I so enjoy getting to "spend time" with y'all. Cutting up firewood, cooking in the iron skillets, cornbread & beans, the singing, the family doing so many things together always takes me back to doing so much of the same things. Growing up in the country was a blessing I don't think I truly appreciated. The swag & little trees were so pretty! Your home is so beautiful. God bless y'all!
My husband and I retired to the Appalachian Mountains in South Central Pennsylvania in Somerset, Pa. We moved here after living in Pittsburgh almost our whole life. We love it. The town of Somerset is very close to my house. So quaint and just a small town feel. Surrounded by many farms, a lot of them owned by Amish Families. So happy we chose to make the mountains our home.
Thanks dear friends for enlarging my world. Both of us are very lucky that we got raised the way we were. I miss my little dad oh so much. He was more than my dad, ... he was my best friend. What he taught me would fill many books. This is not only thanksgiving week but on wednesday i will celebrate my 83 birthday. Thumbs up...
You girls have a long happy life ahead of you. I had my baby at 40! You have more confidence when you're older. Wisdom. And you care much less what other people think. It's good, you'll see.
Thanx Tipper, tell Matt to put production wings on that wood splitter and it will help a lot, particularly when he is splitting by himself. The type I had on my splitter was fixed wings, not the lift type. The wings keep the big pieces from falling to the ground, so no bending over and lifting heavy pieces to put back on splitter, saves back and time. Plenty of instructional videos about this on you tube, God bless.
Yall have your home beautifully decorated for CHRISTmas and God has the hills equally so. The spirit of the season is in your hearts and happiness of family and friends.
Lol your conversation about aging. I remember my husband and I at 23 saying ok, when we come out the other side of this tunnel we will both be 53 and I screamed Nooooooo....and here I am already 54. Corey, you will 30 in a hot minute 🤣🤣🤣
Tipper I was so impressed today to receive a Christmas card in return to the one I sent you and your family , did not expect to get one back just wanted send you all something special and home made from our home to yours . God Bless you this Christmas . Rev. William Penrod.
Tipper, I love how much you love Christmas! Your whole house is decorated, inside and out! I love how so much of your decorations come from outside in your yard and the woods. It always makes me happy to come to your house during the Christmas season. I can just sit and soak up the joy of it all!
I have a child that loves to collect rocks ,after watching one of your videos of your daughter talking about rocks I purchased my son a rock tumbler for Christmas. I hope he likes it and I hope it does well for him.
Thank you for taking us along through your day! I love listening to you guys play music! We live near mountain view Arkansas. The folk music capital of the world. It's our favorite place to be just sitting around and listening to the music!
I live the Christmas tree holders Matt made for you....what a creative idea. Your home is so warm and welcoming, Tipper. Love the greening, especially the old jar and bottle collection filled with greens!

Appalachia. I've been all over the world more than one time and have met many fine people and experienced a lot of different cultures. There is no other place in the world I would rather live than right here in Appalachia, just a few mountains over from this wonderful lady and her family. My wife is originally from Russia, and this lady influences her sometimes on how blessed she is to live in Appalachia now. Thank you for sharing another wonderful video.

I so enjoy watching your family just living your daily life. It reminds me so much of days gone by when my family lived so similar. Now the kids are all grown and mostly moved away and so many of the old folks have gone on to heaven. It is so nice to know there are folks who actually still live like you all do and how I try to. You all are a blessing to those of us who can’t live that way because of our age or our health. God bless you all at Christmas and may your new year be better than ever, with Katy’s rock sales and Kori’s wedding coming.
You all live in such a pretty and special place. This video really captures that. So much I love about this: the preparation of a great breakfast and supper, a ride through beautiful countryside, processing the firewood with the logsplitter, the gemstones, the pickin' and grinin' session, making your own fresh Christmas greenery pieces and the footage of the trees and sky. May you all have a wonderful Christmas.
I love when these videos come out. So calming. Love all the various subject matter, too. How many loads does it take for a season of firewood to get you through? We used to use our woodburner that is piped through the house. We cut, and split the wood ourselves. Hard work. Great looking food, Katie's r rocks are gorgeous. My dad cut me birch rounds many years ago for santas I used to make. I have some left. Love the white pine tree idea! Thank you Pressley family. 🎄🎄🎄
Katie's stones are just gorgeous! I'm going to take a look at what all she has for sale online! I love your decorations Tipper, they are so sweet and look like the kind we used when I was a kid and they just make everything so warm and homey. My Mom worked in our local flower shop for years as a floral designer and we used to go out in the woods to pick up pine cones and greenery to make swags and wreaths. I didn't decorate this year due to losing my husband in July, but next year I'm sure I'll feel much better and I'll get back in the swing of things. 🎄

