Getting books from Libby and sending them to my kindle is a game changer (US only). Love reading for free. That plus KU which has so many romance booktok books -- I feel like I'm set for life.
I love my Kindle Paperwhite. I can’t read books anymore. I can’t read the small print. Kindle ereader saved me. Now if they could just offer a collection of pretty bookmarks…I’d be a happy gal. 😅😍
I’ve always refuuuused to purchase a Kindle, Nook or any kind of ebook because I love putting my bookmark in the pages and seeing how far along I’ve come in the book or just being able to physically flip the pages and smell the pages of the book (weird as that sounds) 😂 But sis, you gave a really good review and got me thinking about converting to a Kindle. I love that it’s waterproof and has a feature to look up words in the dictionary right on the Kindle! Thanks for your review!
How you feel is 1000% me!! I’ve been reading and collecting physical books for a long time and downright refused to buy a Kindle because I loved the feeling of a physical book. I finally caved and bought a Kindle Paperwhite and I LOVE it!!! I have kindle unlimited and use my library card so I can read just about any book on my kindle for free. It’s so nice to not have to carry around physical books and worry if they will get damaged. Total game changer!! Give it a shot and if you don’t like it you can always return it!
I definitely love my Kindle Paperwhite. I purchased mine in July of this year. As mentioned, all of the benefits are definitely perks. But there is a feature most aren’t aware of: if you connect you Audible account to the Kindle… you can access your library 📚 on the Kindle. This is perfect when you have the audiobook of one the ebooks in your Kindle. That feature also allows the text in the book to scan as the Audiobook is being read in sync. This perfect for someone who has dyslexia. As a Special Education Teacher, I know this could be monumental for my students. I am considering doing a Donor’s Choose to get a few of these in my classroom.
I didn’t think any of the kindles allowed you to have Audible playing whilst having the pages open. I knew that the Kindle app did this. Don’t forget, though, not all Kindles have the ability to connect to Audible, though most do nowadays.
@@wolfme4030 I was referring to the 2023 PW. Some of the books allow you to play the audiobook and have the actual page open while you listen. I use this feature a lot since I have RA damage in my hands.
I’ve had a kindle since 2015 and even though i totally forgot that i had it, you inspired me to use it again 😂. I ordered a case and stickers to decorate it because of you! Your channel is so positive and even though i only found it today, i’ve already subscribed ❤
I’m really excited to start reading on it again. i just downloaded a book called never lie and it is soooo gooodddd. I will probably post a yt short of decorating my kindle on my channel.
I bought a kindle paperwhite after watching your review on it last time. I have to say I love it. I never thought I would. I like holding a book in my hand and I hate reading on the computer because it causes eye strain. But I bought a cover for my kindle that make it feel like a book. And the lighting is adjustable and it’s awesome!!! I also have limited space and now I don’t have books stacked up everywhere.
I love my paperwhite ❤ and you didn't mention that your spouse who isn't a reader won't complain when you're reading in bed while he's trying to sleep 😂😂 I've owned mine for 13 months now and just love it !! I work nights and bring it too work and read all night long (my clients are sleeping and it's totally OK for me to do this )
I bought my kindle paper white (7th gen) second hand and it still works fantastic. I know I’ll need to upgrade next year as they will likely stop supporting it but I’ll still be upgrading to the newest paperwhite. I love it!
I asked my mom if I could save up for a Kindle Paperwhite (of course I listed your pros🥰) and she said maybe I’ll get one for Christmas! I’m so excited😆😆 I love your videos, they bring me joy!♥️🤗
I recently got an e-reader and absolutely love it! I got a Kobo Clara 2e and it's the most similar Kobo to the paperwhite. Changing the font / margin size has changed the game for me. I also share a bed with my partner (humble brag) and now I can read at night without keeping him up with blue light. It's also a good way to read multiple things at once - like I have my physical book and my ereader and theyre dedicated to different parts of my day. AND THE LIBRARY all the library books you can get on an ereader its insane! 1 month in and I'm halfway to paying off my ereader by reading library books on it alone. Can't recommend enough!
