I've heard you remark about all the blessings in your life and your gratitude. The thing that comes to my mind while watching this video is the resourcefulness of your family, the steady rhythm of the lives you live. And just like your music, in harmony with nature, the seasons and one another.

We moved from NC and WV nearly 50 years ago and this reminds us of what life was like there as you lived it. Beautiful, but after 40 years in Kalifornia as aerospace engineers now living in North Idaho, this brings tears to our eyes as we watch you living a dream.
I so admire and respect how much time y’all spend together. Without family, we have nothing.

Me too! I was born and raised in the Midwest, but my mom and grandparents were from the South. I never knew why we did certain things, but these videos explain it all to me. I love this family!
Tipper, this video is the essence of living in Appalachia. Cooking, eating, working outside, gardening, being with family and friends, watching the weather, enjoying the mountains and streams, making music, etc. It is what has made up my life and I love it. I could watch this video a hundred times (and I may do that). Thank you so very much!

I've enjoyed every one of these chapters. 2022 is going to be a doozy.
I am so thankful and so grateful that I found yours & the girls channels! Y'all have brought some feeling of normalcy into a not so normal world for me. I know my life will never be 'normal' due to chronic pain & illness but watching y'all brings back memories of my childhood & all mama & daddy did to provide for us. Until I was 39, I loved doing all the things like helping with canning, getting stuff from the garden & helping mama cook meals sometimes. I even helped daddy haul wood & went with him fishing & looking for places to deer hunt. I was married at 17, in my senior year of high school but daddy had me promise we'd stay with them til I graduated, which I did. We never lived far from my parents & even though they've been with the Lord in heaven for many years, I miss them & the way life used to be. Folks just don't realize how good & simple life was then. Makes me appreciate my Christian upbringing very much. Thank y'all so much & I'm looking forward to more good Southern Living! God bless y'all greatly in this new year! Hugs from VA!

Oh my goodness, y'all live in God's country it's just beautiful and the respect you have for the land is so apparent. So peaceful and natural living is how we should live. Caring about neighbors and helping those who need it. Thank goodness we still have some normal in our crazy world. I so love all that y'all share and I love your music and talents. Awsome food videos good simple healthy food like our ancestors had with a few updates. This is a fantastic video with an excellent soundtrack. The only thing missing was the heavenly smells from the kitchen. Antlers on the Christmas tree is something I haven't seen in decades. Loved it and thanks for sharing. Stay safe and God bless you all.

I have researched my family genealogy on both sides back to 1632 Massachusetts and 1680 Maryland and there were no mountain people in my tree…….so I can’t explain why this channel and blue grass music resonate so deeply with me, BUT THEY DO 🤔. Maybe in a previous incarnation 😂. Bless you for keeping this uniquely American culture, life skills and music alive for future generations. ❤️👍🏻❤️
Things we take for granted, the sound of thunderstorms and katydids in the evening. My son moved to the Pacific Northwest and misses these simple sounds of his childhood.

the sights and sounds of this year in appalachia video propels me back fifty years to my youth in the catskill mountains of new york, especially the sound of the rushing creek, the trees in their season and gravel roads. a simple and good time. i remember sewing buttons on my uncle's hunting jacket. i haven't thought of that in so many years until now. i only just found you in 2021 but i'm so glad i did. cheers to you all for a happy 2022.
I can only dream of living a life like yours!. My Daddy came from your area and then settled into Jackson Springs, NC. The food is what I remember coming home too.

Tipper, I so appreciate you taking time out to share this video with us, it brought me back to a place in my youth, before marriage and moving away from my family, that I only get to see on the holidays.
I love how your family have been able to stay together throughout their lives and grow at the same time. I have truly enjoyed your family, and how much your love you put in every thing you do to keep the ways of life in the Appalachian mountains, moving forward with today's world.

Tipper, I want you to know that this is one of the very best videos. And I honestly Envy every second, every minute, every day of your life. You are truly a blessed lady you have such a precious family. I'm 74 years old I have made a very different life and yet yearning for the kind of life that you have . I know that is have had your ups and downs just like everyone has. But you have stayed the course and have kept the faith and I do so admire you. You are the type of woman that this nation needs a lot more of. As I watch this video I can't help but cry realizing what I've missed. There were times in my childhood that I went to Del Rio and stayed with my aunt for the summer. My mother was from what they call the old 15th so that was very much in the country. In the mountains and I loved it up there. There is a lot to be said for that way of 5 life So Many foreigners coming in and the young people are selling their family's land off to these people that are changing the ways of the old ones. It's heartbreaking anyway I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you and your family. May God richly bless you.

Tipper, would you please give Paul a Wow! and a 👍 on what a terrific album he produced in WHEN IT ENDS IN A WALK? Getting every nuance of sound,, timbre, balance, drawing out The Best in every note of song as a producer engineer is so detailed (and I'll say it: tedious) and he did an excellent job. I've listened to the album over 15x this past week and laugh at GIVE THE DOG A BATH each time. These original songs are GOOD! ALL of you do so well individually and together, but Paul's pickin' and hard work on this album allows everyone to simply SHINE. Thanks for passing that on. AND SHINE ON, ALL OF YOU.

I miss my parents so much. From the hills of Tennessee. They broke the mold with their generation. Came out of the depression and knew how to survive off the land. Long for the day I will be reunited with them with the Lord! 💕✝️

I just loved this montage of a year in the life. You and your tight knit family are preserving your traditions for well into the future, and your lives are so rich with what you have. Many of your videos are a good stress relief and I can feel my blood pressure lower as I watch them. I especially enjoyed all the music you made here. I recently learned how to build guitars and ukuleles (mandolin and violin next?), and made 2 acoustic and 1 electric guitar and an electric bass, though I did not know how to play a single note. About a ye4ar ago, I started leaning the bass.
You keep creating content and I will continue to be entertained by it. Best wishes to you and yours for a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
I was originally from the northeast corner of Tennessee,up around Carter and Washington counties. These videos remind me so much of my life then.

As someone from the West Coast, LA born and raised this way of life and culture fascinates me.
I thought I saw cornbread dressing. I would love to have that recipe. Everything was lovely. Love this. Your videos remind me so much of my own family. They remind me of so many in my family that are with the Lord now.. that I miss with all my heart. The memories. And sadly there is just a few of us left in my family remembering our roots and passing the traditions on to our kids. I don't mean to comment so many times on your videos, but when I watch them... I love the night sounds in spring and summer!! Frogs,crickets, katydids,locusts! Love the smell also of spring, summer,fall,and the smell of the
woodsmoke from stoves!! That beautiful gurgling creek continuous!!
In the hustle bustle of today's world it does us good to watch your peaceful serene life filled with nature and music and love.
The sound of the running water of those brooks and streams almost makes me want to give up my coastal North Carolina home and move to the Great Smoky Mountains. If I live long enough, and my son and daughter-in-law are able to save enough money for it, they want to buy a good sized piece of property in the mountains near Asheville, NC and build a family homestead / compound, have a nice garden, etc.
On a side note: later this month my daughter-in-law is going to begin hiking the Appalachian Trail from beginning to end.
I'm so glad to have found your TH-cam channel. I love our home state of North Carolina-- thank you for showing everyone the beauty of the mountains; as well as how you and your family care about each other and work to have a good life.