These videos make my heart just ache for home. I lived in NorthEastAlabama for near 16 years and been back in California for 12. I am just yearning to get back . I sit here with tears in my eyes so many times and right now as I long for the mountains, and wood fires, and cozy in the woods with my family so full of love and hope. My children are grown and we are all across the US, so those days are gone. The memories will survive in my soul until the day I sleep for good. Thank you so very much for sharing these absolutely endearing pieces of your life with us.
Thanks Tipper for sharing your stories my friend. I know the working for firewood all to well. I love your family music. We have have same life on north side of the mountains. Keep up the good work of showing our life in these mountains.
Went to the Stamey Creek ETSY store and bought my wife a pair of earrings. Looking forward to giving to Fay. Love the youtube channel and all of your family. God bless and Merry Christmas!
The food looked awesome, perfect pancakes ! Dinner ,the cornbread looked so good! The different rocks were beautiful! Loved the singing! Love the Christmas decorations! Merry Christmas and God bless y'all always 🙏❤
I love this show. I don't watch much TV anymore but I spend hours watching your show. I live in Georgia. For years, I lived in Gainesville, Ga. I fell in love with the mountains, and my wife and I spent our first five years of marriage in Gainesville. Keep up with this wonderful show.
I loved everything about this video. Your life is so good and your family is so multi-talented. The rocks, the wood splitting, the food, the music and your beautiful greenery decorations were all so enjoyable to see and hear. Thank you for sharing. ❤️🎄

I. LOVE ALL THE STORIES ABOUT APPLICIAN LIFE! IT IS SO INTERESTING!! IT SEEMS LIKE A GREAT PLACE TOO LOVE! I LOVE THE GARDENS AND THE COOKING VIDEOS! I CAN WATCH THIS FOR HOURS!
Beautiful tree and delicious food. A little hint from a florist when using fresh products. Hot melt glue will turn loose when exposed to cold and then heat and cold. Look for Oasis floral adhesive. It will glue fresh flowers and greenery and doesn’t release with temperature changes.
I love the little wooden disk to hold pine boughs to make Christmas trees! We have a lot of Pine Trees here too. Not sure what the name is, but they are the long needles, I guess about 10" long, and medium size pine cones. Loved the video as usual, thank y'all for sharing! 🌼🌿
At minute mark 32:00, I paused the video and stared as I went back to my childhood in North Carolina and sat on the swing in the evening and just stared and wondered as a child does. I was such a happy little girl. Things changed for all of us 5 children when my parents decided to leave the rural life and go live in a city and not in a good way. But, I can't blame my parents for doing what made them happy. People often say 'life is what you make it'.....but, not always.
I had just put on a pan of cornbread when I watched you pouring your mix into your skillet. I love hearing that "sizzle" the mix makes when it hits that hot cast iron pan; that's when you know your cornbread is going to be really good! I loved your family playing and singing. I am trying to learn to play the ukulele, and my husband is getting me a Kalimba for Christmas. I love music and have always wanted to play an instrument. Maybe between those two, I will be able to work something out. 😊 Merry Christmas and God bless you all! ❤️
Looks like I'll be going to bed hungry tonight. Oh, I had supper. But then I saw that plate of cabbage, and ham 'n beans, and cornbread. I swear I could smell it. Love your videos.
I really enjoyed this video. Do I say that every time I comment? Anyway, about 30 years ago I started turning wood on the lathe. I've never looked at a woodpile the same way since. It would be like taking Katie to a rock quarry. Isn't it wonderful to be able to find beauty in the simplest things? Have a wonderful Christmas.
I’m trying to get my husband interested in getting a lathe. Every woodworking project I present him with he responds with, “I can’t do that, I don’t have a lathe!” 😂 Do you have a specific hobby that you use yours for? I’m open to him using it for anything but I have a special interest in bowls, spoons, and the like.
That ham made me hungry. I'm gonna get me some and cook it for breakfast. With scramble eggs. And cheese. And maybe some streek gravey. I think hobbies are good for a person I like wood carving. That's one my hobbies. It gives me Somthing to do and keeps my mind off of bad thoughts. And boredom. Hey like always I enjoy seeing what y'all do thanks for sharing. God bless and take care ,,,
We are deep in storm clean up mode after baseball sized hail over the weekend. I watched your videos last night to try to take my mind off of our busy week ahead and they were just what the Dr. ordered. Thank you for taking the time to make the videos!
Another great video. Love the idea of the little trees. Also about the trailer hitch I know all about Jimmy Riggen things to make them work. Learned first hand from my Father. Breakfast and supper looked wonderful. Take care and have a blessed evening. ❤️🍀
Such a wonderful Video! Loved everything about it including all the Christmas fixings, and that corn bread and beans. Tipper, if you were selling corn bread I’d pay the shipping cots!
Just wanted to let you know what a joy watching your videos have been in our life. I feel like I know you and your wonderful girls. Your family is a true blessing.
3.18 damn I'd love to be there right now! I'm going up to the Scottish Highlands on Thursday to visit my memaw (I live in Edinburgh, the capital of rainy-ass Scotland lol) she lives in the middle of nowhere, I love it up there, I'd love to move back up to be out in the country, but it's FREEZING at the top of Scotland, I can't handle the kinda cold they get up there, edinburgh is more than freezing enough for me 🤣
Awesome. Thanks you for that beautiful gift. ya'll sound great. Staying warm, healthy and strong playing with the fire wood. It always burns twice. Once when ya cut and split it and again in the stove. God bless ya'll. 🇺🇸 God bless America 🇺🇸
Beautiful rocks, my father in law collected rocks, I remember he made a trip to somewhere I think in N. Carolina to look for them. He also made jewelry from them. He made each of us girls some. God bless.
Some of my Favorite videos are these about y’all’s life in Appalachia! Loved all of it but the part where y’all were splittin the wood and where that guy brought that big dump truck load of wood for y’all, that was a lot of wood. 👍🏻👍🏻 And of course the food the cooking & y’all playing and singing together in your kitchen!! 😇🙏🏻
How I would have wished for a log splitter, as even when I was pregnant, had to split logs by hand to make sure we could heat the house during the winters in the North, and it took a few months to make sure we had enough to get through all the cold months. It is cool how you show that not everyone can just turn a dial on a thermostat for heat. (Which I love now, no cleaning out the ashes, worrying about the Flue or Creosote buildup in the Chimney!)
I'm 55 and one thing I have learned about life is enjoy every moment you have because once that moment is gone, you will not get it back.
I really like these, it’s like hanging out at a neighbors house. Decorated beautifully, 6 days and counting🕊🎅🏼🕊

