That's a great Tardis. I wish I had your skills - and patience. You deserve many thousands more subscribers. Like and subscribed. Come on you Whovians, where are you? Support this fantastic channel!
Okay I like you, I like this video I like The TARDIS you should be very proud of this I can imagine how amazing the feeling must be to have your own Polic Box, All you need now is a Console.
@@whobackwhen Im also building my own at the moment, I’ve recently completed the roof and now I just need to finish the panels, doors and Windows and signs. Edit: Do you have any idea what type of blue would be good for 9th-10th TARDIS?
@@gameznthingz Welcome to the TARDIS Builders' Club! Based on a Google, Pantone 2955C was the official colour in 2016, which is pretty close to (though not quite) the one I used in the video. What you could do, if you want to be extra certain, is to find a snapshot of the TARDIS from the time, and grab the colour directly from the image. Are you keeping a build diary on tardisbuilders.com? If not, and if you like, feel free to get in touch to publish one on whobackwhen.com :)
As a fellow Tardis builder can I ask how she has weathered since the build ? Mine needed the roof replacing after "The beast from the east" Now clad in glass-fibre
Hi! That's a gorgeous TARDIS you've got there. Sorry to hear about the roof. Unfortunately, mine suffered a similar fate only 10 days ago when "Storm Ciara" hit us, flipped it open like a PEZ dispenser and tore off the signs. Replacement roof (and follow-up video) coming up soon. Glass-fibre is a very cool move, btw. I'll look into it!
Excellent question! I think I ultimately found it in either a Homebase or a B&M, after scouring the Earth for an affordable one. I may be mistaken about that, but it's worth looking around places like that if you're in the market for one. Sadly, I had to build a new roof for my TARDIS after "Storm Chiara" and the lantern broke as I installed it-and I have still not found a suitable replacement...
Hey there, fellow TARDIS Builder! Yep, same here. In 2020, “Storm Ciara” opened her up like a pez dispenser, so I’ve since built a replacement roof and amended the signs. Somehow I managed to break the lantern in the process. I mostly found that I hadn’t waterproofed the original roof properly. Otherwise she’s still going strong. What kind of repair work did yours need?
Amazing I need advice I love dr who and I’m building a tardis at the minute but I won’t be able to make it bigger inside Any suggestions on what I could do
Hi there! Well, I started off with every intention of making a Newbery-esque TARDIS, as that's the one I grew up with, but material constraints (not to mention my lack of talent) made this one a bit of a medley.
Hey Sam, I don't have those plans anymore, I'm afraid. They were only ever flimsily drawn up in pencil... You may be able to find full plans on tardisbuilders.com. Otherwise, you could probably wing it based on this video and similar ones. Best of luck and happy TARDIS building to you!
Oh, no! That's a real tragedy. It was live just a few weeks ago, so perhaps they've just forgotten to renew their domain. Tell you what, if you have a DW-related project on the go, or you're considering one, get in touch with me via whobackwhen.com and perhaps we can publish your build diary there. In case you're interested, mine's up there already at whobackwhen.com/blog/tardis-build-diary-part-1/
Nope, sorry. I just went with measurements that seemed reasonable to me at the time, and I didn't keep my notes. If you're looking to build your own TARDIS, I recommend you check out tardisbuilders.com. They'll undoubtedly have ready-made plans there. Part of the fun is figuring it out on your own, though, and you'd miss out on being able to say that there's no TARDIS quite like yours. ;-)
Hey there! The wood alone was probably ~£250, but I got the lumber, ply, plexi, and other bits and bobs from lots of different places, so it's difficult to say at this point what the total amount was. Hope that helps, though
Love the Tardis, very well done. Nice to have a mum that bought you a mitre saw.
Thanks very much! Glad you like it. Hehe, I know, she's great. I'll tell her you said that :)

Excellent work 👍
Thanks! Likewise - always nice to meet a fellow TARDIS-builder :)
Great personality, very nice guy!
Completely agree. Has the likeability factor in spades.
Amazing!
i like it so much
Good on you mate. Good video. It looks great. I’m going to build one as well
Thanks very much! Glad to hear you're planning a build of your own - best of luck to you!

Great video - where did you buy the top solar powered light from ??

I thought it didn't snow in England anymore.
Ha! It does on occasion. And might I add, that's a fantastic outfit, Sir!
Nicely, nicely!
Having also completed a TARDIS, I’d like to know how it is coping with the weather. Mine needed some fixing after 2 years…..

The amount of effort is insane, I might build one now😅
What prop is it based on?
