Hindus have never made fun of other faiths or their God. Other religions are kattar and have always tried to convert Hindus. Ab Hindu jaag gayaa hai. We are also being kattar. Doesn't mean we r converting people but we have learnt to defend our Dharm and will not let anyone convince us against it and convert us.

Fearing the enormous power the sage would recieve which might get misused Indra sent Menaka to seduce him and she suceeded in doing so. Then they fell in love . They even had a daughter "Shakuntala" . They were leading a happy romantic life that is before Menaka told the truth and then she was cursed to be deprived of her husband's and daughter's love .
