Wrong, there were plenty of ppl screaming at the time this was the wrong idea, and the same with his immigration policies

It never made any sense to shore up the Communist Chinese party. I believe the false assumption was that the Soviet Communists had propped up the rest of the world's communists so when the USSR fell, that the CCP would fall also, which obviously didn't happen

The leaders in the west make all sorts of philosophical arguments, but it always comes down to money. Western corporations saw China, and ofshoring in general as a great money maker so that's what our "leaders" did.
No one considered the long term consequences.

He's a right-wing plant interviewer. Look at all his guests, and the questions he asks. The moment he asks a tough question, is the very moment he stops getting these interviews.
Think how difficult it must be for an ordinary start-up journalist to get these interviews... and there's your answer. Go figure.
PS. Lex Friedman falls under the same basket. Joe Rogan is the OG who did it all from the ground up, but now he's so big. And he's interviewing left, right and centre because he's so much in demand and raking in so much cash.

Why only Iraq, @BallyBoy? How about Afghanistan, Syria, Libya? and what were the roles of your F British EMPIRE, serving as a puppet to the US imperialist, in the Ukraine war? did your intelligence service orchestrate and support the 2014 coup?
Joe Rogan, like Tucker Carlson, has had people like Green Greenwald, Jimmy Dore, etc. on his show several times. people who always challenge the establishment's narratives on Syria, Afghanistan, Libya, Israel, Ukraine, etc. These people are the real left, not the NEO LEFT, the pro war, pro regime change as the NEO LEFTs are.

Finally, someone on this channel who doesn't reek of Sinophobia. China has opposing views from the West, but they're not monsters. They've freaking lifted some 800 million people out of extreme poverty in the last half century. They're 17% of the global population.
Yes, there are many things wrong with China, like how there are many things wrong with Western countries. The Chinese are people like the rest of us and deserve to be part of the world and have input on global matters.

Wrong answer. The West peddled their democratic and economic values for access to Chinese markets and labour. There's still some hangover from that in the way they mollycoddle newer non-liberal regimes like India. They should instead focus on building strong domestic economies and exporting high quality, higher technology products to the rest of the world. The rest of the world should be primarily used for sourcing raw materials and human and intellectual resources as needed.

I feel like that when lky changed our 😮mother tongue to English it was a good choice and at the same time a really bad choice too as we have certainly lost our mother tongue plus our ethnicity/ culture and forced to learn British/ American language which it isn't our native language our native language are Cantonese/hainanese/hokkien/ teochew and Chinese etc we all have lost that touch to our own cultures. Ever since then Singapore isnt really Singapore anymore.
We don't even know how to speak Chinese or even matter if fact speak proper English our schools aren't as world class as it seems we got the other end of the stick while the rich people get ( better teachers and better education for q very high price point) we keep mixing English Chinese and hokkien or English and malay or English and hindu etc basically singenglish which i doubt thats what lky wanted tbh.
We all are bloody stressed and money driven to be very frank because our starting salary isn't high ($2-5k) after college which includes the cpf that our government takes from us to use for housing and medical and other stuff but whatever is in the cpf cant be used at all not even when ur retired and old unless ur died or move to a different country then yes all could be taken out.
Even with 1 million can't survive in this country tbh all the bills will suck you dry up!
HDB/ BTO "supposed" to be cheap for Singaporeans if actually anyone looked up average price is $400k -$1 2 million depending on how many rooms and location too theres one room as either bomb shelter/ study room/ Storage room bedrooms are 3-5 rooms which includes the stuff i just said you can't rent your house for 5 -10 years out at all. Don't forget all the loans mortgages house bills you gotta pay for. Its really not Worth it staying here unless you're an expat then yeah go ahead sure.
We aren't crazy rich Asians at all. We are very poor actually.
