I think it’s interesting that DeeDee called for Gypsy’s help as she was being stabbed. She played Gypsy as being too sick and feeble to even walk. But in her final moments, DeeDee finally dropped the act.
I wish you were wrong about that, but unfortunately it's very true. I get incredibly frustrated when I think about this subject. If you ignore the sentence given to a newly convicted murderer and consider only the amount if time they ACTUALLY spend behind bars, the numbers are all over the damn place! The inconsistencies in sentencing in this country are absolutely ridiculous. I don't get it. There are 70-80 year old women still locked away 40 or more years after killing their abusive partner in self defense. There are people who serve 25, 30 or more years for manslaughter even with the victim's family supporting their parole. Then you have cold, violent, angry, abusive killers who have no remorse and who shot someone to death over $50 and don't even regret it outside the part where they were caught. And people like that, I hear all the time of them getting 15 to life, serving 10 or less in actuality, then upon parole they kill again. It's insane.
Justice isn’t administered the same everywhere. It isn’t federally mandated. It’s up to each state. And there are appeal processes. And judges, prosecutors and defense lawyers and juries also affect the outcome. The system isn’t perfect but it could be so much worse.
Can I just ask a question that I don't see anyone covering? What about all the drs being held responsible for what Gypsy had to endure? How do you convince a so-called medical expert that your child has all these diseases?? I find it very alarming that these drs went along with this nightmare. Who holds them accountable?
If this is really true they should not hold licenses to practice. I am also wondering why legal action was not persued against them, which is why I am wondering about that.
Unfortunately, the kind of mental institutions that someone like Godejohn would have benefited the most from were all defunded during the Reagan administration. A criminal found not guilty due to insanity is now essentially sentenced indefinitely to solitary confinement. It's really not the lesser of two punishments that people believe it is
I agree but there is a certain shame in being in a mental institution. For example, if you are ever released you'd have to explain to a prospective employer: "I notice you were not employed between 2020 and 2023." Godejohn would have to say, "I was in a mental institution, hoping to improve my prospects."
Because he had the mental capacity to understand right and wrong, make a plan he followed through with, etc. He showed through his actions and thoughts he was not legally insane or incompetent. He understood what he was doing. And frankly he wanted to do it even though he knew it was wrong.

Well Gypsy IS her mother's daughter. They both knew how to find suitable victims. Gypsy doesn't seem to suffer from any pangs of conscience in regards to Godejohn being stuck forever behind bars whilst she enjoys her 15 minutes of fame, getting married and being seen as the "brave victim", getting all that sympathy and glorification from the public. She's just left him in the dust as she enjoys her new life.

Nick's case must be reviewed and retried. It's absolutely heartbreaking that a kid with such extreme difficulties is abandoned like this. We cannot call ourselves a decent society if this is how we treat our most vulnerable.
I agree he should have possibility of parole. What I see difficult about his case is that his intellectual difficulties were allowed to come in the trial and the jury was given the option to choose if they would take it in consideration and give him second degree, the same as Gypsy or first degree. The jury decided, if it was excluded then I see the possibility to ask for a new trial, like the Menendez case that they are asking one now because the prosecution excluded the abuse evidence in the trial, but with Nick the jury got it and for some reason decided to not take it in consideration. From the judicial point of view, it would be going over the jury’s decision that in our society they are considered the fact finders.

There is a huge disparity in the way each perpetrator was treated, despite GRB (understandably of course) organising the entire thing. We develop way more slowly in certain ways, I was quite bright in certain areas but only really got my head round the normal, everyday stuff in my 40s. Me too. People forget the "boiling frog" story, that if you put a frog in a pot of water then bring it to a boil, the frog stays in the water until it is too late. Gypsy's dad, her doctors, other family members, got boiled. They were gas lit into believing DeeDee. While what Dee Dee did was unconscionable, I have to wonder about her history - what happened in her life to warp her in such a way that she felt this was the right thing to do.
@@Nathalie922_ I think what they meant was that Dee Dee was in no way a mother to Gypsy. Yeah, she gave birth so biologically there's a connection but the actual mothering never really happened. Dee Dee is more of a teacher, or even egg-donor, to Gypsy than a mother (nurturing and caring).
I understand that her mother was ill but I have greater sympathy for Gypsy and what she went through. Her ex was vulnerable, easily swayed and clearly needed greater help and support than he received. She used him because she didn't want to do it herself. He did what he thought was right and it's scary to think that if he hadn't done it, she might be trapped in that house to this day. He shouldn't be locked up for the rest of his life but he was convinced to kill someone and should spend a few years in hospital/rehabilitation to prevent this from happening again.
I 100% agree too. It’s such a hard subject. While I understand the life long abuse Gypsy was going through, I don’t agree that she had her mother murdered and manipulated a (in my opinion) vulnerable and lonely person to kill her. He likely saved her life but gave his in return to set her free. The whole thing is very sad.
Nicolas was not mentally on the level of Gypsy, even though she was not a fully developed person either. Gypsy did know a lot more about being manipulative from being around her mother, who also had a mental illness in many ways.

