One little tip. If you're there on Wednesday go up & watch the fireworks then go for your stroll. The atmosphere up there is brilliant & like the official start of the festival for a lot of us. Also look for the flushing loos up in the top camping area when you're around that way, they're clean & it just feels better on your arse sitting on a real toilet with more room. Last but most important tip, have a meeting point for the weekend. This is so that if you get lost or you go 1 way & your friends go another you have a point to go to. Mobile phones can be a bit touch & go due to the overhead pylons other than that have a great time & don't over do it. It's hard work walking around with a pack on your back when you have a banging headache & people are bumping into you in the heat or pissing rain. Other than that live it up. Oh oh & meet people it's the friendliest place on earth.
if you get to be a 'bus wankah' the tuesday evening as people are arriving ( to q!) is an amazing experience on the hill of death. Watching the sun set over the tor is just a great experience, everyone raring to go and you can see everything ready for you! ( the phones have a problem because theres so many in such a small area. it won't be the pylons , sometimes the trick is to force 3g instead of 4.. not got a 5g, but the theory on that is it SHOULD be better)... . flushing loos ? !?! ?!
@davefb top of the pyramid to the path, turn left and walk through the next two fields until you get to a point where you turn right (uphill) or left (downhill). Turn right go to the top turn left and you'll see in front of you the flushing latrines. 😳 they're cleaned regularly, always got bog roll and unless it's time for people to go for their morning ablutions there's rarely a queue
Those little packets of tissues are perfect for bog roll, even come in their own waterproof Packaging, just make sure you put the empty wrapper in the recycling.
Wooo. This is getting me excited. 15 working days till my glasto holiday starts. My pink brolly just arrived for T.W.F.T.P.U!! Hopefully we have 2017 weather!!
Bear in mind the Site is beyond HUGE, you will be covering many kilometres each and every day of the Festival -so appropriate and comfortable footwear is a MUST. With regards the weather being so changeable a hat is always must for me - protection from heatstroke or indeed a lively shower or two(and you don't need to worry about the state of your hair😉!) @realbenrogers
Great video for anyone! My advice on top of this would be... watch Countryfile’s weather report on the Sunday before and use this as your guide, but even if drizzle is forecast expect the site to get churned up really quickly - I’m taking waterproof walking boots and Gaitors instead of wellies this year! Will hopefully be more comfortable than trekking in wellies for 5 days. Take a plastic washing up bowl if you must have a wet wash - girls with us last time were able to wash their hair properly (ish) without needing a shower. Also, don’t worry about taking everything in at once - I always prepare for long queues and do two car trips - tents and clothes on day 1, drink at the bars on that day, back to the car first thing on day 2 and put booze in my back pack then. You’ll have plenty of walking to do so don’t kill yourself trying to carry everything before you’re even in the festival. Final tip... follow @secretglasto on Twitter for unannounced sets and surprises/rumours. Really valuable information... especially if you want to find the underground piano bar etc.
This will be our 15th Glasto. I’m still trying to fulfil a challenge to make something for myself, this effort is entering its 6th year now! Maybe I will spot you, one day hey!!
The solar shower tip. Great idea and if no sun you just warm up the water on your stove first. This works. NOT BOILING WATER..... Flipping fab video as always. See you in a field near a tree with luck.
LOVED MEETING YOU AT GLASTONBURY THIS YEAR!!! SORRY FOR ATTACKING YOU AT THE LOOS (MAY HAVE BEEN CONFIDENCE SPURRED ON BY A COUPLE OF AFTERNOON DRINKS!!!), I SHOWED MY HUSBAND OUR SELFIE AND HE COULDNT BELIEVE HE MISSED YOU BOTH 🤣🤣🤣 HOPE YOU BOTH HAD A FAB TIME, ALL THE BEST XXXX
Forget the Umbrella advice! Keep a fold up poncho in your pocket. Bring a large cotton scarf (acts as blanket, towel, you can soak in water if hot or act as sunshade) Buy an outfit from Oxfam on the Wed. Use the lockups for valuables. Dump the smartphone and bring a cheap burner phone. Don't camp next to the roadways, be a few meters in. Put wristband on lefthand if righhanded (think longdrops). Remember he most interesting things at the festival are the people not the bands,
Good tip for those travelling by coach or train. Only bring your spirits with you and maybe a can or two. Get camp set up and then get the coach at pedestrian gate A to the Tesco and aldi for your heavy crates! Works well for us
There is no avoiding the love the cows have for green leafy foods. Previous years has proved they are not there for burgers, pizza or cans of beer. So to avoid the late night early morning cows popping their heads through the tent entrance flaps always leave the juicy green leaf vegetables out side of the tent.
Wish i wash there but the line up this year and music in general is in a dire state right now. Theres lots to do but you still get those twats that create a 50 metre fortress around their tents and just sit in camp all weekend only to leave and maybe catch the headliner.
Hey guys!!! Wish i lived closer and could come....instead im here in PA its raining, we have hail and tornado video....anyway awsome vlog!!! :) good luck!!!
BARBSTER360 actually please do the three for 1 Offer they do...i want to see your 360 camera steam up! From stone circle in 17 it wasn’t too far, but took a lot of pacing back and forth till a traveller dude pop out and greet us! But they are known to move the location year on year! I do have a few pics of the place!
Hey guys, went to your meet on Thursday! What are your thoughts on the "food for a fiver"? I thought it was just a way for vendors to charge £5 for cheesy chips, I didnt see any meals for a fiver that were worth while. Thank you for the videos, they helped a lot
Is there anywhere you can buy crates of beer/cider? Would be more expensive than taking it in, but I guess it's cheaper than buying it by the pint at bars
Good tip we do is get camp set up and then at pedestrian gate A, you can jump a bus to the big Tesco and Aldi. About £3 each way. We do this as we coach it
Getting lost is ok here really it is. And any steward will help you out. Allow a bit of getting lost. I’ve done 14 glastos and still try to get a bit lost even now.