If you aren't too worried about the price, get a Scribe. It's awesome. It really shines if you have a desire to include handwritten notes within the texts or as a way to keep digital handwritten notebooks. It's probably as close as you're going to get to a real paper feel when writing on a digital device.
I love my Kindle Paperwhite! I gifted myself one on my birthday like 3 or 4 years ago and get through a lot of books because of it. Today, I left it at home and didn't realize it until I sat in a coffee shop. 😣 But not to worry, I was able to continue reading on my Kindle app on my phone. Another benefit!
My Kindle paperwhite made me to start read again two years ago🤩 I was like 10 years without reading books, since I finish highschool, because inflation (this year was like 100%) and where I live are to expensive and if I have to choose I prefer to buy others things. I also started to learn English this year and it's helps me to read a lot. Now with ebooks aka cheaper prices and gutemberg free books I'm reading too much. I also wear 👓and I can get a bigger font ❤🥰 Sooo happy
I had a kindle fire for a long time but two years ago, it stopped working. I currently read using my iPad but I am considering buying the paperwhite kindle as it is lighter. Thank you for the video! It’s one of the best reviews videos I had watched. Thank you!
I purchased my first Kindle in June of 2023. I have the 6" denim color. I plan to purchase the Paperwhite,Oasis, and the Scribe, but later.. I learned about Kindle in the 90's, and always wanted one.❤
You don't know how many unboxing videos I've watched 😅😅 I got my Kindle Paperwhite about 3-4 months ago and been reading on it since then. I love my Kindle so much. I've read more with my Kindle now.
Amazing Video. Didn`t realize that this feature is on the kindle and I also use it and it helps so much. I love your personality Keep up the good work ❤
This is the best comparison review I’ve watched. I can’t decide which Kindle to buy, but after watching this, I think I’m going with the Kindle Paperwhite. Thank you!
There are BIG differences between the Paperwhite and Oasis. The page turn buttons are a huge bonus, and the ergonomic design is, for me, perfect. I find the Paperwhite uncomfortable to hold in one hand, whereas the Oasis is brilliant. I agree that the cost is a factor, and the Paperwhite is the best value. Unless you read a lot - particularly in the bath. That is when the Oasis really scores.
I love my Kindle Paperwhite!! I use it mostly to help me read really big books because I personally find that I read bigger books a lot faster electronically. I used to use my iPad Apple Books but my iPad became too big to take with to work and I wanted something more smaller and travel friendly.
When I read e-books, I’ve been reading them on the Kindle app on my iPad , but the thing is iPad are not lightweight. I can’t carry my iPad with me all the time because of the size it’s not very convenient so I’ve been thinking about purchasing a Kindle for almost a year or so , and I’ve been watching a lot of videos because I want to make sure that I use it to its full potential and I get my moneys worth , and now I’m very convinced I will be purchasing one maybe next month because I’ve been reading more and more books and honestly one of the major pros about it that it’s very lightweight and it’s not big and I can easily fit it in my purse and I can’t wait to purchase one.
Yessss......I have recently got the green one to girl, I love it, ...lol...I did my stickers, and popsocket to....its cute & very convenient.....I love your videos and this video is VERY informational, thanks for sharing
what I love is that I’ve had my 7th gen kindle since forever, and I haven’t had to upgrade AT ALL. kindle keeps the same format thru every device of every age
I don't have my e-reader yet but the biggest thing that would make me purchase one is you can read in the dark! I like my bedroom dark, I don't like laying my in bed with the light open 'cause it hurts my eyes, but I like reading in my bed so if my budget allows me to buy one, I would definitely would.
Such a great review! You did a wonderful job presently all the info in a concise, logical order and explaining all the pros and cons. Your personable screen presents makes you very engaging, as well. Peace and prosperity, KD!
