I get goosebumps everytime I watch this vid. My 09 R1 fitted w/ slip-ons sounds cool but this is tops - a true "exotic". Nothing else on the road sounds like that.

I had an RC51 while saving for the 1098S I just got (Yellow)...next to my bike (as they put on breakaway levers...) was Michael Jordan's Desmo!! Sweet!!

That bike is a neck breaker. Notice how the young girls instantly turn their heads toward the growl. What a terrific bike.
I actually like seeing what the bike would be like driving on city streets. Sure, everyone wants to see it carve canyon roads, but it's nice to get a different perspective....a real world perspective - since this is about as close as anyone of us will ever get to owning one.

Not that it would happen... but now if only Honda would make a true Repsol Replica or Yamaha a Fiat Replica, that would be nice.
Although the Ducati is simply amazing, seeing one in person with the side fairings removed really lets you see the carbon fiber detail to this bike!
My 1098 gets those same looks when I pull out the dB killers. Love the RR, I just can't afford it.

You know the tail behind the riders but has the exhaust ports coming out the top surface of the rear section rather than underneath the seat? Its totally sweeet!
Only one lamp is on because it's on low beam. When you flip it on high beam both lamps come on. Most sport bike headlamps are set up that way.

i didn´t said it beats the desmosedici...this moto is far from normal super sport bikes..but against other sport bikes the zx-10r is superb in my opinion..
@MetalSnakesUK It is a very special kit you get with such price tag. This is already a bargain. Do you still remember the MV Agusta F4RR? That cost even more than the D16RR, only enthusiasts would be able to identify the changes that separates the ordinary F4 and the RR. My money is definitely on the D16RR. But since those who have enough money to buy the D16RR, they could probably afford to buy the F4RR as well.

a few months ago an 1198S drove by on the street. i came buckets...id faint if this thing went by
why why have they put indicators?? as if anyone is going to lookout for that where the bike is turning... love the desmo..
you need something that quick to get through glasgow without getting beaten up.

What a beautiful machine.....and if you think it's expensive; you should see the cost of a real MotoGP bike.
its literally a motogp bike not just a mass produced road bike, thats why it costs so much.
actually i m not yamaha fan i m honda fan ,but for the first time i like the r1 09 and i thiink is the best superbike this year.After this precisation i m just a consumer like everybody and as a consumer i think the desmo is yes better than a comercial bike but i would not pay 60000 euro even if ,eventually,i could afford.
so when they say replica, its from ducati, similar to the repsol model suziki, ovibusly its not the real motogp repsol or in this case rr but it looks like it and is faster than the normal one....right

F'ing beast of a bike, the ultimate duc.
Its a MotoGP Replica designed for the track and tuned to take on twisties of all sorts, and they show this off by riding it through a city. If your worried about dropping an 80k bike then don't ride it. and if you wanna make a video that truly shines get a confident rider, Break in some Tires and go on some real roads.

This bike is MotoGP only, and Ducati made a few replicas like the one in this video. Look at the price and you'll see why Honda, Suzuki, BMW, etc don't build bikes spec'd like this one. Are you willing to spend $100,000 on a new bike? Probably not, and neither are a BUNCH of others, so it's not worth it to manufacturers to design and build a comparable bike (although any super sport will probably keep up relatively well on a track).
i think your absolutely rite here, its a bit much to ask that much for an out of date shape, i do however respect that the bike took years to develop and the materials in the engine alone provide mind baffling engineering to use. it is a bike created as a memorial to the 2006 bike as said on the ducati website, the new R1 may have 190bhp but certainly doesnt have the 0-60 time the desmo has, im not saying its a big difference but 0-60 in 2.4 seconds is astonishingly fast.

Ik zie dat je uit NL komt dus zal het zo even uitleggen. Ik snap dat het een speciale motor is en ik zou hem natuurlijk willen maar iemand die niet zo rijk is en hem niet zomaar kan kopen kan beter een auto EN een motor kopen voor dat geld. En emotinal value betekent emotionele waarde en dat betekent dat je aan iets gehecht raakt, zoals mensen gehecht kunnen raken aan een speciale foto ofzo, en omdat het een ducati is heeft het niet automatisch die waarde.

This bike is almost the price of a superleggera...I wonder which one I would choose... I think the desmo rr because it's the closest to a true GP machine you can get..

I understand very well this bike ,HOW IS DONE ECC ECC i know is a REPLICA OF 2005 DUCATI MOTOGP:my point is
1)the look of the bike is more than 4 years old and i can see it!If you look at the bike dont tell me it looks like a new yamaha R1 09 very new and modern style because it looks ..old!FOR 60000 EURO i think they should give a very update bike and is not like that.
2)this bike has 200hp??well the new r1 has 190 hp and i dont know in the race track ...
