Poulenc turned himsalf towards the Catholic religion dring a pilgrimage in Rocamadour, famous for its Virgin. It is therefore quite natural for him to have wanted to write marial music, among which the Stavbat Mater is one of the texts most frequented by composers. The score is a masterwork, and we have here an outstanding rendering.
You are very good and Poulenc is really brilliant! My choir sang "Les Tisserands" in quarantine style. Write this in the search: you will surely like it. Corale Novarmonia - Les Tisserands (F. Poulenc)
I. Stabat mater dolorosa (0:00) II. Cujus animam gementem (3:51) III. O quam tristis (5:06) IV. Quae moerebat (7:57) V. Quis est homo (9:16) VI. Vidit suum (10:46) VII. Eja mater (14:17) VIII. Fac ut ardeat (15:37) IX. Sancta Mater (18:11) X. Fac ut portem (21:24) XI. Inflmmatus et accensus (24:54) XII. Quando Corpus (26:56)
pity, not in synch. recording is also not ideal and the choir is sometimes out of pace with the orchestra and the solo. Nice sound though with the boys, gives a different feel. I love Clare College choir.
Lovely music, beautifully performed - but the video is so awful I had to listen with my eyes closed. There are other things you can do with a camera than poke it up people's noses or pan slowly past them. And what on earth was the soloist doing in some sort of cloister off to the side??

No sync of any visual kind! Nice performance, though.