I have a Kindle Oasis bought second hand in mint conditions for 150€ and I love it so much! I primarily got it for the buttons. I previously had a Sony prst 3 reader that I got in 2014 as a gift, but it didn’t have a light so reading in the dark at night (the time of day I read the most) was a nightmare. That led to using my iPad for reading but that was not good for my eyes and sleep pattern, so I started researching for a new e-reader. My husband got me the Oasis as a wedding anniversary gift. I am a leftie, so reading on a device with no button was really difficult for me (my previous e-reader had buttons) and that’s why I splurged for an Oasis. It auto turns when I switch hand and is so comfortable to hold even for longer periods. Also, the Paperwhite is a really good device, I got one for my husband and he also got a Pop Socket for holding it and he really likes it 😊
Hi! I got my Kindle Paperwhite in 2020. Mine is the 10th gen (2018) version. As someone who's had their Kindle for 4 years now, I can confidently say it's one of my favorite devices! The only reason why I would ever upgrade to the newest Kindle Paperwhite is for the warm light feature for night time reading lol but I'm totally happy with what I've got!
Thanks for reviewing all the different options. It narrows it down to what I want to get now. I was always against the kids having an ebook because I just believe a physical book is much better, but then it just makes more sense to me to get a kindle. I only have to pay a small fee on subscription and my kids gets to read so many books, but if I have to buy a physical book, I would be paying way more just for two books. I keep telling my oldest child to read books but then realized that he just has to read the same book over and over unless we buy more books which is very costly. So yeah, back to my point, it just makes more sense to pay a subscription but can be able to read hundred of new books.
Ms. D, this was a very well-done and informative video. I believe my wife and I have everything we need to know about this line of products should we make a purchase! Thank you!🧐🤓
personally i think that its better to have a different device so that once your reading you dont go on a different app if you get bored (basically you dont get distracted) thats just my opinion.
Thanks for the video ! I think I'll get the same one "Kindle Paper White". I'm moving a lot so it's nice to have all your books with you without the weight 🙂
Paperwhite is literally the most cost efficient option for all the reasons you mentioned. I don't see myself changing anytime soon... At least until the scribe let's you mark in the margins instead of sticky notes. Even then, it will be hard for me to let go of my Paperwhite.
Girl I came across your channel 1h ago and Iam in loveee❤ love the book content, love the authencity, love the Video and Sound quality, love the editing. I too want to buy a kindle because my room at my parents house and my room at Collage cant fit anymore books. Thanks for the vid and greetings from Tübingen, Germany😊
Couldn't even finish watching this video before running straight back to reading my Kindle. Sorry Khalilah! 🤭😂 I got my kindle right around the same time you did, and I have been loving your recommendations too! Always looking forward to your next videos! 😁 hehe
Girl, I’ve been going back and forth about buying a kindle since 2018. But now you convinced me to get one! Especially when you said I can use it while bathing in a bath tub, I’m sold! 😂
I got the kindle 2022 basic and I’ve been reading books off of libby and it is so worth it my reading speed has gone up and in turn I’ve been able to read more books
My first kindle is a used 8th gen basic. It’s not water resistant but I absolutely love it. It’s my go to. I also have the scribe, but I don’t use it as often. I wanted it to read some non-fiction books, or for school books. The scribe is basically like my study kindle, where I write notes directly on the books.
I bought a used paper white today based off your review and went to Barnes and Noble to get the sprout book marks! Not are you a TH-camr you are an enabler too!! I already had a kindle 7 HD Fire! I have had two nooks but lost them in several moves! I LOVE YOUR CHANEL!! Keep ‘em coming!!
The difference between the kindles are also that going up the scale, they have more lights for the screen, providing a more even distribution of light across the page. The Oasis has enough to make the light completely even throughout where as the Paperwhite has visible dull areas. Oasis also autorotates the page. The oasis also auto rotates the screen, is slightly more ergonomic, has an aluminium frame and uses MicroUSB for charging (which is a shame) but as of recently they have seemingly been discontinued from the amazon stores anyway, so availability is slim these days.
I love my kindle paperwhite! I still read physical & audiobooks. Some books are better in hand, audio, or digital. My favorite part is I can send my books from Libby to kindle, so I'm still about to checkout library books!
