As long as they provide a decent product so that nobody feels too ripped-off. Mr. Wong, I have been skipping your loo tours recently despite the endlessly fascinating coat hooks, I am getting very old so need to monitor my use of time more carefully.

5:48 you got a 5J A330-300 bound to MNL from HKG. My most Travelled route on the Cathay Pacific network is HKG-MNL which turns out to be the first route of the airline using the DC-3 PBY Catalina that one has to use Manila bay from HKG Kai Tak airport. Another route that the B777-300/er is used on is HKG-PER or HKG-MNL to compete with the 5J & PR planes. For Pier lounge was it renovated recently or still uses the 2005-2006 set up
Always enjoy your videos, you always try to have fun, everywhere you travel, so envious! We wait for the notorious spotting of the "coat hook", so funny! Have been trying to identify your wristwatch though, looks like it could be a Swatch but can't find it on the Swatch website, so Mr. Jayden Wong, you must be famous when your fans want to know whose watch you wear lol! Happy travels!
Hello! Thanks for the informational video, much appreciated. I wondered if you knew what type of plug is used on the power-sockets beneath the seat that you highlight? It's my first time flying Cathay in a few weeks so want to make sure I have the right adapter for it if needed. Sadly their website isn't too helpful regarding this. Thank You.
Deja vu @ 0:36. Didn't you ride on a luggage cart down that airport path years ago? I found your videos years ago because I was searching for Cathay business class flight trip reports and videos on their Hong Kong lounges. Your videos stood out because they were very well made and detailed. And thank you for the Hilton Osaka room tour. I hope you'll upload videos of your walk around Osaka and the food you eat. 👍🙂
Great trip report as always. Do you film the whole flight experience using only one single phone? Did you use the wide angle lens while filming? I'm so surprised to see that Cathay's configuration is in 3-4-3 as I always thought they had the seats in 3-3-3. Hopefully to see Discovery (inflight magazine) come back in the seat pocket.
Interesting that while the economy seats were retrofitted with the same ones used on the A350, premium economy was unchanged. I'm intrigued to fly in a 3-4-3 777, to see if it's as bad as the internet makes it out to be. I'm a small-sized guy so I should be okay. Wonderful that we are able to return to Japan after so long. I'm going twice this year, can't wait to go "home"!
The older economy (still seen on their 330) wasn't that old. I recently flew Delta A330neo and that seats look as 'old' as the Cathay 330 LOL. I think they only renovated it so they could add an extra seat per row.
Hey Jayden that cabin looks tight with 3-4-3. You should watch pillow given out without plastic wrapping. I think the airline used the pillows and blankets if they are not wrapped. How much you rate this flights.
I love your trip-reports! Yeah, it's really expensive to fly to Japan. Manila to Tokyo or Osaka, is around $700+ on Philippine Airlines, ANA or Japan Airlines. During peak season, it can reach $1,000 just for economy! It's like finding a good deal or booking early on a flight to Europe via the middle east.
thanks for watching! Osaka doesn't get much competition compared to Seoul and Tokyo and I guess that's why Cathay's Seoul flights for example, very cheap at the moment despite similar flight duration. They're competing with Asiana, Korean Air (which sometimes fly the A380) and HK Airlines

Love your videos! Since you know a lot about Hongkong, I'm flying with Swiss from there soon and I have Star Alliance Gold. Do you know which lounge or lounges I will be invited to since most are still closed?
Tbh a 3-4-3 config in a 777 is one of those configs I hate the most lol, alongside a 3-3-3 in an A330. I'd rather see Cathay pulling a 3-3-3 instead as it gives more seat width. Or perhaps, they can revive their 2-5-2 config like what they did to their older 777s in the 1990s and 2000s? Nice vid as always!
I agree and here's the problem with 2-5-2 B777-200 economy you do not have a screen in front of you instead you must stand up did this once on CX904 MNL-HKG September 2001
wow they gave hazagen daz once cream. Which food from Japan do you recommend. I hate sushi. Where did you stay in Japan? Is cost of living higher there than in Hong zkong
Hi Jayden, im flying to London soon through cathay. Im flying economy through 777-300ER, but now im wondering if i should have booked in a350-900 instead? 🤔 in terms of seat comfort, which one’s better?
