  • Hey everyone! Festival season is fully upon us and this is my ultimate guide to the essential items you need. These are nonnegotiable ha ha and definitely need to be in your bag. I didn’t mention hand sanitiser as a feel post Covid I won’t insult your common sense😂
    I’ve left links down below for each item to give examples of. Obviously you may find them cheaper in your local sports shop, camping shop or even your local supermarket.
    I hope you like this video, if you are going to any of the UK festivals this year I hope you have the most amazing time. If you need any questions for festivals abroad dont hesitate please comment down below as I have also attended festivals outside of the UK.
    ITEMS TO BUY

    amzn.eu/d/dsM2hiM
    amzn.eu/d/haMJFiD
    amzn.eu/d/0r7cK5D - cheaper at your local H&B but you also need these around the camp site for your waste
    amzn.eu/d/7ydrWXs
    amzn.eu/d/7naa4Ow - I’ve owned this one and it’s great. I understand if it’s far too expensive but it works and is so easy to put it up
    amzn.eu/d/4uRBD5r - cheaper in places like H&B
    amzn.eu/d/b0qPFop - don’t spend loads on this. Again probably cheaper somewhere else but this is an example
    amzn.eu/d/0McePDF - can definitely get cheaper else where
    amzn.eu/d/i2Bd3Kj - this is similar to mine but mine is more quilt like. This is the best for those of you who feel clostrophic in normal ones. A quilt however is so much cheaper.
    amzn.eu/d/8qs4WaG
    I take baby wipes and dettol wipes! Trust me you need the dettol wipes!

    So much useful information here!
    As a bit of a Festival veteran myself, I can share some of my experiences:
    Bin bags are good. Waterproof stuff sacks (Ortlieb for instance) are better - the do not tear as easily. And they are absolutely water- and airtight. Electronics go in a little Peli case that is equally watertight. At night, that goes with me in my sleeping bag towards the bottom part below my feet. Airbeds are a huge no-no for me. Not only are they bulky and heavy, I also find them insanely uncomfortable, noisy when you turn over and all the rest of it. Also not a big fan of pumping. But that is just personal preference. I would probably also be fine with a slab of rock with a bit of moss on it. A thin thermarest self-inflating sleeping pad is plenty enough for me. For seats - I cannot say enough good things about Helinox chairs. I am by no means a Slim Jim and those take my weight fine. Also, a folding table with an aluminium top - they cost less than 50 quid. Nothing worse that having to balance your cooking and your food on your knees or on the ground in the morning. Deffo doable, but if I can help it, a table is the way to go.
    I travel with a big hiking pack and always managed to get everything in. Including the (foldable) kitchen sink. Foodwise I pack noodles, rice, and everything I need for porridge. And coffee, obviously. Nobody wants to deal with me in the morning unless I have had my coffee. Everything else I can usually get some place locally. My very first festival I brought a bunch of tins. Yeah, not doing that again.
    Good hoodie and a wooly hat - that is probably one of the most important pieces of advice in this entire video. I also recommend taking a bandanna or one of those "Buff" fabric tube things. If you can, use merino wool wherever you can. Expensive, yes - but worth every penny. Best of all: it is not scratchy and will not become smelly even after days of wearing. If they do become grimy: Rinse them in lukewarm water and wash them with a bit of shampoo and they are good as new. I counted my blessings that I had those things that one year where temps at night plummeted to near freezing towards the end of May. I bundled up in all the clothes I had (including my hoodie and hat) and was OK. Not great, but OK. Fixing myself some hot tea and a bit of soup before going to bed I think genuinely helped.
    Others on the camp ground had an absolutely horrible night. Many looked so utterly miserable in the morning. A couple of people actually broke down their tents that morning and left. I was genuinely amused though when the first people from the hotel arrived. On one hand they pitied us campers ("Look at those poor bastards!"), on the other hand they shook their heads and admitted that camping was too hard core for them. Oh, and earplugs. Definitely do bring earplugs. They come in handy at night when the neighbours are partying all night as well as during concerts.

      Oooh ok. Yeah get a roll out that should help! Haha my sleep last year was perfect. A battery pump is also the best thing because if you deflate in the middle of the night you can just wack it in really quick. The heat last year I couldn’t have used a foot pump, I’d have been dying haha

      Oh you’ll have the best time!!! It never used to be so big either it was like a secret festival year ago so it’s great it’s got so big now!
      Any questions just ask! Don’t be anxious you’ll be fine. My first festival at 16 we didn’t have a clue and I swear to god how we got there and back is beyond me haha. I wish I’d had videos like mine back then, that’s why I make them because I would have given my left leg 🤣
      I have another one coming with some newer stuff etc soon 🖤🖤

    another about valuables get some padlocks and paadlock your doors zips together ..worked many times for us

    • @kembows
      @kembows  ปีที่แล้ว

      I really don’t recommend this as they will just rip your tent open if they want to get in and then you have more damage to deal with. If anything padlocks makes it look like you have stuff to rob and causes them to aim for your tent. If it works for you though perfect 😊 I just wouldn’t recommend xxx

    • @kembows
      @kembows  ปีที่แล้ว

      Is that for glasto? There is no easy trick I’m afraid. I haven’t been able to get one since 2017. It’s a golden ticket basically. I know people who’ve said it was easier to get tickets out of the country 🤣but other than that it’s luck of the draw unfortunately. Obv have the usual strategy of as many people trying as possible and everyone who is trying having their registration numbers so once through there is no time wasting but that’s it lovely xx