THANK YOU, after I saw your video the other day I ordered this Kindle, I did order a cover and it’s coming tomorrow , you gave such a great review, I had to get it❤
@@khalilahd. I do love it, how did I live without it? I just bought four books for my kindle library, I love how you can take it anywhere and just slips into your purse
Ive had my Kindle paperwhite for a whole year before i started using it. I just couldn't do the transition from the good ole physical book. Ive read 2 books on my Kindle since the beginning of January this year and it has changed the game for me!! Love being able to annote and highlight, look up words, read in the tib or shower (mine is waterproof too), read in the dark wothout a separate little book light. I jaye i waited so long to use it, but I love it and take it with me eveywhere i go. And, i do find that i read books faster on the kindle. 🎉❤
Thanks for the review. I ended up buying the kindle paper white based on your review on Black Friday sale. I used to have a kindle when they first came out because I ran out of room on my bookshelf. Also I’ve had kindle unlimited for years because I refuse to spend half my paycheck on books. I only read kindle unlimited authors now. 🤗
The reason that the scribe isn’t water resistant is because of the extra components needed to make a e-notebook rather than an e-reader. No e-notebooks on the current market are water resistant, we just don’t have the technology to make it so. The kindle paperwhite is the best deal overall, but the kindle basic does have a big advantage over the paperwhite in its portability. Despite how much I love my paperwhite, it isn’t pocket friendly and be a pain to carry around if I’m trying to go as light as possible without having to lug a bag around with me. I also like that the screen on the basic isn’t flush with the screen. On my paperwhite, the accidental page turn from my thumb resting on the edge can be annoying. The basic has that little ledge that prevents that.
Just to add on to it being long lasting. While considering buying a new paperwhite I pulled my generation 1 kindle paperwhite out from 2012. Still works perfectly and holds charge for a long time. I’m even conflicted if I should buy a new one!
Great video. Clear, direct and easily understood with all the important information you need if you have never owned an e-reader and are trying to decide on which one will suit you needs. (And you are kinda cute too) 😊 G
A few days ago got myself a Kindle Basic 2022. Its my third Kindle in 7 years. The other two are Kindle Paperwhite. They work just fine but I felt the need to buy a newer one. Since the Basic has light and 300 ppi, I thought Paperwhite would be a waste of money. The Basic is just great. Love it.
I bought my oasis after Barnes and Noble stopped supporting my nook (I had a 1st gen) the paperwhite was not worth the money when I bought mine (battery life wasn't as good, storage not as large etc) and for me the buttons are worth a bit og extra money. Now that said I only spent $150 on my oasis and it was at an Amazon kiosk in the Mall of GA. I am so happy that Amazon had refreshed the paperwhite and made it so much better and kept the price low so more people can have e readers. I love physical books but e-readers are a must sometimes in this crazy world we have now
Years ago, I bought a 1st generation iPad mini. Surprisingly, I only use it to read Kindle books. 🤦🏽♀️ I’ve wanted to replace it with an actual Kindle, but can’t let go of my colored book covers. 😅
I’m sure Kindle will go to colour once they can get the tech to a certain level. A Kindle Fire could be a cheaper alternative if you need to ‘upgrade’ your iPad Mini.
Great review, but a couple of points. Firstly you missed out the Kindle Fire which is essentially an Android tablet so if you read books with colour illustrations this Kindle could be a preferred route, though it does have more potential distractions as it is not designed just for reading. Second, any size up from the smallest is potentially a waste of money if you don’t keep your books on your Kindle once you’ve read them as you can just re-download them. That being said, if you, like me, keep your books on your Kindle and read comics/manga, even the largest Kindle may not hold all of your books as the file size is so much bigger. I love all of my Kindles. Kindle Signature Edition for ‘normal’ books (occasionally having Audible books on it), Kindle Fire for tablety goodness & Kindle Scribe for notes and Manga (the extra size helps for comics) Obviously, everyone is different and have differing needs/wants and price ranges, I just felt the need to add a little more info. Thanks for the video.
The problem of the small kindle is that it’s impossible to read science books and magazines on a 7 inch display. Also the bigger ones are too expensive. If they had really developed this technology and made it cost effective, like make it a double folding screen , and bring in your daily newspaper, it could have been a game changer.