Another interesting Munchausen’s case is that of Marybeth Tinning who actually killed 9 of her own infant children over a long period of time. Her crimes went undetected for such a long period because of the turnover in medical and LE personnel that occurred during the intervening years. She worked for a long time as a school bus driver for a company that serviced the school where I worked as a teacher which is still chilling to think about.
The dumbest part was the so called dr that claimed SIDS for the children. Even two to five years old and one adopted child. Talk about incompetence. I believe she made parole.
I will never forget that case!!!! If I am not mistaken, I was pregnant with my only son when all this came to light and only 20 yrs. old.. I was so so enthralled and appalled by that case.

Because he was an outsider to the situation and didn't grow up under the power of that abuser, which can warp the victim's mind to see no other option. He should've seen another option, in fact he did, but he didn't insist on it. He chose murder because he'd wanted to kill even before, and he was greatly satisfied with the opportunity. If she used him, he let himself be used and enjoyed it. I absolutely don't think she should be given a pass. But he sure shouldn't either.
I sure do agree with you. Usually, the instigator IS given the same sentence. I wouldn't/don't want to see either one of them do life, but what happened isn't fair.

I’m very concerned about this since I have a son that has autism. Kids pick up that my son is not neurotypical and they use that to manipulate him. I feel very bad for Nicholas. I understand that Gypsy was very much a victim. She learned how to manipulate through how her mother treated her. Where is the justice for Nicholas?! I have autism and I'm so sick of this guy getting pity for a murder because of it. He fantasized about murdering someone before the option to murder Dee Dee came up. He wanted to r-pe her dead body but Gypsy wouldn't let him. He got a thrill from it. He was turned on. Gypsy had him r-pe her so he wouldn't do it to Dee Dee's dead body. He had enough executive functioning skills to help plan and premeditate and even have second thoughts and still go through with the murder.
Nicholas Godejohn saved Gypsy's life. The mother, Dee Dee, was eventually going to kill her daughter; that is a fact. When Nicholas states he was Gypsy's hero, he is 100% accurate and truthful, and I 100% agree with him.

Agreed. Gypsy was a prisoner her whole life and of all the people she tried to reach out to, Nicholas was the only one who believed in her and tried to help her. He was indeed her rescuer.

As a mother to a son with autism all I can say is that I know how easily influenced he can be. He needs lots of emotional and behavioural support in order to keep him regulated. Children don’t just grow out of autism with age, that support needs to be ongoing both at home and in the community, especially in young adulthood when hormones become a factor. In this case I don’t believe he should have gone to prison, he should have served time in a psychiatric unit where staff are trained in mental health. He did have less culpability due to being autistic given that Gypsy persuaded him to kill her mother. He was vulnerable to manipulation. It wasn’t his idea, he suggested they run away. Perhaps if it had been his idea I would feel differently.
I agree, and apart from his autism he also has a low IQ of only 82. So he could easily have been led to believe this was the only way to "save the love of his life". He definitely has a dark side too but I feel like life in prison without any chance of parole is too harsh.