350 is newer and quieter but personally I prefer the older 777 premium. More feet space after reclining. And for noise, just put on noise cancelling headphones😝
@@JaydenWong great! Haha im not easily distracted by the noise but i would like to have the legroom and more comfortable seats. Haha i managed to get the extra legroom seats in row 40 😝
@@JaydenWong thanks. So for thr wing first class lounge also business classpaseenger can join? I will be goinh to the wing first lounge in March hope it will not be crowded😂😂😂
Uncle Roger: can't eat spicy? too weak! too weak! (I am weak). Jayden it would be really appreciated if you could make an update video on Cathay's premium economy for A350 or B777-300. I tried to search the channel but the most recent one you made was 3 years ago. Especially when you fly Cathay between HKG and MEL or SYD. Hope Cathay remains a good quality of service after Covid.
@@JaydenWong Sounds perfect. It would be great if you could just talk a bit about whether 900 and 1000 would differ a lot as both planes are serving this route. I am flying to mainland China with 2.5hr stopover in HK two months later. Your channel and videos do help a lot of people like me! Thanks and much appreciated.
If you have free time to fly one more Cathay Pacific flight from Hong Kong to Ho Chi Minh City, then you can try to fly Vietnam's low-cost carrier, Vietjet Air, which uses Airbus A330-300 with seats. Skyboss business class, and can fly domestically and internationally.
@@JaydenWong I heard that Vietjet Air opens a route to Australia until April, but you can experience domestic flights with Vietjet Air, which also flies Airbus A330-300 to Hanoi.
I prefer no frills airlines.u order the food u want. No waste of food.no want eat ,no have. How many food is trash on all airlines around the world in one day.So better pre order even on premium airlines
I don't really see the difference between the 350 and the 777 in economy. Almost looks the same in any aspect(well, probably others would disagree) But well, exelent video!
seatback is very similar on the 777-300ER and A350-1000 :) A350-900 is completely different. B777-300 non-ER has older screen (can’t adjust). Only A350-1000 and the older A330 have double seat back padding (more comfortable)
they haven't! They're just running out of staff so they're focusing on major cities first. If you look at their current network, they have yet to relaunch flights to non-major cities like Seattle, Adelaide, Cape Town, Christchurch, and even London Gatwick
@@JaydenWong the new legrests look as thought they were installed by somneone's mate down the road with the exposed screws etc. And the screendesperately need an upgrade.

Nice vid as always!
haha don’t think they will go back to 8-abreast when their 777 flights to Australia and UK are more often than not full.
@@JaydenWong : 9-abreast. 8 is 2-4-2. 3-4-3 is 10-abreast.
That is what I don’t like when CX introduced 10 abreast in 2018, though the new Y seat is comfortable but 9 abreast could give better seat width.
I agree and here's the problem with 2-5-2 B777-200 economy you do not have a screen in front of you instead you must stand up did this once on CX904 MNL-HKG September 2001
Good video! My Dream is Flight to Asia. ✈️
thanks for watching! :)
Hi Jayden, could you try Taipei's EVA air too? I haven't seen any latest reviews about EVA air recently on TH-cam haha
hopefully soon! I do want to try them out soon
Now HKG Terminal 1's Prenetics PCR testing room has been closed permanently yesterday.
Sayonara😁😁😁
@@JaydenWong See HKG in July 3rd with CX382.
wow they gave hazagen daz once cream. Which food from Japan do you recommend. I hate sushi. Where did you stay in Japan? Is cost of living higher there than in Hong zkong
cost of living in HK is definitely higher. HK is top 5 if not number 1!
Ramen, udon, omakese ?
I really want to see your reviews on Hong Kong Express
At 7:44 you said boarding during the take off 😅
wopps!
Whenever your experiencing a headache than you should drink alot of water with eat Tylenol or Advil should help you with expriencing headaches!.
I was probably overdosed with pills already haha. I went to a GP in Melbourne and the doc said it was some 'leftover covid' in my sinuses
iam jelous to sick to travel i miss it
nice video bro. Are mobile boading passes allow in Hongkong or is it required to collect the boarding pass at the check in counter? thx
It’s allowed as long as the airline issues them!
@@JaydenWong thanks. So for thr wing first class lounge also business classpaseenger can join? I will be goinh to the wing first lounge in March hope it will not be crowded😂😂😂
@@mattiaseghezzi3890 at the moment yes! But that could change very very soon
I am weak 😩I just flew HK to Mel in 350-1000 premium couple of weeks ago, a video will follow very soon!!
Thanks and much appreciated.
did you get free headphone for Cathay economy class?
Yes everyone gets one but not noise cancelling
Very Cute Boy 😊
thanks!