This is perfect timing since I’m thinking of getting a kindle for my birthday since physical books in canada are crazy expensive and I don’t have much space on my shelf 😭
Love your video thank you! Not a fan of better help - it’s very very expensive and these sort of resources are more readily available for an affordable price. I realize they are sniping social media influencers to promote them.

love love ur channel cant wait to get my ebook. I getting it because i have nosey ass family (love them) but some of the stuff i love to read are somewhat.. SCANDALOUS lol so thanks for the awesome review!
Thanks for watching! And I personally wouldn’t because it makes it harder to read on the screen when you’re out in the day time (as the screen is naturally made to prevent glare but putting a screen protector on it makes it less effective) and with a good kindle case I don’t think adding a screen protector is necessary
I just got my kindle paperwhite about a week ago and the biggest problem that I have with it is that the ebooks are so expensive. I'm a little scared to buy like a 10$ book that I have never read, and I'm pretty sure you can't get a refund like you would at a book store. 😅

Noooo!! I’m sorry boo 😭😭 and I’ve actually read that series (when I was in high school) and I agree it’s so good!
@@khalilahd. oml fr? I didn‘t know!! And no worriesssss, i got myself the paperwhite, I made the right choice 😭🤭
what I love is that I’ve had my 7th gen kindle since forever, and I haven’t had to upgrade AT ALL. kindle keeps the same format thru every device of every age
Also, the Paperwhite is a really good device, I got one for my husband and he also got a Pop Socket for holding it and he really likes it 😊
Thank you for the excellent, concise and brief tutorial. You saved me time made my selection easy! I will be ordering a paperwhite 8gb.
I’m actually thinking about getting a kindle! Thank you so much for this!❤️
of course! I hope it helped 🫶🏽
I have the 4th generation of the Kindle (so like 2011) and it's still working fine, hasn't given me any problems tbh. Definitely worth the money :)
Thank you!🧐🤓
Rewatching this months later as I plot on getting a kindle paper white in the near future hehehe
“moneys not growing on trees 🌳 for me over here!”
we stan kween, we out here trying to read not go broke
Lol THIS!!
My question is: why buy a separate device when I can just have the Kindle app on my phone?
personally i think that its better to have a different device so that once your reading you dont go on a different app if you get bored (basically you dont get distracted) thats just my opinion.
Thanks for the video ! I think I'll get the same one "Kindle Paper White". I'm moving a lot so it's nice to have all your books with you without the weight 🙂
Thanks alot for this video! In the market to buy my first kindle and this helped a ton :)
Paperwhite is literally the most cost efficient option for all the reasons you mentioned. I don't see myself changing anytime soon... At least until the scribe let's you mark in the margins instead of sticky notes. Even then, it will be hard for me to let go of my Paperwhite.
I was so disappointed when I found out you couldn’t write in the margins😭👊🏻
@@giak890 same! I saw kobo let's you do it, so clearly the tech is there. I just don't want to migrate everything to kobo 😩
Thank you for your video!
Buying a Kindle this year was literally the BEST decision I made in 2023! :)
Honestly same here 😅
Girl I came across your channel 1h ago and Iam in loveee❤ love the book content, love the authencity, love the Video and Sound quality, love the editing. I too want to buy a kindle because my room at my parents house and my room at Collage cant fit anymore books. Thanks for the vid and greetings from Tübingen, Germany😊
Couldn't even finish watching this video before running straight back to reading my Kindle. Sorry Khalilah! 🤭😂
I got my kindle right around the same time you did, and I have been loving your recommendations too! Always looking forward to your next videos! 😁 hehe
The Scribe is like the Remarkable. On the Scribe I have my books, I take notes, make lists, and create folders, and I do puzzles that I get off Etsy.
Girl, I’ve been going back and forth about buying a kindle since 2018. But now you convinced me to get one! Especially when you said I can use it while bathing in a bath tub, I’m sold! 😂
Haha happy to help!
THANK YOU for not making a 32 minute video for this!
