I have that same slip-on on my 2018 R3 and it sound so much better in person. It actually makes a little backfire pop when you downshift or upshift aggressively. It's super awesome and more than what I expected. Oh and after using it for a few months, the heat from the exhaust gases "tempers" it over time turning the thin section of the pipe into a nice straw-golden color.

Ive got the akro slip-on and actually sound really good (for a smal displacement bike). Not too loud and improves the note. It sounds best when you give it the full beans. Full-system is completely redundant for a street R3 imo.
Yea full systems are big money and generally too loud, and there's no real performance gains on a small bike on the street without wasting even more money on a piggyback module and tune, although the weight savings are nice.

Just buy GSXR 600 and keep it in the gutless mode. It's like a 400cc power wide then but in a month when your like " yep this is slow " you'll be able to switch modes and have some fun. (BTW 2 weeks is not enough time to learn to ride but you get the idea) Some food for thought the price you pay for that brand new bike will net you a damn nice low ish km 600cc 2013 and up gsxr then you have the learning mode and the power mode and rain I believe. I just don't understand all these 300cc and 400cc bikes because they are cool they are great learning tools but after you learn and you've taken what you can do on that bike to its peak on the road which will happen within a few months then you have a bike with the next level built in. Just sayin. But the mt-03 looks cool as shit and all the power to ya. Also if your not a beginner and that's just what you want my apologies. Just what I tell my buddies to do when they look at jumping in the sport bike world.

Slip-ons just make the most sense for a beginner road bike, cheap, better sound depending what you buy and a moderate weight saving. Full systems are way more and really require a proper tune or piggyback module which is crazy money for bikes not putting out that much power to start with on the road, the only exception being bikes that have a one-piece exhaust system and can only take a full system.
@@sandesh9225 I've never had an issue to be honest, even when I had M4s on an FZ6 that set off car alarms (including in front of cops one day). But there's some luck involved there, and I'd guess if you're being a nuisance, they are more likely to find a reason to go after you. I've had a slip-on on almost every bike too, but apart from the M4s I normally don't pick the loudest options. I have heard of riders being pulled over and fined for totally stock systems though. They got off eventually but had to waste time and money fighting it, despite the muffler having the stock certification printed on it.
im only 5'6" and have a r3 and it is my best bike, and i put an akprovich. the neighbors dont wake up but we do get rumbly in the 3-4 thousand range we we do get growly. in gear is a whole other sound. it does help with stalls.
Sounds great. The smaller parallel twins imo really do sound like they have a lot more life with a nice slip on. My CBR500R has so much more life to it ever since I got the Leo Vince GP Corsa 2 slip on for it. Looks great too. Best $300 Canuck Bucks I ever spent on my bike.
I put one on my r3 cause I didn’t want to put a full system and it was worth every penny . If you’re on the fence get it the sound on TH-cam does not do it justice . 1-3 gears are really fun with this slip on when you roll off the throttle it makes a thunder rumbling sound . Idle and start up are noticeably enhanced . This is definitely worth it

Here is a Tip for those A1 kids who want some sound on their 1 cylinders. Directly behind the carb the air intake housing is mounted, remove that stock air intake, throw on a small "cone" Cold air intake. It completely changes the induction sound of said 1 cylinder and makes it sound like a mini sport bike. Get a smaller one for the breather hose as well.
My Dad changed the Wheel bearings on one of his bikes and removed both wheels like your Dessert Sled... He First removed the rear wheel and then the front wheel but the Forks were split into one Damping upwards and one Damping Downwards so as soon as he removed the Front axle the Forkarm just pumped up and the whole bike without wheels just slammed really hard on the Ground... It survived with few Scratches somehow...!

The engine breaking didn't seem nearly as bad than when I had mine. In 4th gear it would go from 45-25 in a second soon as I let off the throttle. That was my one complaint about that bike when I had it. The gearing is just so small.

Really torn on my first bike, I test road a 2019 R3 and really really enjoyed it. I have been calling and looking at dealers within 100 miles of my area and trying to test ride a ninja 400 but most are saying no test rides insurance doesn't cover sport bike test rides? My yamaha dealer local let me ride the R3 no problem?
Have an r3 since march and puted 8000 km in those few month. Really love it and recommend it. But you cpuld also consider something like a cbf500 that have a bit more torque. My friends has one and you feel it. But it also feels less great imo and looks and sound less great. I can t tell for the ninja400 as I never ride one but i don t like the looks
Get the ninja 400 without even a slight doubt since the torque on the 400 is just something else and while it might seems not really that good looking in pictures,in person it's the most beautifully crafted bike and the paint scheme is just too good to pass also build quality on it is insane

With emissions, exhausts are tuned to the Max. Other than weight loss, noise or aesthetics, not much a different exhaust will change.
I think mostly it’s for noise then aesthetics. Performance boost is statistically insignificant