For their price this seems like a typical low carrier airline minus the meals option .. the leg room is so small and it's too crowded
How crowded are flights nowadays? I heard that in economy some flights are super crowded, whereas others are almost empty.
it really depends when and where you are going haha. I had empty and full flights in the past week in Australia
If you get one world elite it doesn't give you upgrade or anything?
nope only works like that in america
If you have free time to fly one more Cathay Pacific flight from Hong Kong to Ho Chi Minh City, then you can try to fly Vietnam's low-cost carrier, Vietjet Air, which uses Airbus A330-300 with seats. Skyboss business class, and can fly domestically and internationally.
I will when Vietjet comes to Australia which is very soon!
How many food is trash on all airlines around the world in one day.So better pre order even on premium airlines
sounds like a Australian Pilot
yep I think he’s an Aussie
Hey Jayden could you please do a flight review from either Perth to Dubai via Emirates or do Qatar from Adelaide to Doha
one day! I have singapore-melbourne on emirates soon.
Hey Jayden guess what I saw my house from ur takeoff lol i live really close to the hong kong airport
nice!
9:23 I'm glad Cathay Pacific offers pork.
I don't really see the difference between the 350 and the 777 in economy. Almost looks the same in any aspect(well, probably others would disagree) But well, exelent video!
seatback is very similar on the 777-300ER and A350-1000 :)
A350-900 is completely different. B777-300 non-ER has older screen (can’t adjust).
Only A350-1000 and the older A330 have double seat back padding (more comfortable)
I love Cathay Pacific but such a pity they have given up on Adelaide.
they haven't! They're just running out of staff so they're focusing on major cities first. If you look at their current network, they have yet to relaunch flights to non-major cities like Seattle, Adelaide, Cape Town, Christchurch, and even London Gatwick
Cathay economy looks better than PE, even at 3-4-3. PE on the 359/K is much better. But overall a nice looking regional experience.
haha they did not retrofit the premium on their 777 that's why. Some got new TV screens and legrest though.
PE on 359/K is much better than those old 777!
@@JaydenWong the new legrests look as thought they were installed by somneone's mate down the road with the exposed screws etc. And the screendesperately need an upgrade.
@@kaychan7046 absolutely, even though the seat is slightly narrower.
Hey! What was the plant based choice 😅…so much for veganisms 😋
HAHAHHAA wait for the videos from March onwards😂😂😂
That is not how you eat soba 😂
You’re not supposed to pour sauce all over it. Try dipping the noodles into the sauce then slurp it up next time. I’m glad your headache didn’t stop you from traveling 😊
oh no 🤣 whoopsie ain't no salad sauce I suppose.
You confused me, one video I watched you were flying from Australia to Hong Kong you were saying you were vegetarian, this one you just ate pork. Glad you made it over COVID, happy coat hook hunting. 😊
Aha I was not a vegan yet when I took this flight. Also sometimes when I travel I break my diet because the airlines either don’t feed me enough vegan food or they don’t cater for it.
Thanks for watching!!
Hi Jayden! May I use your part 04:08-04:34 in my report from Dubai to Hk? My channels are on bilibili and youtube, and i will be put your channel's name in the discriptions. Thank You
sure, thanks for asking!
7:40 Takeoff not boarding
whoopsie
Well done having flown Kai Tak Swissair DC10-30ER inbound and outbound on Cathay Pacific Boeing 747-200 classic celery stick colours had door 3 blocked port and starboard and added 12 economy seats. I noted this so much January 1986 not happy Jan. Only 8 exit 747 not original 10 doors available for exit. Is what is was at the time not happy. CX delivered a service well not as great as Swissair DC 10 or A310-200 days. Quality not as to high standards of Swissair SR loved Swissair service well I am old school. Miss carbon tickets and hand written boarding pass. Service is important to me. Keep up with your good work.
Always watching.
Ansett 727.
I didn’t ever hear celery stick before but my favourite name for that livery is lettuce sandwich 😊
The Pilot Is Australian
yep a lot of cathay pilots are Aussies
wondering jayden's millage balance
running low honestly, redeemed a lot during covid hahaha
Can you fly to myanmar i am there too do let me know when you come to myanmar
Chúc mừng rất mừng.
Did the entire cabin crew wear latex gloves during the entire flight?
not sure haha, it's their personal choice, Some crew still wear eye goggles.
日本有核辐射的哦!
hi Jayden I noticed you got your face mask inside out😀😀😅
HAHAH I actually did it purposely, it was orange on the correct side😂😂😂 I preferred white
No wonder he got covid
Lol. I caught it in Australia
Aww Jayden can't eat spicy
Sounds like an Aussie pilot
yep! Cathay has a lot of Aussie pilots
Bad weather at Hong Kong😢I’m glad you are feeling better, Covid, be careful
Hi Jayden 👋
hello!
You're actually quite handsome
hahhaha thanks!
