You do very well ! I am born Breton, and speak the language (here we have school where kids speak Breton in class, in every courses and graduate in this language as well. My kids speak fluently too and that is a treasure we are proud of as this is one of the last celtic language still actually spoken) And it seems that there are no "SH" but only "K" And I think that in old irish the "AI" of Eochaid could be pronoinced as the letter "EE" (As the band of traditional irish music named Geantrai in pronounced " Gantree") Furthemore it seems that a lot of celtic languages have a Eo pronounced "A" with a little "o" Sooo... maybe we could pronounce Eochaid : "Akeed" or "Ahokeed" This is my own opinion , wikis may tell otherwise but I experienced a lot of celtic languages spoken "live" by myself and I know that Wikis are definitely not always right. And everything I write here is not important as well. ;)
@@khelom I grew up in Ireland and had to learn Irish in school. Looking at Eochaid, I'd pronounce it like Ay-uh-heed. The CH is weird because you kind of do the k sound but without fully closing your throat so it sounds like a h almost but not exactly. It's hard to describe
I wonder if the copper red hue of the blade may imply Primordial Gold. I was wondering about something similar, though I just wasn't sure what the connection would be. Perhaps Eochaid vanished around the time the age of the crucible ended, and prior to that channeled energy from the crucible. So many interwoven details!
@@noctugal Odd thought of the tin foil hat variety, but maybe the briars around their armor are examples of plant life that stemmed from the crucible? And then also perhaps got the means to be a conduit for Arcane Energy? The dragons also we're closely related to the crucible having wings tails and horns, and also in that same manner require arcane stats to use. EDIT: There is actually a few items that stand out that require arcane: the albinuric weapons, the serpents bow (makes a bit more sense), and most interestingly of them all: the oracle bubble sorceries 🤔🤔
@@doomduck9073 I like to think they were a complete separate society. Their lore implies they are very reclusive, and the weapons seem to include just straight up copper or bronze with little gold tint. Also there's the whole "bronze nails killing trees" thing, which may explain why they weren't interacted with much by the Golden order
You should honestly have more subscribers! Your video was well-researched, and you had a pretty cool take on the lore. The presentation was also on par. Colour me impressed!
Life steal fist ash of war (which Enshaa of the royal remains is capable of) says that this kind of telekinesis is achieved through mastery over different kinds of energies. For HP gain it's mastery over vital energies but I believe mastery over mental and elemental energies is also possible. Which is the kind of telekinesis we see Elemer do. So I think Enshaa might be another Eochaidian... so maybe they are from the place where they worship the soulless god based on Royal remains armor
The pronunciation of Eochaid has been debated a lot, considering Japanese and Gaelic aren’t the most compatible, but the easier pronunciation are Ee-oh-cay-d (sounds kind of like a-okay but with an e) and Ee-oh-Kai (the ai part sounding like the word eye)
I wish I could find it, but I recall reading somewhere that Eochaid in Elden Ring is supposed to be a land where the people follow a culture similar to a combination of Celtic and Iroquois motifs.
O hEochaidh Hoy, Hoey, Haughey, Clanna De Dad, Darini Dal Fiatach Dynasty, Tuatha De Danann, Red Branch and Galloway Knights, as well as Hoy Island Orkney Island Old Norse Haey meaning high island, surprised to see this, very accurate, very much enjoyed, all the very best. I do find it interesting and very cool that a video game is made on my ancestry and heritage.
I think the samurai is actually the influence of Okina, I believe you were closer to accurate with the Irish inspiration for Elmer and the Eochaidians.
I heard several pronunciations of Eochaid when making this, and I eventually just chose one I could pronounce fairly easily 🤷

And it seems that there are no "SH" but only "K"
And I think that in old irish the "AI" of Eochaid could be pronoinced as the letter "EE"
(As the band of traditional irish music named Geantrai in pronounced " Gantree")
Furthemore it seems that a lot of celtic languages have a Eo pronounced "A" with a little "o"

I’ve always wondered if “the lands between” was in reference to “the lands between” Eochaid and the Badlands.
The colors of flowers where you find items and places is a big clue to understanding their lore.

there's a Red Branch Bow too so clearly they know of what you're talking about!
Sick video and so well put together look forward to seeing more of your work
Great video brother, keep up the good work
So many different inspirations for this game... so awesome - great video!

A thought. A regalia is a royal symbol, and it shares what is implied to be a common, or at least non-unique, battle art of Eochaid's people.
Elemer always reminded me of the penitent one from blasphemous

E-oh-Kade? Eh-oh-Chade? We may never know.
“Yoh-ked”

Eochaid DLC?!?!
Oh I thought Eochaid was pronounced as Yo-kid
Cuchulain is pronounced Coo-cuh-lain
I always pronounced it like e o Cade
"E-o-cade"
I believe eochaid is in the shadow of the erdtree dlc she hid it making it vanish
Eochaid sounds a bit like Lautrec and Fina.
Eochad
Whoever is playing is getting pieced up
I really was 😭

It's pronounced Yo-hay
