cool! that's quite the task. I'm new to painting and always struggle to find things to paint. I dislike doing landscape photos, but this challenge seems cool! I may take it on if I have time! I made a list of your themes in case anyone else wants to do the challenge. I see some people doing the 100 Pantone Postcard challenge, but this one seems better. I may swap some themes, but here is hers. 1. Watching in Wonder 2. Expression 3. Architecture 4. Food (Savory) 5. Animals 6. Trees 7. Library 8. Creatures 9. Backgrounds 10. Dance 11. Trains 12. Like many already mentioned, your channel is underrated. It's a loss for the people who are interested in good art, but only get recommendations from overrated channels. But I'm glad that I found your channel and I hope more people will have the pleasure to find you soon :D I love your art.
You are an amazzzzzzzing artist!!!!!! Just, wow! Several times, I truly thought you were showing one of the “Art of Pixar” books, but it was your work. You are so talented! Wishing you the best in your future! Just wow!!!
This video was such a delight, and belated congratulations to you for seeing through such an incredible undertaking! I was smiling so much all throughout this video because your skill and passion for the medium and the subject matter are so palpable, plus it’s inspiring me to break out my paints to try this challenge as well! I was especially thrilled to see you do a couple of Dark Crystal: AoR pieces here, it is such a gorgeous show whose end I mourn to this day 😭
This is by far the best and most inspiring art video I’ve seen lately, it makes me want to grab my paints and do the challenge. Your work is SO good! 🥰
You should do it! I know this is from 4 months ago, but I just found her channel and LOVE this video. And if you do the challenge you should show it off too!
You have inspired me so much. Your studies are wonderful. I’d love to see your color palette…maybe you’ve shared it previously. I’m new to your channel. Please keep up the good work.
So glad the TH-cam algorithm suggested this video, I loved it! Subscribed immediately. You can really see the time and effort you put in to this, really well done. Off to watch more of your videos 😊
Leaving a comment so the algorithm will know it should share this to more people. You really deserve more views, this work is amazing! Love to see this type of dedication!
I just found your channel and I have to say I already love you. I adore your taste, your personality, and LOVE your style! We have very similar tastes in movies and I can’t wait to continue watching the rest of your videos! Keep up the good work girlie!
Loved looking at all of these beautiful scenes! I guess I didnt realize that us artists are allowed to paint scenes from movies (as practice). Although I have seen a few other people who have painted Bilbo's house (which of course is very popular). But this is a wonderful idea to try!! I have started drawing houses in my area (that I photograph first) and then draw + color in. I see now I can expand on that to stuff from movies too so I can expand what I draw (because obviously stuff in your own area is limited). This is a great idea! I know so far I am good at drawing houses but lousy at drawing people (especially faces) but this lets you practice all sorts of stuff. I will try this!
Thank you so much!! Your local house drawing project sounds like a ton of fun. The movie scene challenge was definitely helpful at improving skills in lots of different areas!! 💛
Looking for teaching and inspiration to help me learn gouache and I "discovered" your channel. Flip me!! How inspiring! I love love your art and your video(s) this is my first, already saved a load more to watch later 😅 cannot wait to feast on more. I love your honesty, your attitude, your interests and your art 🤯 after a long hiatus in which I haven't painted or drawn AT ALL because I simply did not know what direction I wanted to go in. Your reflections, your thoughts, as shared in this have really opened my eyes. Thank YOU!! ❤ Edited to add here. As this goes on I am learning so much from you in this. I need to take a break and digest it, do some jobs, so I can come back and focus more. Mind blowing 🤯
Thank you so, so much!! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!! And I totally understand not knowing what direction to go in with art. That’s something I’m still navigating as well! 💛
Loving your work and how authentic you are pointing out faults that need more practice. I'm going to take a leaf out of your book, and have practice themes without expectations on my sketchbooks. Thank you for such a joyful and inspirational video... Even for us older ones learning later in life I realise art is bliss (I'm late 50's years young 😊) Keep creating, looking forward to seeing you grow more in the future, with love x
This looks like so much fun (and also an excuse to rewatch my favourite movies.) I'm a total newbie when it comes to painting but I'm excited to try this. Your art is so pretty. Will definitely be returning to this video for inspiration many times in the future.
It was an absolutely BLAST!! 💛 I definitely watched a lot of these while I painted them or listened to the soundtracks. I hope you enjoy getting started with painting!! 💛
You are adorable and I absolutely love your positivity! I don't think you know how amazingly talented you really are. You're on TH-cam, when in reality you should be over at Pixar or Disney or whatnot. You may want to get some wax on those pages, traditional gouache tends to stick together over time and it would be an absolute tragedy if you lost the art in that book! Are you over on Instagram by chance? I'd love to look you up over there and try to help share your work. I am shocked your sub count is so low for your quality of work. You deserve so much more attention and recognition. Thank you for sharing your art with us all 💜
Aww thank you so, so much!! 💛 I've been on the hunt for a good wax for sealing gouache paintings, but haven't found one yet. 😅 Yep, my Instagram is @allisonalethaillustrations 💛 I'm not quite as consistent at posting there as I once was, but I try to share as often as I can
@allisonaletha I just found your channel the other day and I have watched several of you videos. They give me a bit more hope about going back to painting myself. I love painting and drawing but I haven't painted very much in the last several years. Seeing you do the amazing gouache studies helps me to feel better about the studies I do. I had gotten bogged down by thinking I needed all my art to be 100% original and the thought paralyzed me with anxiety. So thank you again!

