After riding one...I dig it! Looking forward to the next track day! Hope to see you out there! Welcome to the internet, they're full of "brilliant" comments 😅
I got the same bike in the same color ordered.. Waiting game is painful. Can't wait. Hope your enjoying the bike. Negative comments are probably 14 year Olds, I wouldn't bother addressing them. Interesed to hear any issues you find as these are new models and the 660 has tech issues when they first rolled them out. This is gonna be my first bike so it's plenty of bike for me.
Hey there, Andy. Like that Indian fellow said 3/4 videos back, I like your videos because you get straight to the point. It's awesome. I just came back from a Demo Day at an Aprilia dealership, testing out the RS 660 and RS 457. First time on a sport bike I was impressed at the character difference between these two and my 850 V7 Moto Guzzi bike! But to the point, if your taking questions from the comment section, I've got two for ya: 1. When you grab your clutch, do you often find yourself turning on your brights by accident? I don't know if that switch is just in my way or if I need to grab the clutch another way. 2. What do you think of the vibration at high speeds (60-100 mph)? Unfortunately that demo only allowed me to reach 55 mph, so I couldn't open her all the way up. (Side note: I also intended on buying the RS 660 knowing I have that extra power on tap, but after trying out the RS 457, it was just so much fun and engaging.) Thanks again for the informational videos, Andy!
1. Yes, many times! But I think only on the track, I can't remember doing it on the road. I don't use the clutch that much at the track honestly, Pre-loading the shifter and either blipping or coming off the throttle and it shifts either up or down no problem. 2. Another guy who rode my 457 at the track says he likes it better than the 660. For the road, I think it's a hard decision to take the 457 over the 660 if you can ride both bikes comfortably. So many people rave about the 660 Tuono as well. If you're doing any long distance riding at all the 660 is probably better. Town or track I think it's a harder decision. Only you can decide.
@@andyruhl7739 Thanks for the reply's, Andy. Heck yeah this is a very hard decision, lol! But if I may ask again, could you be more direct with my second question on vibration from the RS 457, at those speeds? Surely you've gone beyond 60 mph on the track, no? Thanks again!
@@jonathantodd6953 I can't remember noticing vibration. Doesn't mean it wasn't there, it means it didn't bother me enough to remember it. It has to be pretty bad for me to remember it. I'm not a good opinion person on vibration.
It's pathetic how many keyboard warriors actually think their input matters. It was entertaining to hear your responses. As the saying goes - a-holes are like opinions...everyone has one. @@guitarmike4ever I'm not sure if you've ridden a little bike at the track? I mean 300-400 class... It's a totally different experience. You really have to roll them through corners. I love it so much. I'm always shocked at how much slower I have to go at the apex on bigger bikes. But that's how they work...
@@uksurfer2505 Smaller bikes force you to ride correctly. You have to hit your marks. You have to load the bike more than bigger bikes in the corners, which means you have to be smoother with the controls. Not worrying about highsiding is nice too. It's possible but only if you're really doing something wrong.
I'm glad you brought that up. I should have done a separate video on that. The ABS didn't kick in for me at all on the track. You have to really try to make it happen with the rear brake (which I don't use much), and I was able to just lift the rear wheel with the front brake before ABS kicked in. All of my ABS testing was done in the pits at slower speeds just because I wanted to know what was going to happen. No problems with ABS for me.
@@andyruhl7739 Agreed. The rear comes up easily with rear ABS turned off… I just felt the stock tyres just doesn’t grip well at all making the ABS kick in… I have ridden only in streets so probably roads are also not in perfect condition always … but I feel better tires must fix this problem from my experience. Correct me if I’m wrong!
@@Blrtraffic360 I didn't try it with the stock tires, but that's believable that the stock tires have less grip available so the ABS comes in. I think if you start from decent speed and build the pressure slowly and steadily you should be able to get some good grip with the stock tire. If you grab the brake no tire is really going to deal with that very well.
@@andyruhl7739 ok mate. Also one more thing there is kind of play I feel when we pull up and push down the handle bar. I observed this in almost most of the Aprilia rs457, is that given intentionally for some reason?
I have an rs 457 and with the stock tires pulling my hands off the handlebars leans to the left and I was told the reason could be the original tires and I wanted to ask if in case it was doing it to you too or with these tires it doesn't do it anymore?

Hello Andy i have question if you could answer that would awesome
Dose rs 457 go straight when you are not holding the handle bars?
I don't know. I don't do that. It turns both ways just fine so I'm kinda not worried about it.
Why did you downsize? 👍
Ask again with more detail. I don't know which downsize you are referring to.

Hi Andy, is the ABS kicking in still bad after changing to Pirelli’s …. ABS kicks in like crazy on stock tyre and makes the brakes feel like shit

I feel a minor vibration on the right handle bar and right padle after i cross 75kmph is this normal to feel the small vibrations?