I've had a Kindle fire since Christmas 2016. Thinking I'm going to update soon.
Or maybe it was 2015. 🤔 I cant remember 😅
I love my kindle paperwhite! I still read physical & audiobooks. Some books are better in hand, audio, or digital. My favorite part is I can send my books from Libby to kindle, so I'm still about to checkout library books!
THANK YOU, after I saw your video the other day I ordered this Kindle, I did order a cover and it’s coming tomorrow , you gave such a great review, I had to get it❤
Yay!! I hope you love it as much as I do!
Thank you so much for your advice. I was so confused on which one to buy. Your video helped clarify what would be best for me. 😊
I love this video and her so much. I am getting the kindle paperwhite now. Thank you!!!
Just in time because I have a kindle in my cart now lol
sameee 😂
Thank you sooooo much! I bought the green one as well, I’m excited to try it out 🥰
I’m new here and I’m already loving your channel! Great review!
This was so incredibly helpful! Thank you sooo much!🤗
I'm so glad!
I'm feeling the pressure to get one so I really appreciate this video.
Love it.
what would you say the main differences between the paper white and the basic are ?
I’ve been reading more since I got my Kindle. I’m obsessed with her.
They’re the best right?!!
I love physical books but e-readers are a must sometimes in this crazy world we have now
You've been of great help. I now know what to buy ... thank you 🙂
great video, thank you :) you influenced me to go with the paperwhite one
Years ago, I bought a 1st generation iPad mini. Surprisingly, I only use it to read Kindle books. 🤦🏽♀️ I’ve wanted to replace it with an actual Kindle, but can’t let go of my colored book covers. 😅
That's the ONLY downside! I'm hoping that eventually they will add color. But I love not having to deal with a glare!
@@onyxlotus6461 I hope so, too! 🤞🏽
I’m sure Kindle will go to colour once they can get the tech to a certain level. A Kindle Fire could be a cheaper alternative if you need to ‘upgrade’ your iPad Mini.
@@wolfme4030 Thanks!
I also have the same kindle as you and I really love it ❤
Best purchase ever!
The problem of the small kindle is that it’s impossible to read science books and magazines on a 7 inch display. Also the bigger ones are too expensive. If they had really developed this technology and made it cost effective, like make it a double folding screen , and bring in your daily newspaper, it could have been a game changer.
Thanks so much for this review. I was looking at the signature but you've persuaded me to go for the paperwhite
Glad I could help!
Hey! I just want to say that I'm new to your channel and you're my new favourite booktuber (and youtuber!) I love your personality and your humour... I think we'd be friends if we met 😂 ok that's creepy!
Your videos are comforty and I really like that you are so down to earth. Keep doing it all cos I'll watch it all! 😀 ❤
This definitely helped a lot! I have been trying to get into mor reading!
I’m happy to hear that! I think this would be a great start for you ☺️
@@khalilahd. thank you!! You should be proud of me i started reading along to audio books lol
A solution for slow typing speed on the kindle e-reader is to use the app on your ipad or computer or even the kindle web reader.
love love ur channel cant wait to get my ebook. I getting it because i have nosey ass family (love them) but some of the stuff i love to read are somewhat.. SCANDALOUS lol so thanks for the awesome review!
Thanks!
Loved this video! Do you recommend putting a screen protector on the kindle?
Thanks for watching! And I personally wouldn’t because it makes it harder to read on the screen when you’re out in the day time (as the screen is naturally made to prevent glare but putting a screen protector on it makes it less effective) and with a good kindle case I don’t think adding a screen protector is necessary
I love this review and the character you are . Liked it very much. Love from Pakistan ❤
I just got my kindle paperwhite about a week ago and the biggest problem that I have with it is that the ebooks are so expensive. I'm a little scared to buy like a 10$ book that I have never read, and I'm pretty sure you can't get a refund like you would at a book store. 😅
Thank you this helps me a lot ! I think I am going to buy the paperwhite one on black friday 😍
Yay! I hope you end up loving it as much as I do 🫶🏽
Kindle is a must for a traveling Bookworm!
Agreed!!