Amazing job sticking with this studies challenge! Your paintings look great and make me want to do something like this so that I can grow too :) I also loved your explanations behind the paintings whether it was short or long - it was fun and helpful to listen to. Can't wait to see the places you'll go!
Thank you so, so much!! It was definitely a fun and growing experience (though I did want to rip apart my sketchbook a few times during the process. 😅) Thank you so much for watching!
Amazing paintings and super inspirational! I haven't been doing gouache for very long and this series has taught me a lot just from watching you work and hearing you talk about techniques! Keep up the great work.
Loved seeing each of these paintings all together!! 😍 you seriously did an incredible job and I’m so impressed!! Your art is just mind boggling to look at because it’s so insanely good 😍
This are absolutely stunning! Very inspiring as well, I made a long list of notes with my favorite movies on here and definitely want to paint more scenes now as well 😁
Just found your channel! Ahhhhhh i am obsessed! I love movies and art and I have been thinking of painting my favorite scenes from my favorite movies for years now but i dont have much confidence with my skills yet. Seeing your video inspires me to try and just do it. Love this!
Thank you so, so much!! I'm so glad you enjoyed my video. 💛 Your comment reminded me of a quote from Elyse Myers: "Just do it scared!" I think we're all terrified of trying something new, but the best way to learn is to simply jump in and give it a shot. I hope you decide to give it a try!! 💛
Oh my god. These are so beautiful and definitely something i would strive to do myself, but now im intimidated knowing mine wont be AS beautiful as yours!
I just came across your channel and WOW.. You are so very talented! Did you go to school? Your characters and movie scenes are spot on! You could very easily be an animator for Pixar or Disney! If you aren’t already! 😊
These looked amazing, you did a wonderful job 👏 ❤️ I love the diversity within this challenge and I can see how it would definitely develop your skills in a very effective manner. Love it.
Your scenes are absolutely beautiful. I've done a couple of scenes from my favourite films but not sure why animated films didn't occur to me. Thanks for the inspiration.
Aww thank you so much!! To be honest, I think my favorite movies to study from were all animated. There's a magic to the lighting and color that simply doesn't exist in reality! 💛
This is a great challenge. I just got a tablet to start doing digital art and I think I'm going to use this challenge as a way to practice. Great job on your paintings!
Thank you so much!! It's a fun and informative challenge for sure. I think creating some digital studies would be an AMAZING way to learn and practice!! 💛
I had an idea of painting a room scene last couple of days (I don’t know why… sometimes I just want to do things I have no skills or qualifications to do…) and this has been the most inspiring video that just popped up and now I want to paint my own 100 scenes… I won’t… if I do 1, I will be happy 😅🖌
I'm literally five minutes in to the video and I haven't been THIS inspired in a while you're AMAZING man the use of color and even the way you use the brush give yourself some damn credit man i have to do this too def a subscribed fan now thank you for inspiring me!
After finishing this huge undertakining with such an impressive outcome, you are definitely ready to apply for an illustrator job at either Pixar or Disney. 👍💪🙂
Every scene study was absolutely perfect and stunning! It showed your hardwork and talent too! Loved all the studies. They really looked like digital prints instead of paintings. Woww! You are really good at what you do 😀 i wonder how you mix so many colors with just the primaries? Would love to know some tips for color mixing 😀
Thank you so much!! 💛 When working with primaries, the quality of paint really matters. I use Winsor and Newton gouache which mix well together without muddying up my colors! I have a series of videos on gouache basics for beginners which goes into more detail about gouache brands and color mixing. But I’m hoping to create a more in-depth color mixing video soon!! 💛
Such a pleasure to see all the studies togheter like this 😍 my eyes are happy 🤣 are you releasing the list of the different themes soon? Feeling inspired 👏
Your art is so beautiful and inspiring. I was wondering how you get your screenshots to do your studies. I wanted to try some screenshot but my tablets won't let me take screenshots when viewing from a streaming service like Disney or Netflix, etc. Is there a way around this or do you have to use DVDS and blue rays?
Aww thank you so much!! I get most of my screenshots from Animation Screencaps and Movie Screencaps. They're websites with frame by frame captures of SO many of my favorite movies. They're pretty high res, so they're nice to study from. 💛
Thank you!! 💛 Most of the scenes I gathered from a website called Animation Screencaps. I’d search which movie I wanted to study from, then scroll through the screencaps to find the right shot. 😊 I’m working on making a Pinterest board of all the themes + screencaps I used!
Hello, where did you get the references for the scenes study? Did you copy while streaming or did you use pinterest? I really enjoyed this video. Thanks you for the inspiration.
Hello Cassandra!! Thank you so much for watching! I use mainly two screencap websites called Animation Screencaps and Movie-Screencaps to find the scenes I want to study. 💛
Aww thank you so much!! 💛 Hmmm that's a good question. Early on, most scene studies took me between 5-7 hours. However, the more I learned about color mixing along the way and developed a painting process that worked well for me, I got faster. So by the end, most scene studies took me around 2-3 depending on the complexity of the scene.
Your channel is so underrated. I would add three zeros at the end of your Subscriber-Count..
Awee thank you!! 💛
Totally agree!!
That's exactly what I wanted to say 🥲

