I don’t care what anyone says, I think Mark Wilson and Jeremy Jones is the best commentator duo ever. It’s been a long time coming for us to finally get commentary that focuses on technique, feel, strategy, mental game, percentages, etc. Mark commentates from the perspective of an educator and coach, knowing what to say to help many of us pool enthusiasts better our game. Jeremy Jones commentates from the perspective of a seasoned pro, showing us what pros think about, especially in terms of shot selection and potential pitfalls. The intersection of their knowledge and their combined appreciation of what modern pros like Filler have achieved has ushered in a new era of American pool, an era less concerned with style and hustling and more with pinpoint technique and elegant strategy. Gone are the days of commentators yelling feverishly on ESPN, or completely unprofessional commentators dishing out their road stories, distracting viewers from appreciating the extreme effort players put into the game.
As hopeless as people make the future of pool seem, this is the kind of evolution of the PRODUCTION side of pool that gives me hope for the future.

P.S. ... For those that don't know, Starcher's Billiards, in Akron, Ohio (owned by Dottie Starcher), for many years, held 2 major tournaments each year for about a decade or so. Joe Kerr was the tournament director. That was when I first met you and started enjoying so many of the ACCU-STATS VIDEO TAPES you were creating for us lucky pool fans! Thanks for all you have done for pool!

With so many other young players - Wu, Ronnie, Chao, etc, I was never a LeeVann fan... But recently since Efren isn't as active as years ago, he seems to look like the next generation essence Phillipines player. I've enjoyed every game of his I've seen.

I'd love to see these matches in 4K quality video. The players and commentary are already 4K! I always love it when Jeremy Jones is in on the commentary. Buddy Hall was always great at commentary too, btw.

Hi Pat, can we please see you competing in a match against one of the top pros, and in which you were playing at close to your full potential? I never got to see you actually play except for one match I have of you playing in a tournament at Starcher's in 1987 or 1988, I believe. You were just starting Accu-Stats about that time, right? I'll bet some of your other regular followers to your streaming videos would also enjoy seeing you play in competition (in addition to already being able to watch your excellent teaching / instructional tapes).
2 of the best leading commentators out there after Bill Encardona. Mark is a legend though, Jeremy is on his way there

I agree, 10-ball only as last ball. 10-ball should be different in most possible ways from 9-ball. I would also add call-safety rule for every 10-ball tournament, even in international rules.
I like Lee Van personally, but dang his stroking is unsettling to watch.
Then don't watch any old videos of Alan Hopkins. Now that is scary.
I don't have a problem with Corteza's or Pagulayan's short and compact strokes. They can still deliver a powerful straight draw shot when needed.

It's not a short stroke that's unsettling to me (lots of Asians do this and doesn't bother me at all) ...it's the jerky & jumpy lack of fluidity that's unsettling: /

Why is the ten ball allowed to be comboed? This tournament playing off BCA rules or something? Lee Van only won cause he fluked two ten balls otherwise it would of been hill hill. Still these players really are the hardest players to beat when they are on.

BCA rules do not allow that, and 10 ball is supposed to be a call-shot game, too. Instead of watering the game down so much, why didn't they just play 9 ball??
To me whatever tournament rules are agreed upon are fine. If they want a tough game just play 15 ball rotation then.

Troy Berber key word used to be. I know he’s a legend of the game but he should have retired gracefully from commentating a number of years ago.
