All things that surround us in our home should have a meaning. I've been a Muslim for four years now and the theme of 'pictures on the wall' has naturally received even more attention. Your detailed explanations were very enlightening for me.
You can put up pictures of your family only in private rooms. Photos of people are not haram, if there is no nudity. Another, you are not creating images of God, so people are not gods and it is ok to take photos of them.
I am a new revert and I find it useful to write down on a piece of paper the whole procedure of Salah as my guide and paste it on my wall so everytime I am praying I know what I am doing. I hope Allah (SWT) will accept my prayer.

I was about to get the 99 Names of Allah so I can abel to look and read it all the time when I am working around my house, so my thought are good Thank you mufti menk
One way to practice 99 names of Allah swt is to have them as your phone password one at a time for lobg enough that you can't forget then move to the second, third... names. If you forget the names you can look it up some other way at first. It something that has helped me so hopefully it would help anyone that's finding it hard to memorise
Salaam Alaykum, Im not sure what compelled me to comment and i mean no disrespect in anyway. As a revert i couldnt understand why music was even haram. there are so many reasons. Now i wake up with no sound except nature. And sadly permanent ringing in my ears from loud noise so I know why. However i have immense gratitude for this awareness and grateful to still hear the amazing music of birds. I just smile everytime i wake and hear the same cockatoo at 4.30 every morning wake up all the birds and they all start to sing WOW. When i took my pictures down i felt an amazing sense of peace as well as being in the momment by letting go. Now I notice easier where my thoughts go and as result I became more diciplined towards gratitude. Its like a peace and mercy for my eyes and more importantly for me my mind it sets me up for a peace full day. Thank you Mufti Menk for opening my thoughts.

From my true PERSONAL EXPERIANCE I had many pictures of my family and friends and many graduation pictures of myself in my bedroom. Each night before I was married I would be under attack by some kind of force in bed. I was pinned down and could not move for the life of me. I was screaming for my brothers and sisters, no one could hear me. My bestfriend once visited me and he was in my bedroom and he said 'please take those pictures down' I thought and thought he was wrong but he was 100% right. The attacks was getting worst and worst so I removed them all; 99.9% of the attacks was gone Al-Humdulila ! From then ALL the pictures of us was taken down in the home ! Please brothers and sisters do the same as me, it is not worth the big risks ! Allah hu Akbar, Allah hu Akbar !

Assalamualaikum wrb. Thank you for posting this, it's so relatable. Alhamdulillah thank you for posting this. A few days ago we had ruqyah and guris our house. The durrasyiffah who did it commented on what was not suppose to be on our walls. Unfortunately we have one relative living here who does not believe in Islam teaching and thus, hung masks and objects on the walls. When my grandparents do their best to mention it, he will violently be defensive and threaten them. He will not listen nor respect the wishes of my grandparents. To ask to take it down is like an act of war and we wish not to pursue negativity or stress during my grandparents years. I totally agree to this video in the beginning. To those who believes ( majority are my older relatives ) might think by putting it on the wall to ward off any evil or jinn or syaitan from entering homes. I understand the Angels come to our homes but will they truly leave when they see it especially when they're not being read. I hope to hear your reply.

The issue with many types of Islamic calligraphy is that it can be very difficult to decipher which verses they pertaining to due to it being written in a complex manner. They are only there for mere beauty and to look good on walls.

Each night before I was married I would be under attack by some kind of force in bed. I was pinned down and could not move for the life of me. I was screaming for my brothers and sisters, no one could hear me. My bestfriend once visited me and he was in my bedroom and he said 'please take those pictures down' I thought and thought he was wrong but he was 100% right. The attacks was getting worst and worst so I removed them all; 99.9% of the attacks was gone Al-Humdulila ! From then ALL the pictures of us was taken down in the home ! Please brothers and sisters do the same as me, it is not worth the big risks !

Alhamdulillah you explain it clearly, me I use to write the hadith and DUA, but not for decoration, especially when I use to pray,, my purpose is to memorize it, and Alhamdulillah its done...

Thank you so much for this topic.. I make Quranic Ayahs made with Swarovski crystals. I hang at my home to be read & i sell them as well .. But many of my clients asked wheather its lawfull or not so was searching abt this. & Alhamdolillah got this wil surely share with my clients. There is nothing harm in hanging quranic Ayah or 99 names of Allah as far as we read it. Jazakallah khair

Assalamualaikum wrb. Thank you for posting this, it's so relatable. Alhamdulillah thank you for posting this. A few days ago we had ruqyah and guris our house. The durrasyiffah who did it commented on what was not suppose to be on our walls.
Unfortunately we have one relative living here who does not believe in Islam teaching and thus, hung masks and objects on the walls. When my grandparents do their best to mention it, he will violently be defensive and threaten them. He will not listen nor respect the wishes of my grandparents. To ask to take it down is like an act of war and we wish not to pursue negativity or stress during my grandparents years.
I totally agree to this video in the beginning. To those who believes ( majority are my older relatives ) might think by putting it on the wall to ward off any evil or jinn or syaitan from entering homes. I understand the Angels come to our homes but will they truly leave when they see it especially when they're not being read. I hope to hear your reply.

The issue with many types of Islamic calligraphy is that it can be very difficult to decipher which verses they pertaining to due to it being written in a complex manner. They are only there for mere beauty and to look good on walls.