I think it’s absolutely unjust that Gypsy gets to walk and Nicholas has to spend the rest of life in there. Everyone’s applauding that she’s free to live her life now, but what about the man that gave her that freedom? Gypsy manipulated that a mentally vulnerable man into committing murder for her.
I'm sure she's quite good at the psychological manipulation. Being impartial here, but Gypsy is not physically attractive by most standards. It says something that she's apparently been engaged a few times and is now married, and got a guy to commit murder for her. I guess Godejohn was desperate and without any experience, and really any young female would do. Even now he's not doing himself any favors saying some of tje things he does, and hasn't turned on Gypsy. He's still attached to her, even now, when she's married to another guy. Personally I think Gypsy was partly driven by anger at her mother, to kill her. I mean it's understandable. But when push came to shove, the bloody and violent reality of seeing anyone - even someone you hate, who did many terrible things to you and put you through a lot of suffering - was not something Gypsy could handle. She stayed in the bathroom and never had to witness the murder. Godejohn did try to talk her out of it and suggested they just run away together. I mean what power would the mother have had to make Gypsy live with her again? Wasn't Gypsy legally an adult by then? It doesn't seem like Godejohn has family or anyone really supporting him and advocating for him. I wonder if he would have ended up in prison for a violent crime or serious crime (the indecent exposure charge etc. doesn't necessarily mean he'd have become a rapist or pedophile) if he'd never met Gypsy. I wouldn't say that everyone is applauding (I see lots of critical and skeptical comments about her), but some of the comments and attitudes, and the way Gypsy is being presented as heroic or something - that makes me understand some of what the mother was getting out of all of this. She must have enjoyed playing the "dedicated mom" to her "severely ill/disabled child". Getting all the attention, and sympathy, being seen as a saint, heroic, selfless etc. Of course, the mother also got other things out of it like apparently financial benefits etc. and probably she enjoyed the control over another person's life. Maybe even enjoyed the manipulation, duping others including doctors. Gypsy seems to be making the most of things. She's apparently been engaged a few times. And now she's married and free, and getting all this media attention, kind of a "star", getting all this sympathy. It does seem like she enjoys the public attention, but I mean I don't know her and maybe I'm reading her all wrong.

Thank you for this really balanced video. What Gypsy went through is undoubtedly horrific. But her courting the limelight and being heralded a hero makes me really uncomfortable. I can understand the need for her to do maybe one or two carefully controlled interviews because there is so much interest in her case and if you don’t give the media something they will just keep digging. However her near constant press and social media presence is just too much-certainly enjoying her ‘fame’ and it just feels so inappropriate. Her mother died. And Nicholas (a clearly vulnerable/unstable/disturbed/easily led individual) is in prison for the rest of his life-after committing a murder she manipulated him into doing. I hope he can get a new trial. People often forget that offenders are often victims themselves. So two things can be true. Gypsy was victim but she manipulated him. She basically hired a hit man.
This guy was not functioning on an adult level and got pulled into something over his head. This whole thing was a cascade of failures by the people around both of these kids.

As she says...she did her time, and now she is moving on...this tv exposure etc has landed in her lap...not sure what jobs/careers are generally available to uneducated felons in America, who never went to school... but could be slim pickings. What would I do? Exactly the same as her!!

Dr Grande and Ozark in Netflix was my company during lockdown due to COVID while i was all alone for several months.I don't agree always and I don't always appreciate his humour,i know i might be the only one here,but his voice calms me. Anyway this case was always so dark and complicated i cannot decide via the internet about his conviction.

My mind was definitely chnaged when I heard him say he would do it again. He did not learn his lesson. He still does not understand that there were other ways to help gypsy. He is so obsessed with sex and his lust for her blinds him to anything ellse. A person like that is very dangerous. I agree he should have s chnace for parole if he ever learned anything and genuinely came to understand what he did wrong. But that is not likely to happen anytime soon, if ever.
Nicholas wasn’t capable then nor is he capable now in understanding the gravity of what he’s done. He felt he was her only hope. He’s mentally ill. Is he, did he get the same mental help as Gypsy? No.
It's not his autism that is so dangerous it's his mental illness. I believe he is very dangerous. He cannot live on his own. He needs to be supervised the rest of his life.

