I often wonder how top level investors are able to become millionaires off investing. . I’ve been sitting on over $545K equity from a home sale and I’m not sure where to go from here, is it a good time to buy into stocks or do I wait for another opportunity?

Yes, a good number of folks are raking in huge 6 figure gains in this downtrend, but such strategies are mostly successfully executed by folks with in depth market knowledge

I agree. Based on personal experience working with an investment advlsor, I currently have $985k in a well-diversified portfollo that has experienced exponential growth. It's not only about having money to invest in st0cks, but you also need to be knowledgeable.

We live in a backwards world. Love this guy and what did he say? The market will be down 12%, higher interest rates coming due to spending, higher taxes needed to address the deficit and what happens? The market goes up today? This is f'd. When the drop comes, it's going to be hard and fast !!!!!!

With inflation running at a four-decade high, the Recession is now the ‘most likely outcome for the economy and I cannot imagine being a victim of circumstances. My portfolio suffered a big hit, holding it further won’t be any good. I've heard of people netting hundreds of thousands this red season. How can I ensure this?

The uncertainties accompanying this present market is more reasons I have my daily investment decisions guided by a portfolio-coach seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time, both employing profit-oriented strategy and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downtrends, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis, it's quite impossible not to outperform. Netted over $800k in return on investment, since using a coach for about a year.

Its best to be careful at this time. What will happen to the economy and markets remains a mystery. There seems to be more negative portfolios this 2nd half of 2023 with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. My concern is how can the rapid interest-rate hike be of favor to a value investor, or is it better avoiding stocks for a while?

    • @tommyers0
      @tommyers0 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

Just ''buy the dip'' man. In the long term it will payoff. High interest rates usually mean lower stock prices, however investors should be cautious of the bull run, its best you connect with a well-qualified adviser to meet your growth goals and avoid blunder

In my opinion, I'd say just buy and hold; or hire a pro for better guidance. I started investing in stocks before the pandemic and that same year I pulled a profit of about $920k with no prior investing experience, basically all I was doing was seeking guidance from a financial-advisorr. You can be passively involved with the aid of a professional.

How can the rapid interest-rate hike be of favor to a value investor? The same as the GFC. Sit on the sidelines in CDs, short term Treasuries or ETFs such as TFLO. Allow the recession to happen. Allow stocks to crash. Allow investors to panic sell. Then scoop up the bargains.

I always loved PTJ since reading about him in Market Wizards, but he has pretty much been dead wrong with regards to Market prognostications forever at least in public. Whether the US pays higher interest rates or higher taxes, the results are the same, we need allocate more of our productive output to paying back past borrowings. I prefer paying higher interest rates to the private market, and punishing government spending, then simply giving the government more money to squander. That is probably wants going to happen, like it did in the 1970s. The good thing is Baby Boomers have way to much savings relative to their capacity to spend, and that money is going to be plowed back into the treasuries lowering our effective cost to borrow again. So I am actually a little more optimistic than PTJ. I wouldn't be suprised if the US Economy plows right through any recession risks in the 1st quarter. SInce the government continues to deficit spend, and there is no signs of slowing.

For me its really simple. Money is work tokens. Bonds are loans. A loan is a promise to consume more than we have already worked for now, in return for a promise to work more in the future. Who thinks the American voters are ever going to vote to work more and consume less in the future than they do now. To keep this promise. For as long as the answer to this question is "never" is how long bonds have been a ponzi scheme. The fact that Greece or Italy is in a worse state doesn't change this.

The FED knows. They aren't committed to attacking inflation. They are going to continue to inflate, stocks and commodities will continue to go up with everything else. You can't just sit on cash waiting for a crash, get your money working for you, start buying in slowly and then gradually increase the pace of buying as the prices continue to drop.

For first-time investors, it cannot be stressed enough how important it is to invest hard-earned money in the stock market rather than a bank where interest is guaranteed! The market appears out of control, the times are unpredictable, and the banks are deteriorating. Could there be a chance for a boomer like me? I'm working on a rough estimate of $5M for retirement, and I have a healthy six figures saved up for this. I'm almost 60.

It's best to seek an advisor right now, unless you're canny yourself. As a business owner in both the service industry and eBay reseller of all product categories, I can tell you we’re in a deep recession and everyone is running out of money.

Very true, people downplay advisors role, until burnt by their mistakes. I remember just after my layoff early 2020 amidst covid outbreak, I needed to stay afloat, hence researched for license advisors. Thankfully, I came across someone of practical knowledge, and decades of experience, my stagnant reserve of $325K has yielded nearly $1m after subsequent investments so far.

It’s really going to come down to is the fed going to intervene via yield curve control and fund this deficit he is talking about with money printed out of thin air (you’ll get the kind of inflation that will make this last 2 years inflation look like picnic) or they do the right thing and do what he’s suggesting (raise taxes and reform social security). My bet is unfortunately they will do the former and that’s the kind of action that has brought down all previous superpowers to their knees.

The problem with fiscal deficits didn’t start with Trump. It’s been going on since Reagan. Obama doubled the debt. But agree that the system is completely out of control.

If the government deals with the debt by printing more money, that will cause more inflation. Stocks with real assets, and pricing power, will probably do just fine. Exxon, for example, just to name one.

Was the Pandemic created to delay economic effects till the US could find more economic support for the ability to exploit other Nations?
Could the US Foreign Policy be written by Wall Street,
    delivered by Victoria Nuland,
and enacted to enhance profits for a small number of Investors?
We did have a revolution to remove that form of control by a
small number of Humans at one time.

So just spend like you have no accountability and then call for more tax increases when times get tight. Call those people who never wanted the spending and never wanted the tax increases irresponsible for not wanting to pay higher taxes. That’s absurd. Cut spending period. Nobody who has ran an honest business owes the government anymore than they are paying.
