I was seventeen when I joined the church. Although it was years later that I actually read The Book of Mormon cover to cover, I had a firm testimony of of The Book of Mormon and Jesus Christ. Forty nine years later I have read The Book of Mormon from tile page to Moroni’s Amen, many many times and each time that I read it I receive a witness form the Holy Spirit that is the word of God, each time the Spirit gives me a deeper understanding and love for our loving Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. Kaitlin, I love to listen to your testimony. When you speak of Jesus Christ, his church and the prophet I can’t help but feel your love for them and for us, your listeners. I love you.

I was born and raised in the church tried reading the BoM many many times over many many years but with my ADHD and PTSD later in life i just couldn't grasp a personal testimony of it until a missionary advised me to read along with a audio version of it what a life changing event i was actually able to finish it ....today i still cant express or even begin to explain without tears rolling down my face the overwhelming confirmation i received about its divinity ...i cant imagine a world and my life without it.

This is a great way to study! Thanks for sharing. I had a friend growing up who was dyslexic and wanting to serve a mission. He had this same idea, and it increased his testimony of the Book of Mormon, and it helped improved his reading ability for the rest of his life! It was quite the miracle!

Might try that. When I'm reading anything, I find it difficult to focus. My mind wanders as I'm reading and I'll be half a page through before I realize I have no idea what I just read and end up reading the same section 2-3 times.

    Hi, Kaitlyn,
This is one of your best videos. As a recent convert, reading the book of mormon, was Central to me accepting modern revelation.
    Thanks!

I love the Book of Mormon! I read it every January! So even though we have just finished it and are now starting the DnC, I am also reading the Book of Mormon this month.
In reticent years, I have begun to see how the Book of Mormon begins with the temple ceremony and that the covenant language is absolutely everywhere! ❤ We are so loved! God is so merciful! Jesus Christ is our Savior!

I love the Book of Mormon! And I love the Bible! My relationship with Jesus Christ has increased immensely with my study of the Bible. But without the clarity that comes through the Book of Mormon, the restored gospel and Church of Jesus Christ, I understand why there are so many different interpretations of the Bible and so many different churches all claiming basis ‘only in the Bible’. The clarity I believe the original writers intended has been lost in translation. I’m grateful every day for the restored Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!

Last week at my grandpas funeral, it was said that he had read the Book of Mormon over 100 times and he was just beginning to understand it. That blew me out of the water.

A fun game we would play with him was to flip to a random page and start reading a verse and he cold either finish the quote or tell you which chapter it was in. Goals!!!

A major thing that has helped me from the Book of Mormon is seeing how a personality of holding onto injustices makes it very difficult to be close to God. You see patterns through the histories where those who are wronged (either real or perceived) become wroth instead of learning to forgive and seek the comfort and peace of trusting that the Savior will make it all right, and vengeance is His (Romans 12 in the Bible teaches this - but again the Book of Mormon really emphasizes it in Mormon, in a time of such terrible devastation because this was not heeded by the peoples who were making the record) and we are to forgive. I noticed that I was praying a lot for myself in my own wrong-doings, wanting to repent. But the hurts I felt (either real or perceived) were harder for me to feel I could trust my Savior with. I feel defensive because I've felt hurt so much by so many throughout a lot of my life. But I could see in the Book of Mormon how I was also feeling wroth about those wrongs, even though I wasn't angry it was just eating at me in cynicism, bitterness, resentments and so on -- and I didn't want to be the kind of person I saw recorded in the Book of Mormon. So I started to choose to forgive more, try to let those hurts be carried by Christ rather than within . The Bible does say in Matthew 6 that if we do not forgive others, then Heavenly Father cannot forgive us fully and I always wondered about it, but the Book of Mormon shows how that pattern of holding onto wrongs hardens your heart more, and it just made more sense. I am sorry I can't articulate it well. But in the first part of the Book of Mormon you see Laman and Lemuel being wronged and becoming wroth, and by the end, generations later, the people are so full of anger from these "wrongs" that even the descendants of Nephi have become so hardhearted that they fight to the death. But those who keep working to live the doctrines of Christ have peace and comfort-- even joy-- even in very trying circumstances. In trying to forgive, I feel I'm not only blessed with more of that peace, comfort, and some joy but also a sense of being able to give to others what I seek for myself. I am less quick to be offended because I realize how much we are all just trying to do better (or if we are not, there are many reasons we can't know for how people are behaving and we can let Christ work through those things while we just continue to love). This is just one way I feel this record has really helped me to change and grow closer to Christ. But it really was a profound thing for me.

One of the most important things I have learned is to be humble. Humility is such an important virtue. Especially if we are striving to be like Jesus Christ. His Atonement has truly humbled me. What he did for me in the Garden of Gethsemane and his walking to the cross and the torture he endured throughout that walk and then the suffering that he endured for me upon the cross gladly bearing has truly humbled me.

I can honestly testify that the Book of Mormon is true because I prayed to Heavenly Father and the Holy Ghost bore witness to me that it is true -- God knew that I knew and will never deny it!

One of the things I've found in sharing the BOM is people say the bible says to " not add anything to my word"
But it also says the same thing in the Book of Mormon.
And yet we have Doctrine and Covenants, and The Pearl of Great Price.
People don't seem to understand or want to hear that we have MODERN REVELATION. It's a continuation of the Lord's work. It's not us that's adding to God's words. It's the Lord.

Kaitlyn, I once heard a good pastor state that baptism wasn't required. I said look at John 3:5. He later said he was mistaken, especially when he heard the Lord state that baptism was
    essential. Christians should know
that the New Testament states this as well.

Exaltation requires work--a great work. We must prove ourselves worthy through obedience. Salvation is free but also comes with a price. We must recognize Christ as our Lord for salvation. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. We will do well to read it and heed it's words.

I’m sorry about your pretty pink scriptures. When my daughter was three, she thought it was funny to throw my compact scriptures I had had since my seminary years, in the toilet.😢