I was watching an interview with Gypsy and it was so telling just how manipulative she can be and how little she really thought of Nick. When another media called her a murderer and a felon she said that she wasn’t a murderer and doesn’t believe she is a felon. She also said that he should serve life as he committed the act. Now that gave me the ick (for want of better word) and a doubt to her victim hood. I don’t doubt she was horrifically abused by her mother but I think she is very well aware of how to play that up. Something is off about her and I can’t quite put my finger on what that is fully. By her saying that she isn’t a murderer is not taking accountability for her part. Even if she didn’t physically do it she was the one who pulled all the strings and made it happen. She knew that there were other options even saying about getting pregnant with Nick’s baby at one point. What happened that night was orchestrated by her. I’m sure she knew Nick was easy to manipulate and that he’d do whatever she wanted and I think she saw Nick as a means to an end of her abusive mother’s control. When she was describing this interviewer calling her a murderer you could see it angered her. I hope I’m wrong and she does use her platform for other victims and show them that the path she chose wasn’t the right way to go. If she continues to act and speak the way she does about the crime then I can see the public turning on her especially when a lot of people think Nick should have a chance for parole too. I know others that have been badly abused in every possible way in childhood and it wouldn’t crossed their mind to murder as a way out, if anything most have contemplated suicide. I keep seeing people say she shouldn’t have even gone to prison which is wrong as personally I think she needed to as it was 1st degree murder regardless of the circumstances and it shows that murder isn’t the right choice and you will be held accountable for that decision. In Missouri if one is convicted of first degree murder the law only allows for the death penalty or life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

My son is on the spectrum. Since childhood, he has adopted friends who have various issues. I know he is easily manipulated. How can anyone have Nicholas’ case re-evaluated? Is there a process? It’s obvious from the beginning of his interrogation that he didn’t understand the seriousness of what he was saying and that he desperately needed an attorney to be present. I wish there was a law saying all intellectually challenged adults should not be interviewed without council. His sentence is usually cruel.

I think it’s interesting that DeeDee called for Gypsy’s help as she was being stabbed. She played Gypsy as being too sick and feeble to even walk. But in her final moments, DeeDee finally dropped the act.

I wish you were wrong about that, but unfortunately it's very true. I get incredibly frustrated when I think about this subject. If you ignore the sentence given to a newly convicted murderer and consider only the amount if time they ACTUALLY spend behind bars, the numbers are all over the damn place! The inconsistencies in sentencing in this country are absolutely ridiculous. I don't get it. There are 70-80 year old women still locked away 40 or more years after killing their abusive partner in self defense. There are people who serve 25, 30 or more years for manslaughter even with the victim's family supporting their parole. Then you have cold, violent, angry, abusive killers who have no remorse and who shot someone to death over $50 and don't even regret it outside the part where they were caught. And people like that, I hear all the time of them getting 15 to life, serving 10 or less in actuality, then upon parole they kill again. It's insane.

Justice isn’t administered the same everywhere. It isn’t federally mandated. It’s up to each state. And there are appeal processes. And judges, prosecutors and defense lawyers and juries also affect the outcome. The system isn’t perfect but it could be so much worse.

A criminal found not guilty due to insanity is now essentially sentenced indefinitely to solitary confinement. It's really not the lesser of two punishments that people believe it is

Frankly, I have to wonder if Gypsy was partly, or even largely, motivated by anger at her mother for all that she'd put her through, and so she wanted to kill her mother. And she justified this to herself with the reasoning that the only way to escape the abuse was to kill her.
It's interesting that Gypsy chose to hide in the bathroom so she didn't have to hear and see her mother being stabbed to death. I mean that is quite grisly to see. That's why she needed Godejohn to do it. She wouldn't have had the nerve to go through with something that violent and bloody - poison, maybe - but stabbing someone many times, no.
Nick's case must be reviewed and retried. It's absolutely heartbreaking that a kid with such extreme difficulties is abandoned like this. We cannot call ourselves a decent society if this is how we treat our most vulnerable.
I agree he should have possibility of parole. What I see difficult about his case is that his intellectual difficulties were allowed to come in the trial and the jury was given the option to choose if they would take it in consideration and give him second degree, the same as Gypsy or first degree. The jury decided, if it was excluded then I see the possibility to ask for a new trial, like the Menendez case that they are asking one now because the prosecution excluded the abuse evidence in the trial, but with Nick the jury got it and for some reason decided to not take it in consideration. From the judicial point of view, it would be going over the jury’s decision that in our society they are considered the fact finders.
I have an autistic son of 16yo, and I fear for the day that I am not here anymore to protect him against such people in society.

Me too. People forget the "boiling frog" story, that if you put a frog in a pot of water then bring it to a boil, the frog stays in the water until it is too late. Gypsy's dad, her doctors, other family members, got boiled. They were gas lit into believing DeeDee. While what Dee Dee did was unconscionable, I have to wonder about her history - what happened in her life to warp her in such a way that she felt this was the right thing to do.

