I loved this video. All y'all have such a wonderful life together. One particular scene really caught my eye. Tipper, it was when you looked up at Matt when he was sampling your kraut. You looked up at him with such a look of love and adoration, it melted my heart. You two really are such a loving couple. It is so obvious and quite a wonder to behold. May the Lord continue to bless y'all. Thanks for sharing with us glimpses of your remarkable life in Appalachia.

Watching you snap green beans took me back to when I was a kid, my granny Haley would send me out to the garden and pick a bucket full then she would wash them off and start snapping them (I can still smell them fresh beans)and as she did she would tell me stories about when she was a little girl. I could sit and listen to her stories all day.

You guys should do a video with on creek sounds and video. Those videos do REALLY WELL on TH-cam. They usually run 8 - 10 hours. To do that you need to "loop it". Play the same video over and over. People love it. Thunderstorms and heavy rain popular as well.

I enjoy it so much when you identify trees and plants that grow near your home. You've taught me some that I didn't know. I enjoyed watching you braid Corie's hair Tipper. I saw some other comments here of others who were reminded of their Moms doing their hair. My Mom used to tightly pin curl my hair every night because my hair is straight as a poker and she was always trying to give me curls like the other girls in my class. Never worked, the curls might stay for a couple hours then gradually my hair just went back to it's poker straight state. I thought you all sounded great at the music festival. Happy belated birthday Cori and Katie! 🎂🎁🎈

You had me at the sounds of darkness, almost tasting the kraut myself from old memories, being in the woods, the flowers, the good foods and sharing it with parent(s), great music, Matt and his trusty sharp knives, memories of braiding my daughter's hair, too, etc. and ending with the lovely night sights and sounds! Probably will have to force myself to watch one more time another day! Thank you, Pressley's.

My dad was dutch and he couldn't stand sauerkraut from the store here - - - he said they fermented it with butter milk where he grew up, I make it with lots of heads of green cabbage and one purple cabbage so it turns out pink, I put green peppers, fennel, and fresh dill then add Kiefer that I make from my goats milk to ferment it -it takes 3 to 5 days, my favorite,. Your food looks really yummy and pretty to boot/I learn stuff watching you in your garden, I love it that you grow sugar baby melons, when I was a teen I grew all the Mellons for my family and sugar babies where my favorite, that dolls eye grows here but some times its a pretty pink color!

Love watching the way y'all live!!! My momma in law made her kraut in a stone crock and she would put a rock on top of a piece of wood over the the top of the crock and when the rock rolled off the Kraut was made. And it would be sour enough to make a pig pucker. Keep them videos coming they're my escape the world.

The algorithm brought me here and the content and memories it invoked kept me watching. Both sides of my family are from Appalachia. One side from the mountains of southwestern Virginia and the other form the hills of upper east Tennessee. Plenty of coal miners, moonshiners, and good cooks on both sides. Hard working, honest, and God fearing salt of the earth folks. I have so many memories from my childhood of going to visit folks up in the "hollers". Good food, good conversation, hunting, fishing, foraging, farming, etc etc. I could tell stories for days about their struggles and experiences.

The hearts-a-busting Katie is showing is what we used to call iron wood. The stem is very hard to cut and almost impossible to break. Try it!
My vacuum bag kraut turned out fine. It is milder in flavor but a little too salty for me so I rinse it in a sieve. Last night I fried up some Polish sausage and then added some of the kraut and let it stream for a few minutes. Man, that is some good eating! The only thing missing was cornbread. I have some I had made several days ago that I thought would be good but It has started growing mold. You can't win 'em all!
The quiet night sounds, free from civilization's noise, are your most valuable asset. The sounds of waters tumbling over moss carpeted rocks are worth more than all the gold in the world and God gave them to us for free.

Love the videos that first Berry the strawberry thing don't think I ever saw that before but the other ones I have I don't think we have any right around our house but where I grew up I think we did Grandma was the Grand Cherry Queen I think she and I were the only ones that like them she used to make at least a grand cherry pie every year and I think she made jelly or jam. Couldn't figure out what you were making right at the beginning and then when you added to Cocoa why new right away. Sweet gum balls are said to be in a viral I've been trying to look around here for some haven't been able to find them oh I wish you could send me one of them saplings. Thought there used to be one in the neighborhood but sure can't find it now. Love the instructions on the fermenting especially the corn never did or really heard of that before may have to try that next year. Wonderful relaxing video love and God bless take care

I’ve just found your channel today, and I love your videos! They remind me of when I was a little girl living in West Texas. Makes me miss shelling peas, making pies, or canning veggies with my Mimi. She’s still with us. I’ve just moved away and now only get to do things like this when I go home for the holidays.
Thank you for making this channel. It brings back peaceful memories from childhood 🥰

I am finally going to send this. I hope! Tipper, I am an old man now 76 yrs . I hope I do not say anything out of the way. You remind me of my mother when I was a young boy. She was Irish. Murphy was the blood line. She was born and raised in Vaucluse, South Carolina. Every thing you do and say including the accent, is really a reminder or her. I love your family. You do a great thing on here with your cooking and everything about family. Hell, I know you wont like that, I never knew what good cornbread was till I saw you make it. THANK YOU. T Corie n Katie Tom Hutto said hey!

Dusty was in your area today but he's back home now. He brought back a souvenir. A speeding ticket! 75 in a 60 between Marble and Andrews.

Your ground cherries look like what we call Cape Gooseberries. They look and sound the same. Love eating them straight from the garden. I remember as a child sneaking over to a neighbours and gorging myself on them . yes. Once you plant you will always have them.

Fermenting is just so easy! Water, plain salt, a clean jar or crock and a couple weeks time! It is great for the health, making vitamins, etc. great for the guts and immune system. We keep ours in the fridge, kraut, dill pickles, fermented veg like squash, peppers, onions, carrots all great tasting like home made pickles! I have large pickle jars (3 qt) saved from store bought pickles years ago. They fit great in the fridge without taking a huge amount of room. When I begin to get them empty, I transfer to quart jars and start out next batch fermenting so I never run out.
