Thank you for the continued information. As a new player, I literally know nothing about this game, so I appreciate videos like this so I'm not totally overwhelmed when I start. I find that when I do get overwhelmed, I tend to walk away from the game because it becomes too much. So information like this at least gives me some knowledge of the game, especially at the start, so thank you for sharing your insight with players like me. Another great video.
18:40 This is just for any new players: If you PvP flag, you are opting in to the open world PvP mechanic. Understand that this comes with a bonus to exp, sure, but it also comes with open world PvP. Please do not get upset if you are killed by another player when you choose to participate in open world PvP. Also remember there is voice chat in the game. Use it and you might make a friend instead of an enemy.
Just subbed. Looking forward to class guides specially for healer . I’ll be on Xbox. Hopefully targeting is easy for healing controller. October 15 is so close.!!!!
Thanks a lot, good video. I am hoping the graphucs changes that are supposed to happen make the game run a bit smoother on my laptop than it did before
3:57 didn’t they say they’re taking repairing out as well? So repair parts shouldn’t be shown where they are? Or am I tripping? I thought I remember seeing repairing gear was going away
Others have said this as well. I'm not positive but it seems they are removing it. If so, I'll just remove that part of the video. Thanks for the comment!
Really good starting guide to learn to first steps, i really wanna start the game with his "new release" as eternum, but i think ill wait till its on sale at steam, 59 bucks is a bit much atm^^
That's a good combo since they both progress off dexterity. You will start with a spear secondary but you should be able to get a great sword pretty fast
It is an MMO so it's designed to be played in a group and I think many people would argue that the group content is better than a solo experience but I enjoy solo play. It's definitely fun for casual play as well. In my opinion.
Im still waffling on what TS to choose. Engineering goes with my weapon choice, but you can also get great weapons from the faction vendor starting at L20. Cooking or alchemy will be useful long term but its also a pita to raise above 50.
Faction vendor kinda sucks if you do dungeons, they will get you better gear and the best gear is from the crafting of course. In regards of the skills and the market, I guess weaponsmithing kick start could be cool, because it's one of the most expensive skills to learn and they are not so common in the market, so you will make da gold
I think each of the crafting skills is viable. Tools and bags are huge early though. I feel like weapons and armor don't become as important till later
I am not putting in another 2500 hours to a fesh server. It would be a massive waste of my time. AGS still failing - It would be nice if maybe I could get transmogs or carry over of things to benefit me on fresh server. Are transmogs account based?
I'll be doing both. I'm keeping my current character to run the raid and PvP zone and doing a fresh start character to experience the remade story and cinematics
It can. Really depends on your server and how fast the territories are claimed. I remember wars breaking out within the first few weeks of the game releasing. To make sure you are able to take part, get to max level as fast as possible.

The best way to play New World is to avoid “new player guides” and explore the game for yourself. Weapons and leveling is supposed to be fun and something to be discovered. Also… New World: Aeternum hasn’t even launched yet 😂. I’ve never seen someone create a new player guide based on an open beta.
Everyone has fun different ways. This guide is for people looking to get a head start when they load into the game. Some people have fun by optimizing their gameplay and doing things the fastest. Some people want to find out on their own. No one that wants to find stuff out on their own will click on a video for getting the best start in a game. So this video isn't for them. New World has been out for years. Aeternum comes out in 14 days. Have you been running around commenting on people's videos for Throne and Liberty lately telling them they shouldn't be posting guides before the game comes out? I could watch a guide video on TL weeks ago but it went into early access last week.
In a way yes it is the best to not watch guide videos for new players, but im a new player and I'd like to know what everything on the screen means asap and not spend a hr or so of my gameplay figuring out what everything on the screen means also be given info that maybe otherwise the game will not give me so this guide is good for me
Again, I think it's different for every person. I am the kind of person that gets a great deal of enjoyment out of optimizing my gameplay. There are also a lot of people out there who have a very limited time to play each day and they would like to have that time be spent not wasting time figuring things out.
@@BroadFame he edited his initial post. Don't bother commenting. He didn't mention the beta in his initial comment. Even then, people make content on beta's all the time. Not sure what he's getting at.
Its still worth playing as there's no subscription. Just in the 3 days alone of the beta. People knew their progress wouldn't carry over and it still had over 30,000 players influxed over the weekend. Don't listen to the people giving the game so much hate from before. It's pretty polished up. It could do with some extra end game content but it'll come with the 2025 roadmap. The game as itself is very good and has an enjoyable campaign.
Played new world since start till we gave up… PvE is boring since you have to do the same quest like a million times to level Pvp is a joke. So much wrong with it…dont even know where to start. But if you think you van defend your town when under attack….think again.
It takes substantially less time to level now. Have you played recently? I've had a lot of fun with PvP lately and I leveled from 60 to 65 really quick.

What if, hear me out now, what if you don't care about trade skills? I notice in several of your videos that you lean heavy into choosing archetypes based on the trade skills that they offer versus the weapon combinations. But what if you're a player that has no interest in trade skills?! Some people just want to get in game and smash things. Some people play to crush. Some people actually have a desire to get a leg up on weapons/armor now versus later. But you make it seem like trade skills is/should be a primary focus for every player. That's simply not the case/should not be the case. I now require you to rethink your entire life and every decision you have ever made since age 5. Thank you.
@@Juggernaut40KDM ha! That is definitely a good point. The reason it's important when considering your archetype is because everything else can be changed. Even if you don't plan on using trade skills when you start the game, you may change that later. You just never know. If I'm going to give advice to people though I'm going to do it with the best foot forward and that means telling people to plan on using trade skills. They're such a huge part of the game. I would be curious to see the percentage of people who haven't chopped down a tree or mined a node during their playtime. They just log on to smash people in PvP or run expeditions.
@@BraidedZero That rethinking your entire life bit was just a joke by the way. I don't want to come off overly harsh. But some people would rather just be consumers and leave the trade-skill stuff to other people. I feel that you're doing that playstyle a dis-service by saying archetypes are useless and the focus should be on the trade-skills instead. I'm a veteran player with maxed out engineering, weapon smithing, and armoring. But if I'm starting out fresh, I'd rather get a jump on my favorite weapon/armor combos and enjoying my preferred playstyle while leveling ASAP. I'll worry about leveling trade-skills later. It's not that big a deal. But for a lot of people, they'll never give two-shits about leveling trade-skills. They just want to hop in game, kill stuff, and look cool while doing it. That's where the fun is for them; not in dominating the gold ore market or whatever.
You're not harsh at all, I took it as a joke. We can definitely get set in our way of thinking so I enjoy it when people bring me out of my mindset and into others. I guess the main reason I think thia way is because I feel trade skills are such a huge part of the game. I'm willing to be convinced otherwise though and believe that there are some people who just want to load in and smash things. I'm curious how many people would fall into that category though.
