It look's out of balance...Have you tried the little end? also are there counter balance weights bolted to the crankweb's or to the flywheels...a small amount of weight would make a big difference at speed..good luck.
1. They really don't like to go faster than 650 RPM 2 They REALLY aren't meant to be cushion mounted but mounted SOLID to the earth. Bolt that thing down tight to a slab of concrete that weighs TWICE as much as the total engine + generator weight. My guess is you have harmonics that are screwing up the governor......
there could be a fuel line kink or blockage when that happens, some fuel gets through but after time it runs out so you have to wait for more to gett through. take off the fuel lines and try them. May work
Angus Hudson I know this is years ago however I had to change the original fuel lines on my 12/2 jkson listeroid. My setup will run smooth enough to have a glass of water on the tappet cover without splashing and crank starts with7 to 9 rev.
Yep, like Francovance said, it looks like the engine is out of balance. I've heard that sometimes the builders of the engines get things mixed up - like improperly mounted flywheels. Check utterpower for more information.
I commented on your other vid too, Looks like you have the setup CMD sells. I would definately check the gib keys. The flywheel is not able to absorb the power pulse when it's not locked solid to the crank.
I got a Lister VA witch is all most the same as the CS or the something you got there my Lister runs at 850 on the engine and on the gen is 1800 rpm if i push my engine to 1000 rpm it does the something as that one but at 850 rpm its smooth and my is made back in 1967.
@pajero242 ya turn down the idle hes right also it could just be lack of fuel ad an external pump if nothing else works or try for warenty but thered be a reason why your trying to fix

it sounds like it tries to overspeed before it shuts itself off! is the governor alright?

I agree. She's running way to fast. I have a genuine lister cs 6/1 and she's rated for 650rpm. Even if I rev her to hard she has a tend to jump around
it shakes way to much. bolt it down and make sure everything is tight on it.
i wish i could look at it. great machine.

I hear you changed oil and fuel. Did you change fuel filter?
Looks like something has come loose with the way its mounted
Check vent hole in filler cap!
did you use discount or collored diesel like any not premum grade fuel
