

Don't forget the FRIED ADOBOOO
Adobo sa asin
Mine is adobo with tomatoes and avocado!
Jinyong i make adobo with a bit of sugar(white or brown is fine) to lessen the sour taste..put chili for a bit of kick..
You should also try "pork humba" 'cause it's one of my favorite dish other than adobo. Love your channel as always more power to you guyz..
Kuya jinyong, adobo and rice is always together that's why we love rice...
All of filipino food are strong flavor..
This. A lot of our food is pretty strong (especially when bought at karinederya's) because we love our rice. Also, we get more "bang for our buck" since we can eat more rice which makes us fuller at a cheaper cost. =P

Fota Hongka everyone I know claims that their nanay or lola makes the best adobo! He’d have to make hundreds of videos just to cover luzon!
On second thought, that’d actually make for a good series! Adobo recipes from across the country! Adobo chronicles hahaha