I understand that her mother was ill but I have greater sympathy for Gypsy and what she went through. Her ex was vulnerable, easily swayed and clearly needed greater help and support than he received. She used him because she didn't want to do it herself. He did what he thought was right and it's scary to think that if he hadn't done it, she might be trapped in that house to this day. He shouldn't be locked up for the rest of his life but he was convinced to kill someone and should spend a few years in hospital/rehabilitation to prevent this from happening again.

While I understand the life long abuse Gypsy was going through, I don’t agree that she had her mother murdered and manipulated a (in my opinion) vulnerable and lonely person to kill her. He likely saved her life but gave his in return to set her free. The whole thing is very sad.
Nicolas was not mentally on the level of Gypsy, even though she was not a fully developed person either. Gypsy did know a lot more about being manipulative from being around her mother, who also had a mental illness in many ways.

Another interesting Munchausen’s case is that of Marybeth Tinning who actually killed 9 of her own infant children over a long period of time. Her crimes went undetected for such a long period because of the turnover in medical and LE personnel that occurred during the intervening years. She worked for a long time as a school bus driver for a company that serviced the school where I worked as a teacher which is still chilling to think about.
The dumbest part was the so called dr that claimed SIDS for the children. Even two to five years old and one adopted child.
Talk about incompetence.

I have autism and I'm so sick of this guy getting pity for a murder because of it. He fantasized about murdering someone before the option to murder Dee Dee came up. He wanted to r-pe her dead body but Gypsy wouldn't let him. He got a thrill from it. He was turned on. Gypsy had him r-pe her so he wouldn't do it to Dee Dee's dead body. He had enough executive functioning skills to help plan and premeditate and even have second thoughts and still go through with the murder.
Nicholas was manipulated and used. A handicapped convicted to life. What kind of judge convicts a handicapped man?

I wonder if Dee Dee ever had any thought of killing Gypsy to claim life insurance... So yeah there is that potential. Gypsy was famous in the town and everybody knew about her. As a mother to a son with autism all I can say is that I know how easily influenced he can be. He needs lots of emotional and behavioural support in order to keep him regulated. Children don’t just grow out of autism with age, that support needs to be ongoing both at home and in the community, especially in young adulthood when hormones become a factor. In this case I don’t believe he should have gone to prison, he should have served time in a psychiatric unit where staff are trained in mental health. He did have less culpability due to being autistic given that Gypsy persuaded him to kill her mother. He was vulnerable to manipulation. It wasn’t his idea, he suggested they run away. Perhaps if it had been his idea I would feel differently.
I agree, and apart from his autism he also has a low IQ of only 82. So he could easily have been led to believe this was the only way to "save the love of his life". He definitely has a dark side too but I feel like life in prison without any chance of parole is too harsh.
As an autistic person myself, no one should get away with severe crimes due to being autistic. If he’s a danger to society, keep him away from it.

I think it’s absolutely unjust that Gypsy gets to walk and Nicholas has to spend the rest of life in there. Everyone’s applauding that she’s free to live her life now, but what about the man that gave her that freedom? Gypsy manipulated that a mentally vulnerable man into committing murder for her.
I'm sure she's quite good at the psychological manipulation. Being impartial here, but Gypsy is not physically attractive by most standards. It says something that she's apparently been engaged a few times and is now married, and got a guy to commit murder for her. I guess Godejohn was desperate and without any experience, and really any young female would do. Even now he's not doing himself any favors saying some of tje things he does, and hasn't turned on Gypsy. He's still attached to her, even now, when she's married to another guy.
Personally I think Gypsy was partly driven by anger at her mother, to kill her. I mean it's understandable. But when push came to shove, the bloody and violent reality of seeing anyone - even someone you hate, who did many terrible things to you and put you through a lot of suffering - was not something Gypsy could handle. She stayed in the bathroom and never had to witness the murder.
Godejohn did try to talk her out of it and suggested they just run away together. I mean what power would the mother have had to make Gypsy live with her again? Wasn't Gypsy legally an adult by then?
It doesn't seem like Godejohn has family or anyone really supporting him and advocating for him. I wonder if he would have ended up in prison for a violent crime or serious crime (the indecent exposure charge etc. doesn't necessarily mean he'd have become a rapist or pedophile) if he'd never met Gypsy.
I wouldn't say that everyone is applauding (I see lots of critical and skeptical comments about her), but some of the comments and attitudes, and the way Gypsy is being presented as heroic or something - that makes me understand some of what the mother was getting out of all of this. She must have enjoyed playing the "dedicated mom" to her "severely ill/disabled child". Getting all the attention, and sympathy, being seen as a saint, heroic, selfless etc. Of course, the mother also got other things out of it like apparently financial benefits etc. and probably she enjoyed the control over another person's life. Maybe even enjoyed the manipulation, duping others including doctors.
Gypsy seems to be making the most of things. She's apparently been engaged a few times. And now she's married and free, and getting all this media attention, kind of a "star", getting all this sympathy. Thank you for this really balanced video. What Gypsy went through is undoubtedly horrific. But her courting the limelight and being heralded a hero makes me really uncomfortable. I can understand the need for her to do maybe one or two carefully controlled interviews because there is so much interest in her case and if you don’t give the media something they will just keep digging. However her near constant press and social media presence is just too much-certainly enjoying her ‘fame’ and it just feels so inappropriate. Her mother died. And Nicholas (a clearly vulnerable/unstable/disturbed/easily led individual) is in prison for the rest of his life-after committing a murder she manipulated him into doing. My mind was definitely chnaged when I heard him say he would do it again. He did not learn his lesson. He still does not understand that there were other ways to help gypsy. He is so obsessed with sex and his lust for her blinds him to anything ellse. A person like that is very dangerous. I agree he should have s chnace for parole if he ever learned anything and genuinely came to understand what he did wrong. But that is not likely to happen anytime soon, if ever.
Nicholas wasn’t capable then nor is he capable now in understanding the gravity of what he’s done. He felt he was her only hope. He’s mentally ill. Is he, did he get the same mental help as Gypsy? No.