I absolutely love that version of Pride and Prejudice. It is a bit of a guilty pleasure but I love it anyway. That scene with the kegs of ice cream 😂
Ahhh I've never met anyone who's seen it too!! It's such a fantastically terrible movie. Those kegs of ice cream always have me giggling 😂

I have a series of videos on gouache basics for beginners which goes into more detail about gouache brands and color mixing. But I’m hoping to create a more in-depth color mixing video soon!! 💛
these look so great!! i wanna try my hand with this but HAHA
Thank you so much!! It's such a fun challenge 💛

Thank you!! 💛
Wow I love it 💜✨
Thank you!!
Such a pleasure to see all the studies togheter like this 😍 my eyes are happy 🤣 are you releasing the list of the different themes soon? Feeling inspired 👏
Awww thank you so much Lizzie!! I’m currently working on making a list of the themes as well as a Pinterest board of the references I used. 😊
That sounds great!! Have tou considered making a zine or something of them? Would love a copy of your artworks 😇❤️
@@allisonaletha oh wow. thank you so much. These websites will be such a huge help.
Amazing work and acomplishment. Congratulations!
I wonder how do you get the reference pictures for your scene studies?
Thank you!! 💛 Most of the scenes I gathered from a website called Animation Screencaps. I’d search which movie I wanted to study from, then scroll through the screencaps to find the right shot. 😊 I’m working on making a Pinterest board of all the themes + screencaps I used!
@@allisonaletha thank you! You really are inspiring!
Amazing!!! 😍 New gouache painter here! What pens do you use for outlining?
Thank you so much!! I used a prismacolor colored pencil to line most of these. 😊
nice video, keep creating more
Thank you so much!! 💛

Each and every painting is soo detailed and amazing, really enjoyed watching this video ,how long did u take to complete one painting ?
Aww thank you so much!! 💛 Hmmm that's a good question. Early on, most scene studies took me between 5-7 hours. However, the more I learned about color mixing along the way and developed a painting process that worked well for me, I got faster. So by the end, most scene studies took me around 2-3 depending on the complexity of the scene.
@@allisonaletha wow 🤗 that's amazing, I am very slow artist ,even for a simple painting I take lot of hours 😅 Hope I will pick my speed in future
