Explorations 001 - Berlin School (Elektron Syntakt)

So a new year means a new series of dawless jams. Last year was my first year into electronic music and I spent a lot of time discovering (budget) hardware synths. It was a very inspiring year and I really needed it to find out which direction I want to go with my music. At the end of the year I sold every other synth I owned and ended up with only one synth, the Elektron Syntakt, and a much clearer view of the genres I want to explore.
So this year I'm planning to do a new series where I dive into my favorite genres: techno, ambient, berlin school and drone music with a focus on minimalism. The series is fittingly called Explorations and will feature me getting comfortable with the Syntakt, and possibly another Elektron device.

Thanks. One of my worries before I bought the Syntakt was that is would sound too cold and harsh, but the videos by @substan convinced me that you also could create nice warm ambient sounds with it.

well made, also went through a couple of synths so far... as long as you don´t fall for the "synthtuber´s GASlighting" it will be alright.

Thanks. So far I’ve managed to keep it cool and actually managed to end the year with less synths than I started, although the one remaining is the most expensive one of the pack 😊. I do like watching synthtubers though, but the amount of devices they promote is so overwhelming that I actually end being interested in getting none 😂.

@@stofbug yeah I mean I like watching gear talk and all but I feel like youtube just became the town of undisclosed advertisments^^. When I do some videos for my channel I now feel almost forced to put a live plant into the shot and take a sip of coffee before I start:PP But yeah... I guess a little model D and maybe a hologram chroma console would fit right into your setup nice and snug:PP or in mine.. who knows.. Gas gas gas gas gas gas ^^

Thanks. It’s a mix of presets that I adjusted to get the sound I wanted and other sounds that I created from scratch.