I was watching an interview with Gypsy and it was so telling just how manipulative she can be and how little she really thought of Nick. When another media called her a murderer and a felon she said that she wasn’t a murderer and doesn’t believe she is a felon. She also said that he should serve life as he committed the act. Now that gave me the ick (for want of better word) and a doubt to her victim hood. I don’t doubt she was horrifically abused by her mother but I think she is very well aware of how to play that up. Something is off about her and I can’t quite put my finger on what that is fully. By her saying that she isn’t a murderer is not taking accountability for her part. Even if she didn’t physically do it she was the one who pulled all the strings and made it happen. She knew that there were other options even saying about getting pregnant with Nick’s baby at one point. What happened that night was orchestrated by her. I’m sure she knew Nick was easy to manipulate and that he’d do whatever she wanted and I think she saw Nick as a means to an end of her abusive mother’s control. When she was describing this interviewer calling her a murderer you could see it angered her. I hope I’m wrong and she does use her platform for other victims and show them that the path she chose wasn’t the right way to go. If she continues to act and speak the way she does about the crime then I can see the public turning on her especially when a lot of people think Nick should have a chance for parole too. I know others that have been badly abused in every possible way in childhood and it wouldn’t crossed their mind to murder as a way out, if anything most have contemplated suicide. I keep seeing people say she shouldn’t have even gone to prison which is wrong as personally I think she needed to as it was 1st degree murder regardless of the circumstances and it shows that murder isn’t the right choice and you will be held accountable for that decision. He was absolutely manipulated by Gypsy Rose but both of them shouldn’t have to pay this harsh price by taking out a monster who would have NEVER stopped victimizing her daughter. I have a daughter who’s on the spectrum (for real, she’s autistic) and she’s VERY easily swayed and my mind just automatically goes to her when I learned about him being on the spectrum as well. Sure people on the spectrum may be easily manipulated. I have a little brother with autism and you cannot talk that kid into doing anything he doesn’t want to do or believing anything he doesn’t want to believe- but people are all different. Being on the spectrum, however, does not mean that people with autism do not understand the difference between right and wrong.

He should have been put in a mental institution and I feel bad that he received life in prison. Gypsy will need some help now that she’s out of prison. I don’t feel that prison and getting her GED has healed all of her wounds. I hear that her husband is a nice man, so I hope he gets her counseling. In Missouri if one is convicted of first degree murder the law only allows for the death penalty or life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

My son is on the spectrum. Since childhood, he has adopted friends who have various issues. I know he is easily manipulated. How can anyone have Nicholas’ case re-evaluated? Is there a process? It’s obvious from the beginning of his interrogation that he didn’t understand the seriousness of what he was saying and that he desperately needed an attorney to be present. I wish there was a law saying all intellectually challenged adults should not be interviewed without council. His sentence is usually cruel.