Love that sizzle too 😀 Good luck with the playing-it's so much fun 😀 Merry Christmas!
Loved this so much! Beans and cornbread amazing. Takes me back.🥰God Bless y’all and have a Merry Christmas!
Nice paintings and really nice Christmas decor…love it all!!!
Looks like I'll be going to bed hungry tonight. Oh, I had supper. But then I saw that plate of cabbage, and ham 'n beans, and cornbread. I swear I could smell it. Love your videos.
😀
Yay! My favorite series on your channel, though the mountain path readings are a very close 2nd. 🎄
Glad you like them! Thank you 😀
Beautiful Tree you have. I especially love the antlers as a tree topper.
In a time of personal need for comfort.....this video took my depressions away and gave peace......thank you all..............
I'm so glad you enjoyed it Diane 😀
That ham made me hungry. I'm gonna get me some and cook it for breakfast. With scramble eggs. And cheese. And maybe some streek gravey. I think hobbies are good for a person I like wood carving. That's one my hobbies. It gives me Somthing to do and keeps my mind off of bad thoughts. And boredom. Hey like always I enjoy seeing what y'all do thanks for sharing. God bless and take care ,,,
Thank you Duane! Wood carving is a great hobby 😀
What a beautiful life you have! You so deserve it! Be blessed 🌿
I believe you have captured the very essence of Christmas.
Good food
Good song.
Simple decorative touch to bring on the festive season.❤️🙏
So many subjects covered, my favorite videos.
We are deep in storm clean up mode after baseball sized hail over the weekend. I watched your videos last night to try to take my mind off of our busy week ahead and they were just what the Dr. ordered. Thank you for taking the time to make the videos!
Sorry to hear about the storm!
@@CelebratingAppalachia Thank you!
Tipper, now I'm hungry after all the cooking. Ya'll made my day.
Merry Christmas.
Another great video. Love the idea of the little trees. Also about the trailer hitch I know all about Jimmy Riggen things to make them work. Learned first hand from my Father. Breakfast and supper looked wonderful. Take care and have a blessed evening. ❤️🍀
I love the picture with snow on it
Love the rocks, they were beautiful. Then you made me hungry lol. And that last number just topped it all off, sound really great! 😃
Such a wonderful Video! Loved everything about it including all the Christmas fixings, and that corn bread and beans. Tipper, if you were selling corn bread I’d pay the shipping cots!
😀
Just wanted to let you know what a joy watching your videos have been in our life. I feel like I know you and your wonderful girls. Your family is a true blessing.
Thank you so much!
3.18 damn I'd love to be there right now!
I'm going up to the Scottish Highlands on Thursday to visit my memaw (I live in Edinburgh, the capital of rainy-ass Scotland lol) she lives in the middle of nowhere, I love it up there, I'd love to move back up to be out in the country, but it's FREEZING at the top of Scotland, I can't handle the kinda cold they get up there, edinburgh is more than freezing enough for me 🤣
A good life indeed. Beautiful!
Awesome. Thanks you for that beautiful gift. ya'll sound great. Staying warm, healthy and strong playing with the fire wood. It always burns twice. Once when ya cut and split it and again in the stove. God bless ya'll. 🇺🇸 God bless America 🇺🇸
Thank you for sharing a look at life in Appalachia. Loved the music it reminds me of gatherings at my grandparents.
Beautiful rocks, my father in law collected rocks, I remember he made a trip to somewhere I think in N. Carolina to look for them. He also made jewelry from them. He made each of us girls some. God bless.
Woah! That picking sounds good! 👍. Brings back memories of get togethers with my grandmas family. 🙂
Thank you Pastor Lon!!
Gotta trick for cookin' flapjacks. Watch the topside of the pancake bubble. When the bubbles stop popping and reforming time to turn it.
Great video. Katie’s knowledge of rocks is fascinating! 😊🇨🇦
