Many thanks for another pleasant and peaceful cruise with the usual air support to keep those pesky kids in order, I think they call it 'collateral damage'.
Good afternoon Phil, thank you for another nice video. Considering the state of the windows in that factory/mill, which i'd take as an indication of the after dark preoccupations of the local 'yoofs', I was surprised by the lack of tagging on the bridge just prior to the lock. As you say though, not somewhere that'd be conducive to a relaxed and worry free mooring. Safe travels.
The old derelict factory that you passed was the last working hat factory in Atherstone (it had several) - it was the Britannia Works and is a listed building for which there have been plans to convert it into apartments but sadly nothing has happened yet. Atherstone is my second home as my Son and his family moved there to escape Birmingham. I'm regularly on Grandad duty and can be found quite often in the sweetshop accompanied by my wide eyed granddaughter .
My first thought on getting notification was what could a science-fiction/fantasy writer do with the concept if spelling were minimally altered to Aetherstone; especially since aether and stone would seem to be contradictory concepts.
Just wondering why you are 2 months behind with your uploads? Missing out the lock flight would be no big deal. As it seems like every narrowboat channel has filmed it in the last month.
I'm so far behind because each cruising video takes the best part of a days work to make, render, and upload. And since I am travelling nearly every day as well there is a huge backlog of video...
Ahh this was filmed or posted on my birthday albeit 3yrs ago...still. It's a lovely one....!...😃

I really like the style of your videos. Keep' em coming! Great job
The music and views makes me so home sick, still a beautiful video. Thank you Phil
Lovely scenery and lovely music - thank you
We moored right opposite the hat factory last August for 2 nights. Lovely quiet mooring, no problems at all. Great video!

I've a feeling it was like that when I last boated through there 20 years ago?
Narrowboat Journeys - nothing happens overnight in Atherstone 😊
If your doing the Atherstone flight may the force be with you. The locks empty and the gates open for you.
Bit of silly comment now I know your 2 months behind up loading.
If you only cruised a mile a day your 60 miles away from said location.
I've just noticed...the Murgons only seem to appear when your music is playing...coincidence? :)
Yes, the main thing needed is a patch of clear sky with not too many trees in the way.

The question is - why would illegal aliens want to visit Atherstone? (7:07) The answer is probably 42 !!!
What's the deal with the flying saucer at 7:08?
