tip i got from chef john on youtube and a french friend: (if you got the time) let the bread soak up all that mixture and then throw the slices in a preheated oven! more flavor and not at all soggy. best with stale bread just found your channel and made that salami sandwich tonight following your similar method. really good stuff 👍👍

Pretty much the same way that I've always made mine except I never used sugar in mine. One day I got to wondering and I substituted orange juice for some or even all of the milk. My granddaughter loved it.
Funny story. I didn't eat French toast for over 40 years. My mom used to make brunch after 12 pm, we used to watch Chiller Diller Matinees. I was watching a movie where killer trees ripped off a man's arm while my mom was making French toast. I was so disgusted by the amputation, that the smell of the French toast repulsed me and I couldn't eat it for 40 years. Thanks be to Allah, I have overcome my distaste and can now partake of French toast again.
I know most people don't but once in a while after I lay the bread down in the skillet I sometimes pour a little extra of the egg mixture on the slice when I first put it in. An extra enhancement.

Yea, I always crack the eggs first whisk them really well, then add the rest of my ingredients for a much better consistency. It works everytime.
